  1. Im so pissed right now I'm calm. F my luck. Sounds like Valvetrain to me. http://www.flickr.com/photos/54638216@N07/8265322915/ RB30Knock.mp3
  2. mine is 10 5/8 with mckinney mounts shimmed up about 1/2 inch on drivers side.
  3. How is everyone getting traction, Ive got 17x11.5 on Kumo XT 285x35x17, probably going to put the wide flares on the rear and run some 315 or 325.
  4. Joel, is that a tigger disk I see on that crank pulley?
  5. Havent had much time to tinker. I redid the engine portion of the chassis harness and de clutered it some, got the intercooler pipes done and got my other bride seat, just waiting on the rails to get here from japan. I swapped the alternator over to the Nissan Quest 125 amp vs the 80 amp I had in there. I should make some good progress this week and this weekend.
  6. i have one of pats first pans if you need it. I ran a mckinney aluminum one.
  7. Well Im glad to see your still around. I miss seeing your rbz. I dont really have much input about this subject but the L series would seem more level headed, but not as rare. But then again sellability...
  8. ^ Yea I had to do that too, the tabs that the stock mounts bolt to are a bit in the way, i just notched them, but thats not a mckinney issue, thats a chassis thing.
  9. Well, it only took me 6 hours to get my turbo oil drain done, holy crap this closed loop is tight. Anway few pics of progress, doesnt look like much but there is so much mock up its crazy. Still have some fine tuning to do with the gauges but it will get me though crank up. Coils mounted and made some custom wires.
  10. Does anyone have the windshield that MSA sells? Curious on the quality of it. I know some reproductions are wavy. Anyone know where you can get new hatch glass with a defroster that works?
  11. Yea I am hearing that now after i bought one. It looks like its done nicely, everything ohmed out ok. To their credit this is a highly modified harness. One other problem with it is the FICD valve plug is keyed wrong so i will have to modifly that plug.
  12. I modified the mckinney trans mount pretty heavly. I would not run that mount on a trans, that being the 72 240z mount. There are a few different ones. Early model 240, later 240, then the 260/280 i think.
  13. Well, this getting dark at 5:30 crap is reallying hampering my efforts. Sent the harness back to Chase Bays. Got the downpipe finsihed last night. Now i have about 1/8" or so gap between my steering shaft and my rear wastegate outlet.
  14. Awesome, cant wait to see it on the dyno.
  15. Pretty late i would imagine. Stony, Can you not fit a 3" dp down the hole? i fit a 4" down there with plenty of room. Even put a flex pipe in it so really its 5" od right above the frame rail area....
  16. Don't think you would need much more than the gtx28 series...
  17. I would think thats getting close for 6an. Maybe im wrong, wouldnt be the first. I currently have 8an supply, 8an return (adapted down to 6 via fitting so i can change it to full 8 if need be). I ran a new 10an when i put the rb30 in but im sure thats overkill.
  18. From what i read the 3076 is kind of a missmatched turbo. I would personally stick with the gt35 if i were you.
  19. Looking good man. Is 6an fuel lines going to be big enough for your power goals (not sure what they are).
  20. Yea, I'm right there with ya on the old... Garret T04z... I have heard some horror storries about some of the percission turbos, maybe thats all in the past now. GTX40 doesnt look to bad.
  21. Awesome job. One of these days im gonna start screwing around with CF.
  22. Ill figure something out. The entire harness is has raychem on it so there is no running wires once its made. Since my coils are inside the car i think we can just remake the lower harness.
