  1. Most of it is made overseas now (China & Vietnam). USA made is a thing of the past, my friend. Is the compressor made here or there? Just wondering. Davy
  2. Jersey, you & I are about the same age (I just turned 40 this past summer). I had a motorcycle accident in 1999 that banged me up & down pretty good. I never did see a chiropractor until 2005. However, I worked out before and after that time with weights. The exercise did help, but my vertebrae in my back and joints in my neck were not aligned. My neck has some bone spurs (arthritis) now, but I keep it at bey with regular visits to the chiropractor. This has helped so much that I took up martial arts a couple of years ago. That and the weights combined with the chiro make for some good regeneration, longevity, and strength. All the streching, twisting, and fighting is great for my back and neck (OK the fighting is not, but it comes with the territory). You need to strengthen your back & neck after you recover from this. I also suggest stretching later on (serious whole body stuff) and chiropractor visits too. Don't let your body go at this point. You are at the cusp in age when you either 1) stay in shape and hold on to youth/health even though you age or 2) it starts to decay more rapidly now and you let it all go to hell in a handbasket and do nothing until they rush you to the hospital for a coronary. Be serious about this and get stronger. Stronger is better. Davy
  3. Many thanks, Tony! That is some useful information Davy
  4. I'm not too familiar with the ZX, but if you can get a bullet type under the car shortly after the tranny, that will help. A typical S30 system would be something like downpipes into a single 3" pipe, into a bullet style muffler, into a 3" tube into a Flowmaster or Dynomax Turbo muffler, into an exhaust tip. Or from the downpipes, into an X pipe, into two bullets OR flat Spintech or fairly flat muffler with dual in & out, then dual pipes back to a dual in dual out muffler out back or two mufflers side by side out back. Feh, this is getting complicated (I hope I typed it out correctly). Just put two mufflers in the line, essentially, and you should cancel out most, if not all, of that droning. Davy
  5. So who is the cutie that's standing next to you in one of the shots? She a hunny! Davy
  6. If you are talking about the horrible droning sound at speed, what you have is common...especially with only 1 muffler. Many use a resonator or second (first in the line) under the car with a larger muffler out back. The short length of the system is what contributes to the droning noise, so you have to cancel out that sound with a second muffler. Also, you should have an X pipe or an H pipe in there too if you don't already have one. This is actually a thread for "exhaust" I believe, not the V8 forum even though it is loosely tied to it. The are other threads (good ones too!) covering this same topic. Davy
  7. I would not use parts cleaner....but I would try some ATF or power steering fluid. It may actually work on the rubber. The vaseline is too thick IMO. Plus you never know who went into the jar last and for what reason. Davy
  8. They are the S30 cars. The 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z had roughly the same body but different bumpers in the later cars. The pictures are mostly 240Zs from what I can tell. It really does not matter actually--the smaller bumpers can be installed on the later cars for the same effect. Davy
  9. The S30 (240Z, 260Z, 280Z) are usually the easiest to pass emissions, so you might want to start there. However, if emissions in your area are not of a real concern, the 280ZX is not a bad choice either. Davy
  10. Excellent information, Tony. Thanks for posting that. If you have the time and could scan us a photo of the "Yellow Book," that would be awesome. Cheers. Davy
  11. Eppy, glad to have you on the forum. When you log in, there is a photo album--click on that and run through the albums; tons of pics there. Also, there are several threads about 'showing off your car' or ones to that effect. Please search the archives for the threads--there should be plenty of photos for you to go through. Welcome. The Management
  12. I see enough ex cruisers running around the Bay Area that I would not hesitate to buy one, especially if $1500 buys the whole LT1 package. If it looks, sounds, and runs well, in addition to being an authentic LT1, I'd buy it an install it. Leave the diff on the chassis or sell it, but don't install a solid axle unless you 1) know what you are doing 2) will be upgrading the whole drivetrain to sick power levels in the very near future. The R200 in the rear of the Z is plenty stout to handle the power of the LT1. Davy
  13. Why Paul, that almost looks like a BB Mopar in the engine bay of a Z car! What?!? An American motor in a Z car?!!!? Why it's sacreligious I tell you! Can't be done either Nice work... Davy
  14. Yep, David Karey's work is pretty amazing. Funny, but my wife and I were discussing your photos and David's last night. Like 'em all. Davy
  15. This is such an awesome photo --- thanks for posting that DrJ! Davy
  16. This car is, well, simply amazing looking. I can't imagine all that went into the car to make it look like it does and perform like it does (assumption). Big bux is all I see. Man, I seriously like it. BTW, the Jags with the Torque Thrusts rule too Davy
  17. Wayne, I neglected to read the car's specs in your signature....yep, you have a tough cookie that'll take some serious abuse before something snaps. Quality stuff Davy
  18. Those are some unbelievable photos, guys. Everyone that posted put up some excellent work. I swear it looks professional. Just beautiful. I'm one for keeping the chick photos out of this thread personally, we already have one in the "post pics of your GF or wife" thread. Just my $.02 The nature shots and still-life photos, heck EVERY photo looks awesome. I wonder if we could make money producing posters and post cards?? You guys are GOOD! Davy
  19. Man, what a setup! BBC cubic inches in a SBC package with fuel injection...MMmmm tasty! All it needs now is one fat turbo for some boost I can hear driveline parts just snapping away! Davy
  20. Hoov has some issues. Go see Dr Ron for some straightening out :twak: Davy

  22. What?? Won't just a Ferrari Enzo do?? You might make Santa angry with all your humility lol I'll take a Long Island Iced Tea and an evening alone with the wife. Davy
  23. Mike, you might try emailing Mike at JTR---he may actually know it off the top of his head. Otherwise, hopefully someone who knows will chime in. Davy
  24. I have heard they are sourced from the same outfit. That was over 2.5 years ago though, so you never know. I received my ZG install kit from Austin and it's pretty darn cool. I think it's better than my hairbrained solution I was going to use. Davy
