  1. I agree that the look of the '72 bumper is much better and looks "tight" in comparison. Be glad MSA was incorrect and that you had no drilling to do since it saved you a bunch of time in the garage. Pics??? Davy
  2. I think that is Mikein8's -- he's posted here before and a few of the guys here have seen him run. I don't think his car is worth $80,000, but what do I know about V8Z cars? Davy
  3. I liked his Primadonna better. Davy
  4. Joe, I am sure the Japanese model companies make them and there is one that I can think of: Tamaya. The only thing is trying to buy it here in the US. Locating a kit may be difficult. I tried Googling a search, but found mostly S30 kits and other Nissan cars. Good luck. Davy
  5. "Snappy" performance by you & your Z car---serious kill indeed. He'll remember the spanking you gave him Davy
  6. Looks great installed--the car cleaned up very nicely Good work! Davy
  7. Sweeet! At first I looked at the pictures and wasn't sure what I was looking at--then I spied the "lpg." Nice workmanship and some money well spent. I'd love to hear about the dyno tests and track numbers as well when the time comes. Thanks for posting the pics! Davy
  8. BWAHAHAHAAA! OMG, WHAT A MORON! Man, that was a good read---I seriously needed that laugh. Excellent write up Davy
  9. Clean car--I'd be proud too! After not driving a Z for a while, getting back into one always gives me a slight euphoria and puts grin on my face. I love these cars. Davy
  10. Ahhhh, but they do come from the same company that builds jets! My father bought a SAAB 99 in 1972, long before fuel injection was the norm on any car---the SAAB had it and it ran like a champ. It was great in severe weather (front wheel drive) and it did well where we lived in Lake Tahoe. The thing even had heated washer nozzles and all kinds of things you find today on "modern" cars. I think they were before their time back then. I agree that the reverse/backward engine placement is strange and makes for some seriously difficult maintenance. All in all, I'm glad I don't own one. When I sold Volvos years ago, I met a few Swedes that said, "SAAB is a very strange solution to a simple problem." I'll never forget that. Davy
  11. As was stated earlier, they look great with the overall theme of the car. Nice to see something "different" on a Z car. Davy
  12. I like Castrol SuperClean for greasy steel things, but the stuff is nasty and don't ever breathe the mist if you spray the stuff--ask me how I know. It's bad for aluminum, but steel and other materials is OK. I like JohnC's list and I also use BrakeKleen for fast degreasing. Carb cleaner works, although it puts down a slightly oily film. It's better for steel in my opinion. I like Berryman's B12 chemtool for a lot of things. I wash the dog in it. Davy
  13. Wow, more magazine coverage--you must be very happy! What I would like to know is what you have planned for the car's future now that it has some notoriety in Sweden. Will you sell the car? Will you start another project? Will you make any changes with this current car? It looks like you are finally "finished." Congratulations Davy
  14. Happy Birthday, Scottie! Good to have a woman who understands you and what you want Use it!!!!!!!!!! Davy
  15. Terry, these brackets look extremely beefy (overkill?) and I'm sure they'll last longer than the rest of the car (good work by the way). What thickness of stell did you use...3/8"? I'm just curious. I always admire your car whenever I see it. Great inspiration for me Davy
  16. Mike, I remember that study and there was a huge thread here about it, but in the Chevy forum???? It was Mikelly that posted the link originally. Davy
  17. Good to see that your Z car will back in the game again. Money pit? What money pit? I think the YZ kit looks great with the HRE's of that size--they fill the wells out very nicely. Also, my gut told me you would probably go with black yet again for the color--it just makes the Z look "correct." Now, with the YZ flares, the look will be untouchable. Can't wait to see the 'finished' pics when the time comes. Thanks for the update. Davy
  18. If the scales are biased, they'll be biased the same for each block, so I doubt it matters much at all. If the bocks were put on the scales the same way, in theory you should get a good read. I bet the comparo was reasonable. It's not the first time I heard they were comparable in weight. Ron & Paul are no idiots--if they say the weight is comparable, I'm inclined to believe them...despite the bathroom scales Davy
  19. Great idea! Let your talent make money That'd be one big Elvis... Davy
  20. Ah, this will depend on the type of board you are using. If they say what you are using is waterproof, it probably is. You'll most likely need something else. Davy
  21. Serious accelleration!!! I'm impressed. I think he said 700 horsepower. I was expecting to see a jacked up off road 'truck' of a vehicle, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it. 2+2? Davy
  22. Mike, the "ZG body kit" is made up of pieces, unlike a GTO "kit" for example. I still think it qualifies. I think 'body kit' is universal speak. No biggie. Davy
  23. Man, the larger pics add some great detail to what you have already done---serious work on those headers! I'm impressed with the amount of clearance they have and the excellent transition from the other side. It looks very well thought through and I'm sure it will work well. Davy
  24. Turbo Meister, that looks beautiful! Very nicely done. I never liked the look of the whole base sticking on top of the tunnel. Your answer looks fabulous!! Davy
  25. I agree. I doubt they do alloy wheels. If anyone finds out they do, then I'm sure half of the members would take them up on it. Why not add 2 or 3 inches to the width of an alloy wheel? Davy
