  1. I second that. The price is way too inflated for that. Craigslist offers better deals than that!! I also agree that it is a lot to pay to someone with such little feedback. Davy
  2. Nothing wrong with gifts for you or the family, we just did it differently this year and it's all good. Nice stuff!! Right now I have tools I'm not using, so I figure I have enough in the garage at the moment, although I still don't have a sand blaster---that's the next 'big' item this next year. I figure I can solve some rust issues on the car with it, so it'll justify buying one. Anyway, Merry Christmas to all Davy
  3. Wife & I didn't give each other gifts this year, but just gave the kids a few. We used the extra money to help some other families that really needed it. This is the first year we have been able to do it and it feels great, especially when the others had no idea it was coming. I'm thankful I have a job, that we're doing O.K., and everyone is in good health. That's enough for me!!! Davy
  4. Yep!! I just found out that the 'sinful potatoes' are from a Tennissee cookbook, not the Brit book. Still, it all rolls in together as a primal taste explosion of culinary ecstasy! In other words,"I like it." I'm sure you know good cooking from your part of the country Davy
  5. Haha, no, but it is stick when wet and costs too much!!! Neat idea though. Davy
  6. My friend Auxilary used motorcycle turn signals on his airdam and it looks great! They even curve a little for a near-perfect fit on the airdam. Check out the pic: Davy
  7. OK, but it's Christmas... Davy
  8. Mmmm, looks tasty. Wifey is cookin' southern right now...Ham cooked in Cherry Coke and something called "sinful potatoes." I would call this "white trash cooking," but it comes from Nigella Lawson's cookbook, so I'm not sure the British would call it that. Should be awesome when it's done! No pictures, but it'll be oh so good!!! Davy
  9. That's why most guys have gone the JTR do-it-yourself route or even the Hooker Headers/Scarab route. By the time you add up the costs of buying the mounts, etc, it gets pricey. At least JTR gives you diagrams to make your own mounts. I know for a fact guys here have made the mounts for pennies. Davy
  10. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and fun filled holidayz!! Davy
  11. Yes, I've done business with them and they sent the parts quickly. I think this was the place we did the ZG flare group buy 3 years ago. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). They also sent me a key fob, so I know I've done some kind of business with them... Davy
  12. That's very impressive. The transmission rebuild is even more so---I find them more of an enigma than wiring! I agree with Bartman that the install looks great. Is this up and running now? Davy
  13. What do we think?!??? I think thou art not worthy and should'st betrothe thy parts unto the admin. Yep, looks like you got one heck of a deal there. I think I paid nearly half that for just my steering wheel alone. I love MOMO stuff---good quality and made in Europe. Davy
  14. Then it won't matter a hill of beans. The metal shims keep the distance constant between the pan and the block. You can safely back that off to 8 lbs if you want, but it shouldn't make a difference either way frankly with the quality parts you have. If this was a gasket without the shims (ie cork gasket) then that's a different story. Davy
  15. Sounds great! Vroom Vroom and then someone's cracking a whip in the backround LOL. Mean sounding blow off valve! I love the fabrication on the headers BTW. Keep us posted!! Davy
  16. It takes a real man to admit that in a public forum!! I will, however, not extend any grace and will enjoy laughing at your expense! j/k I think a 400 hp 383 SBC will be the hot ticket for your car. I do hope you can salvage most everything else on your present motor, which was pretty cool to begin with. Maybe Santa will deliver you something cool, eh? Davy
  17. Pretty awesome post, Terry. With the wind tunnel project taking up some of the members money, the site support is still pretty important. I'm going to send Dan some more money come January. Holiday's are eating up current cash a bit, although I could send him $25 right now... Davy
  18. Search for posts by Siliconeboy and Turbomeister. Both have turbocharged Chevy V8's. There has been a number of good threads regarding this topic. Davy
  19. Hmm, I forgot about that fact. My 510 had no sun visors--or I couldn't use them due to the mirror. That's the one drawback to the Wink, but I'm tall so it didn't matter much to me... Davy
  20. Agreed. The car is looking awesome, Mike! Can't wait to see it when it's up and running again. Davy
  21. I had one on my 510 back in the 1980's--I think the mirrors became popular in the mid to late 1970's. They take a bit getting used to since they give you more visual information than what you may be used to, but they completely eliminate the blind spot from what I remember. The mirrors come in different widths (lengths?) and I had the one that spanned from side to side. Very simple brackets hold it in place and are unobtrusive. I'd recommend one if you need to be very aware of traffic around you, like in racing or even the daily rush hour Davy
  22. That is some great cobbling! The final product looks great and you can't even tell on the outside how it was done Davy
  23. Yikes, I hope he'll recover over time. He's still enlisted then? I'm out of the loop knowing what happens to the injured/permanently injured soldiers. Surely they don't do another tour do they? Depends upon severity of the injury?? My dad was in the Korean war, but he has said less than a paragraph's worth of information about it since I have been alive. Davy
  24. JohnC bought an R190 from Auxilary and moi, but he installed it in an 810 I think. He would at least know about the stud location in the rear. Maybe he can comment. We never bothered to measure the dang thing. It was installed into the 240Z we parted out, but I can't remember if the mustache bar was from an R180 or R200, or if it had other holes drilled for the studs. Davy
  25. OTM has the right idea, Veritech, but put an evil twist in it such as have them each armed to the hilt as hitmen or something all while smiling their stupid grins. I think it would be cool and get a laugh from your judge. Davy
