  1. C'mon guys, pipe down. Let's not talk about useless posts--if you want a fair share, go to the non-tech forum Davy
  2. Eric--it'll look more and more like an old Vette. See what it looks like with IMSA flares... Davy
  3. The balls now need to be tatoo'd and pierced to bring it all together! Davy
  4. If you are the kind of person that leaves no stone unturned, you can see a chiropractor and find out if it is nerve related. It doesn't sound like it from what you've said, but you never know. Cheap insurance IMO. Good luck, man. Davy
  5. Happy Birthday, man! Wow, you're so close at Cozy's place, I might show up uninvited just to meet both of you in person...that is unless Cozy packs weapons too Davy
  6. I'd like to see a video of you playing your guitar while driving thru a 2nd gear corner AND eating pizza. That, my friend, will make you a god. Nice videos, Phil. Keep it up! Davy
  7. No, he's not saying that. He has 280Z glass, not 280ZX glass---the two are completely different. The assumption is that if you unbolt the hardware from your 260Z window, you should be able to mount it to the 280Z glass and make it work. However, after seeing some major differences in the 280Z doors vs 260Z (early edition) doors, I'm not 100% sure. You'd better get some more buy in from others first or start searching the web for part numbers and see if they'll interchange. Davy
  8. I like this picture: it puts everything into perspective. If it performs as good as it looks, I think you'll be smiling each time you fire it up! Davy
  9. I agree with you! It can't hurt to keep the simple parts around that you KNOW work well to begin with. Spares have saved many a man's behind before! Davy
  10. You want about 5 inches of backspacing with coil-overs. You would have to use spacers for sure. Time to measure, measure, measure, and figure out what would work for you with some spacers/adapters. EDIT: I'm getting myself hopelessly confused trying to figure out offset and using spacers. This may or may not work at all. Talk to them and see if they have anything that may work for you. Davy
  11. Aux, I have to agree with you, especially considering the origins of the "People's Car" in the first place. Using the Third Reich eagle and replacing the swastika was NOT the best idea that chap had. He better be careful where he parks his car... Davy
  12. I think Max is right that the ugly woman was Alice the Goon, and maybe the Sea Hag was the name of the ship???? My brain doesn't go back that far anymore HAHAHAHA! Davy
  13. Here's a quote: "I get asked all the time "What's it do in the quarter?" I won't be able to take the car to the track with the double blower setup this year. The bottom end of the engine wasn't built to withstand the HP that the top half is capable of making. I originally built the engine for the single blower setup and didn't think the double blower setup would make as much HP as it does. I am saving $$$$$ for an IA2 aftermarket Pontiac block and a billet crank. ( http://www.allpontiac.com ) I will be taking the 6-71 blower off and making passes with the single 8-71 this Fall. Right now, I'm too busy going from show to show to race the car. I built this car to be a "street car" first. I can show it and race it also but my first obligation was to make it streetable. With that in mind, it is not a full out 'racecar' or 'showcar'." So the answer is, it cannot race at all. For some reason, I keep expecting to see a monster sticking out of the roof driving the car, like a Big Daddy Roth cartoon. Davy
  14. I have been in both cities (if one can call Turlock a city) and I like Ft Worth better. You'll make a lot of friends and learn to like BBQ at the same time. They have some good beer out that way too. Good luck on the conversion. Davy
  15. Paul, if it makes you feel any better, I'd rather have your car...anyday Davy
  16. Some of you guys have me laughing out loud because of the funny stories behind your names. I couldn't think of **** when I wanted to come aboard, so I just went with a variation of my first name, David, and what car I love the most, my Z. "DaveyZ" looked to darn weird to me, so DavyZ it was! Funny thing is, in my "car circle" of friends, most call me "Davy," but no one outside of it ever calls me that Davy
  17. Why not click the link provided above and merely look under "ZX"? "Similar" is relative. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/7FAD Davy
  18. The differential looks good under the car, Aux, and I'm sure it'll work well. At least they know how to weld Your car is looking great BTW Oh, and thanks for the stereo and TV, they work great Davy
  19. I second that---it's a much better piece now. Nice work!! Davy
  20. Phil, er, Big-Phil, there have also been some insane people posting on Craigslist as well. People asking stupid prices for mediocre 280Z's and such. Makes me cringe, but then I see the same cars posted months later with still no takers! Can't these people get a clue???? Davy
  21. Nah, you can do some jobs for cash and just declare the extra income on your taxes at the end of the year. I HAD to do work on the side when my wife & I had our first kid, in escrow on our first house, and I get laid off. I know what it's like and I wish you well. You gotta do what you gotta do to provide for your family. Having a fire sale may or may not help you much....and you'll be out of the cars... Just my $02. Davy
  22. Cool run, Mike!! Love the Chevy engine sound "GRAAAAWWWW!" I hope my car is as fast as yours when it's done. Davy
