  1. I think, like John Coffey's car, BJ's car is an NA six cylinder... Davy
  2. Thanks, "Mouse Poop (now we know!)," but that certainly answers my question. Around here the Fesitvas are dirt cheap, but most are beaten pretty soundly too. Once in a while a cherry one comes up and I always think about it. The $3300 is flexible from what you are saying and I think I could find a wrecked Capri for pennies if I am patient enough. I like the swap a lot and think if I kept the drivetrain somewhat stock (I would not be looking for the insane amount of power you guys want) that it would still be economical and fun. Thanks for the PM offer and I may take you up on it in the future, but for mow, the Z gets the attention (or lack of it). Davy
  3. qwik240z hit it correctly. I'm a real estate appraiser and I can tell you that it... 1) Depends on the market where you are & what's happening with it. 2) See #1 I bought my home in 1995 just when the market here started to go up. I paid maybe $5,000 less than the asking. It's worth over 3 times what I paid for it...but all that's on paper until I sell it. The market will dictate the price then too. It could change in a day, so frankly I "bank" on nothing at all until then, which is one reason why I don't pull money out and go further and further in debt; I know my limitations. My one piece of advice: know your market and what it's doing BEFORE you just put a bid on a house. Davy
  4. Sergio, could you define "cheap" for me please? Reason I ask is that I may need a daily driver in the future, and a turbo Festy is right up my alley. Davy
  5. Yes, that's his business; I'm sure he does well too. Davy
  6. Nailed it! That's my list too, verbatim. Davy
  7. Braces for one daughter and fumigating the house; the usual fun stuff. Davy
  8. Ali's car is a great example of why I actually like the 280Z signals better---it relegates them to the grill (or wherever) and keeps the front end devoid of the outer signals. I'm just different I guess Davy
  9. Good! Thanks for sharing that excellent story. Hoover was a member here when he owned the white one. After he sold it and pressed on with his turbo hoses business, he faded away from here. Glad you are here though. Davy
  10. I'm diggin' the spider! I want one. Davy

    Thnx admins

The general membership can also give themselves a pat on the back for helping to patrol the site! How many times do we get email notifying us of spam, irate threads, even (rarely) obscene stuff?? It takes a group! However, this is for SuperDan: Davy
  12. Well said, Mike & oldnrusty, in your last posts Oldnrusty: keep reading regarding making a decision on which kit to buy. Most members on the site have the JTR kit. The Scarab, MSA, and John's kits fall in line in that order. If you can, at least buy the JTR manual. It's worth the money, will probably save you some real hassles, and you can always sell it to someone on this site if you want. Good luck with your swap and you are correct: "there is nothing new under the sun." Davy
  13. Did the hatch door bang you on the head on it's way down like mine did me? It's been too long since I did it to give you any advice, but I did remember the kiss it gave my cranium. Davy
  14. The GT looks like the Schwitzer I sold on ebay not too long ago. It's big. I like the work going on your car---looks like you're doing it right and getting into the chassis prep for the powerplant. Nice... Davy
  15. That's caused by a stupid jack maneuver or a front end collision? Seriously, what would cause that? I have a partially crunched frame rail from some person jacking the wrong place AND a crushed floorpan from the same but nothing that looks like that, so I'm wondering about that "wrinkle." Davy
  16. Does your 260Z have a 5 lug conversion? Z32 wheels are 5 lug. Your 260Z is 4 lug if it is still stock. Davy
  17. Deja, that's the first I've seen of your wood console...I never noticed it before. Looks very nice BTW Certainly 'warmer' than the plastic ones... Davy
  18. Awesome! Can't wait to see final pics of the thing!! Davy
  19. Same here. Most CA guys will do this as will most guys in states where the emissions issue is a concern. Another great reason why we like the 240Z as well. Tinny is light, tinny good, but tinny flexes too Davy
  20. There are threads regarding this and the advice is: run away! Do not use an inferior V6 tranny behind anything other than the original engine it came with. They cannot hold the torque, plus the input (or it is output?) shafts are not the same as the V8 tranny. Avoid them like the plague. Davy
  21. Very cool looking, Mike! I'm sure it's presently as fast as the real one...maybe faster Davy
  22. The paint & body work looks great, especially the way the headlight buckets and the front airdam are incorporated into the front end--sweet! The wheels were the right color to help set the paint job off even more. It really "pops." Davy
