  1. I'm sure it does something similar to the old crusty tar patches that you scraped out of the car. If it doesn't do anything (I think it will), you can always apply some Dynomat, Lizardskin, or Brown bread to the interior. I'd keep it as is and see how it does, especially if you lay on 1/8" to 1/4" thick. You can always sound deaden the doors and ceiling with Dynomat later if you need to. Just my $.02 Good luck! Davy
  2. Thanks for sharing. The video is almost five years old (?) by now. Darius is a member here and his car is very different looking now. Search and you shall find. We used to have a Chrysler forum, but those posts have been absorbed in the greater part of the site. Searching may give you some leads or examples, but no kits. Davy
  3. Wow, that's quite a combo! That turbo is almost bigger than you need Davy
  4. The car is a fair deal if there's no rust on it. Most of the ugly things he mentioned are cosmetic. It's begging for a V8. Davy
  5. I assume the big speaker will be a sub woofer, which really doesn't matter what position it's in soooooo, I think this will be pretty darn cool when it's all done. I'm assuming you'll be glassing over the tape. Will you coat it with something or just paint it afterward? It'll be great whatever you decide. Davy
  6. The fabricated valve covers look great as does the converted manifold. I have toyed with the idea of converting a Victor Jr over to FI, but to find someone who will do it for cheap isn't easy (or realistic?) at all. You just need some boost and you'll have it all: V8, FI, Turbo, massive cubes, power, looks, money, fame, booyeah! Um, anyhow, if you can get some vids together, I'd love to see it in action Davy
  7. Thanks, Mike. I'll try it, but I won't post the pics--I'm too tired and I can't think at the moment...at least I know how to do it now Davy
  8. Yep, I did have this done and I think that you are correct: someone else had this done too. I cannot recall who it was, though. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have regarding it Davy
  9. Great info! Thanks, Jon. Mike, I hope you have something useful from the thread. I hope you stay safe!! Davy
  10. I like it. EDIT: they won't let me post a jpg, funny that. Davy
  11. Hmm, looking good so far. I think it will be great when done Keep us posted on the progress. Dash is looking great too now just for some gauges. Davy
  12. Al, It could happen, but a strippy sports car just doesn't add up with the bean counters at the automakers. I agree: stab in a V8 in a small, two door chassis that has very minimal luxury features and you'll have a relatively cheap, fast car to tune even farther. It all comes down to money and regulations. Given all the gov't crap (read: laws & regs), it doesn't become profitable in the eyes of the car manufacturers. I would LOVE for some company to buck the system and put out a very, basic, very fast, good handling car for the masses. It would warm my heart. Like a RWD Scion with a FI V8. Davy
  13. BINGO! Kudo's to Wheelman for spotting it Davy
  14. Mikelly had just such an install using the cap under the rear license plate. I'm not sure which tank he used though. I'm almost certain it was not a stock tank though. PM him and find out. Davy
  15. Mine latest 240Z has been sitting for at least three years...it WAS running up until this past fall when I disconnected everything. The driveline is just waiting to be pulled this Spring. The V8 engine, tranny & other parts are just waiting to be installed (and they have been waiting a looong time too). I think I purchased the V8 six or seven years ago at least. I hope it's not all rusted inside.... Davy
  16. Great! I love the swap!! How much $$$ do you have in the car? Can you make a list of what it costs to do something like that? (roughly) I think Sergio spent quite a bit doing his. Davy
  17. Taurus radiators were never meant to cool a V8. If you are swapping in a V8, it makes sense to also swap in a radiator from a V8 car or one that is large enough to cool a V8. I pulled a V8 Camaro radiator and a Taurus fan for my own car. Even Auxilary is going to use a JTR radiator with his RX7T conversion. Some have gotten by with the stock Datsun unit, but why take the chance? Davy
  18. Say, this looks a lot like Paul's old car?!? What's up with that?! *insurance fraud* *cough* Nice find Davy
  19. Mike, Are you specifically looking for something stronger or longer than stock? If it longer that you need, the common swap is the Nissan Quest stud. I'm not sure of the specs--sorry, but I can look them up. I know you have a tough V8 and you drag race, but I still have to ask what it is that you want to accomplish here? Are your present (I assume stock) studs not cutting the mustard? JnJRacing's car is brutal and I'd find out what they're using if they've upgraded--their blown V8 Z is pushing some pretty fast times on stock suspension. Davy
  20. I think you'll have to spray for toolboxes since they're obviously breeding like rabbits. The engine is very nice looking and I'm impressed by the endurashine parts, especially the polished heads--kinds like automotive jewelry, only functional. Thanks for posting the link to your pictures. Davy
  21. Having one of the plates swapped for the other or (upside down?) is the only thing I can think of. If there has EVER been a fitment issue, it has never been the fault of JTR, but the chassis or the most common: mechanic error. It's difficult to tell from your photos. Try emailing or PMing Bartman, he has an LT1 in a 240Z. I don't think he had any issues mounting his engine and tranny, so perhaps he can help you. Davy
  22. Ditto on that. That really bites, but glad you're still here. We've had some members killed in accidents, etc. Davy
  23. Haha, no no. "Chap" means "fellow" or "gentleman" ---it's a British word more or less. Davy
  24. Vihn, I'm glad you spoke up in the thread. I was trying to remember the chap who had the yellow ZX with a great shaved back end--it was your car! Nice work on that car Davy
  25. Rudy, most European businessmen have better English skills than many Americans do. They certainly don't use the word "cos" in place of "because." And they capitalize the proper nouns, especially in a name like "Cartier." He's a lousy little suck from some big city in America. Uneducated scammers aren't even interesting! EDIT: I read more of it...and I think he wants a young man to share his life with intimately. Davy
