  1. I've seen over 220 deg IAT with no IC installed... With my NPR on my ZXT, I would see maybe 20 deg above ambient after romping on it. Most of the time it was at 10-15deg above ambient. My friend modified my NPR intercooler to fit my Z better. I hope to be installing it soon. Mario
  2. The crank snout key way was also a problem to some early Miatas. I believe the say a specific kit to fix the key way in the crank for them, and that it's been used by people before. Also, some people remove the crank, take it to a machine shop, and have it rewelded and cut. Mario
  3. They have special mobile strips nowadays that use auditory signals instead of lights. Keep up with the times man My friend wants to do a KA turbo in a Z. They can push 300-350 hp reliably boosted with mild upgrades on a stock block. Mario
  4. Eastwood sells the black radiator paint that's not supposed to impede heat transfer too much. Depending on how my grill turns out I might do that to mine. Mario
  5. Sucks to hear man. Were you using a wideband to tune? I think you might have been running too much spark advance... Mario
  6. What an awesome response to such a vague question! Get a Haynes manual and an FSM. Search the forums first, then post a question if you can't find it. Welcome! Mario
  7. Scissors are great!!! Anyone play Manhunt? Mario
  8. I think I picture what you're saying, and I think that it has the possibility of looking really nice and unique. As I stated before, the huge bumper is what really erks me. Hmm, maybe we should have one of the photoshop guru's do it for you and see how it looks. I absolutely love the way the huge mouth looks on a Z (even though it is terrible for aero). Since I'm not worried about maintaining 160mph (yet), I'll leave the "shark" mouth open. If you're that worried about aero and which way to open up the cowl, I'd look at the testing data. They liked the Type III the most since it covers the front wheels better, and your idea of making the bumper detail on it smaller would make it an awesome looking airdam in my opinion. But then again this is your car, so again, sorry for the rant but do what you want! I'll def be following your build, Mario
  9. I dropped over a 1.4 seconds off the quarter on the same car just dropping in a stock turbo engine with standalone on stock boost. And I blew my headgasket on that run (due to a dying fuel pump). Its running so much better now with a new fuel pump and a nice fuel map. I should be able to break 13s now on stock boost with launch control that I'm adding soon (MegaLogviewer is computing about 220 wheel HP, car is fully stripped). If this is just some tunaz mad jdm tyte yo crowd you might stand a chance. Otherwise I think an NA full bodied ZX is going to get stomped on, considering how much cheaper it is to make a little CRX go fast. That and so far your mod list includes seat and a steering wheel cover. I'm out! Good luck! Mario
  10. Looks great but are you dead set on using that airdam? I mean I know to each their own but since the job done is so absolutely meticulous I've always found that MSA airdam overused and I can't stand the huge bumper effect on it, especially on a 240z. That and the fit on a friend's Type III is garbage... The underbody of your car is more beautiful then the top of mine! What an amazing job! Mario PS Sorry for the rant...
  11. Where's your HEI module located? Why not get together with some TX people who have done MS successfully? I know that most shops absolutely HATE dealing with stuff like this, and if they're willing to do it prepare to bend over and take it. Mario
  12. Nice! Have you considered a tripple's manifold and 2 sets of spacers? That way they are spaced out like this: [] [] [] I've always wanted to buy the ITBs and do that to them. If you're running programmable, you can do staged injectors, build an airbox, and boost it! Mario
  13. You want the large I/C as close to the radiator as possible, as the air leaving it will be very turbulent and not go through the radiator. Mario
  14. $1500 limit? Turbo Swap (just save for it, get it from cali) Drop Springs Poly bushings Struts Sways Boost 12psi and hope it holds. Or, sell the ZX and get a ZXT. Or sell the ZX and get a Z and do all of the above. Mario
  15. Yep they should. They were on his lowered 280zxt originally, and now on his 280z but he doesn't want to flair it, so he can't lower it as it will rub. Send me a PM and I'll get you in contact with him. Mario
  16. Jeez... no fair you lucky bastard... Hmm... I wonder how much shipping would be... Mario
  17. Is your car lowered? My friend has a set of 15x8 (maybe 8.5) rear and 15x7 fronts he's been trying to get rid of because they won't fit a non flaired car if it's lowered too much (unless it's a ZX, where you just have to roll the rear fender a little). Mario
  18. If you convert to a throttle cable you don't need one. Mario
  19. All I know is that the Primadonna Z is dead sexy! Congrats! Mario
  20. Is that the PTU? Don't they have a recall on that? Mario
  21. Only timing you need to worry about if you don't mess with anything is cam timing. Just scratch a place between two circles on the gear, then mark the two links that go to the left and right of that scratch. I've done it this way twice. Makes for a headgasket job in less then 2.5hrs. Mario
  22. Friday night I was texting back and forth with this girl from school when out of nowhere she stops responding. She calls me at 1am telling me she's in the hospital. She's a sorority girl and they were all traveling to a convention in California (she wasn't driving). They were in an SUV looking for an exit on the highway. One of her sisters was driving and they thought the missed and exit and try to turn but turned too hard and rolled the SUV multiple times. I believe there were 5 girls including her in that SUV. 2 Without seat belts. 1 didn't make it. The girls that weren't wearing seat belts were not seriously injured. In fact most were just bruised and maybe got a few stitches. All except for one. Mario
  23. Haha yea. I have chapter on Mondays at 7 and I'm trying to get rid of all the old crappy gas I have in it before Friday so I'm driving it everywhere. Me and my friend are installing the launch control either today or tomorrow. Can't wait for some exhaust firey goodness. Pulling out the plugs today and hoping they aren't oily. SIR has the test n tunes either on Fridays or Saturdays. They are pretty consistent about them. Have fun in Sedona! Mario
  24. Either you have MSnS-Extra on the box and installed a non MSnS-Extra configured MegaTune or vice versa. You can download all the set up files and firmware from http://www.msextra.com Mario
  25. Wow. I can't believe the cut the connector off. You'll use the 3 wire loom. It's in the sticky on how to wire I believe. It's easy though, one to ground (the black), one to 5v, one to TPS signal. If you're always in flood clear, try switching them. Mario
