  1. My wife is watching it since she was a fan of the 1960's(?) version. The new version looks pretty good too, although there are some changes. Looks very interesting though. I could get into this one better, I'm sure, especially with a great actor like Jim Caviezel in the leading role. Yes, this show is kind of like an acid trip Davy
  2. OK, I was intrigued by the idea of this flaming hot habanero jelly, so I made 3.5 pints of it today. I spilled at least 0.5 pints of this napalm on the burner I wore nitrile gloves and almost wore my goggles too, heh, just to keep the seeds and habanero juice out of my eyes. I made a mess in the kitchen and have to wait for a few hours to try the jelly in the cooling off period (the jelly and my wife). Davy
  3. Extremely well done! Wow, that's really something Davy
  4. Have you started a build thread in the member's project forum? You can always catalog your progress and pics there. The only downside is that other members cannot post replies. Davy
  5. Nope, Tuck's Medicated Hemorrhoid pads. Davy
  6. The skyline reminds me too much of this car: ...which gives me nightmares since I did own one back in the '80's. I called it the "200 SUX" (as in two hundred sucks...) for good reason: it did. I suppose I'm trying NOT to see any resemblance to my 240Z and the Skyline Davy
  7. Is the 289 a bored out 283 Chevy? I'm not the best at calculating the cubic inches of a motor that's been bored over, so I am just curious. Excellent shell you picked up, BTW---looks extremely clean and even somewhat taken care of from what the pictures show. This will be a fun car for your bro. Davy
  8. I bought some weatherstrip from McMaster Carr, but I would love some strip that had more pliability to it. This Kia Sportage door weatherstrip sounds very promising. I'll have to pull some when I go to the JY. Davy
  9. Stunning time Congrats!!!!!!!! Davy
  10. I would vote for an Infinity Q45. I liked mine when I had it--it was very reliable, dead solid at *ahem* speed, plenty of power for a luxury car, and extremely comfortable to boot. Davy
  11. If this is an LT1 engine, it won't be from a truck. It should be from a Camaro, Corvette, or possibly an Impalla SS. In general the 350/5.7L engines on trucks are not set up for 'performance' like they are in the cars and yes, the transmissions are geared differently too. If you do happen to pick up a truck motor sometime, you will most likely have to (or should have to) replace the camshaft to get the rpm range higher, suitable for more performance, replace the intake and carb, although many trucks have a 4 barrel carb already, and replace the exhaust manifolds with headers. Many trucks engines have lower compression heads, which don't flow like the performance heads in the cars. Keep in mind that all of this I am telling you is "in general." Now, this list is not inclusive--I would also replace the timing chain with a double roller unit, the rockers with roller rockers, pushrods, etc. More performance means more money and more/different parts many times. Again, if this is a true LT1, it may be fuel injected and computer controlled. What you end up buying changes a lot of things, so let us know what you end up with so we can help. For buying an engine, my rule of thumb is to buy the best performance engine I can afford at the get go if I have to settle for a stock engine in a Chevrolet vehicle. You can always build up from stock as time goes on. Davy
  12. Please tell me the bidding amount is actually a joke The engineering and parts don't add up to well north of $7,000, so what gives?? I just don't get it. I think a racing bar stool would be more fun. Davy
  13. Congratulations on a very sweet addition to your family I can't imagine your wife passing that size of baby---makes a person shudder. Soooo, this was a natural, unmedicated birth, eh? Kudos to your wife for getting through all that. Makes me glad I'm a man, because I cannot fathom having to birth a child--it's not like you can pop a Tylenol and call it "good." I like that name Lucy or Lucia--good choices Davy
  14. Burning rubber: it's good for the soul
  15. Sorry to hear of the family emergency, but I am glad you were able to get the changes completed on the car. I'm certainly looking forward to the video updates and new performance figures Davy
  16. Congrats!! Babies are like almonds: you just can't have one ...ask me how I know Davy
  17. The PO left the rear suspension only partially tightened. This made the car want to dogleg from side to side and extremely dangerous to drive. The car nearly crashed on the freeway that day and the driver killed... ....Good thing Auxilary was driving it for me on the ride home Davy
  18. Paul, this video is even better--longer with more engine sounds...man, that car is insane! I have to agree with you on the 962: it is one of the best knock-your-socks-off looking race cars and to have a streetable one would be too cool. I keep looking at cars the Mosler and similar cars with a set up like the 962. My wife is going to have to work her tail off for me to afford one Davy
  19. It's funny that sometimes a faulty part that we didn't know about makes the car slower than it should be! My neighbor just replaced a faulty carb on his Boss 302 Mustang and he swears it's so much faster than before. Good work on getting your tranny in by yourself. I have done it too--it just takes time Davy
  20. Ryan, good to see you back again. Too bad about all the crap that happened to you! That truly sucks. Glad you kept your Stimpy avatar too Hope to see you on the forum more often now. Davy
  21. If they really want to, the Dept of Homeland security can make him go away for a really long time all due to the pipe bombs. He's a knucklehead at the very least. In any event, hopefully he'll serve out a few years or more. Turdburger. Davy
  22. Since you are lacking the necessary mechanical skills, learning from a hybrid swap is NOT where you want to start, in my humble opinion. I think it would be unwise, but you need to determine what you are willing to do to get what you want and how badly you want it. I would take some classes at a community college to start with, or just buy a running, old Z car and monkey around with it for a few years before doing a swap. Just my $.02 You need to educate yourself with books, tools, and the like. You can spell and don't use text messaging in your post, so there is great hope for you. I look for people with little mechanical proficiency to buy parts & cars from---they are always the ones having fire sales on parts because they have to dump their projects when they get in above their heads. Word to the wise... Davy
  23. Doc, I'm glad you are still here and I am sorry he still is... Hope you pick up the larger gun next time too. Take care. Davy
