  1. Looks sick V!!! I'm contemplating going flat black on my car NOW (as in near future) cuz I'm sick of all the surface rust and 100 different shades of color... I kinda want to do a themed scheme (since it will be short lived until I can afford paint). Help me out, I'm thinking SR-71 (with all those red warning signs, since black and red are my favorite colors). And my own logo on the end of the rear quarters using my own made stencil and some spray paint. Mario
  2. Why not go weigh your car (or truck in this case) at a certified scale and then come back with an engine in the back? (Just a broke college student mentality speaking ) Mario
  3. Here you can get them for <$4. I did the mod, all i had to do was slightly chamfer the edge, then I used a bench vise to press them in. Now I just have to replace the lower bushing... Mario
  4. We have a group buy for them going on here... http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=118865 I think black with gold wheels would look nice, but you should black out the trim and not polish the wheel's lip. Mario
  5. Gearbox and diff are in the back. That was such a cool show! Thanks for posting! Mario
  6. Yep, the rust is only surface rust. It is clean! It was purrrrfect but now that it's so low the frame rails have gotten a few kinks in them (curse you speed bumps and rocks!!!). Sven, I hate that trim also. I want to take it off, shave everything except the handles and quarter emblems. The interior is completely stripped. Seats are a little ripped, but not too bad, I have the full interior complete and in nice shape up at home in Flagstaff. This summer I want to rewire it, remove all the tar, and paint the whole interior. Then just lay down carpeting without sound deadening and a Kirkey road racing seat. This summer I want to do the body work, paint, and throw on a lip and spoiler based on the wind tunnel results. IF I can get the money I've got my MS'd turbo drivetrain up in Flag too, but my dad is pushing me to sell the car as a whole. I also have an Eaton M90 that I'm planning to install (eventually...). Lots and lots planned, just no money at the moment.... Mario
  7. Some of you have seen pics of my rusty Z before, but I've never put any online with my new wheels/tire combo. Anyways, enjoy my rusty Z! Meet Mr. Me Too: Rusty Zs always look better at night: Thanks for looking, Mario PS Post pics of your rusty Zs!
  8. On my turbo ZX, upped the boost, which burnt the clutch. Upgraded the clutch to a six puck, ripped a diff mount. New diff mount now the driveshaft u-joints are clunking... When will it end?? Mario
  9. The battery might be bad. (As shown by the low voltage under load). Try jumping it with some good cables. Batteries should be around +13v when in good shape. Mario
  10. Here's a way to get through BUT you can't log in. Last I remember in highschool we would use translators, such as worldlingo.com, to translate a site from english to english. That would get through websense and they wouldn't block worldlingo because it is a legit site. You could use proxies, BUT some companies have rules for going through thier websence. A free trial of one a friend would use: https://www.megaproxy.com In fact, I think you should be ok using a secure site (httpS). This is what I used to use: https://proxify.com/ Dunno if they charge anymore. It used to be free, then they started charging, but that was a REALLY long time ago. Most of these just give you a certain amount of MB you can download in a set period (aka don't go into too many photo threads). Mario
  11. Well, since you can switch everything to something MAP based, maybe you can wire a switch (momentary) and resistor and use that as a fake TPS. Just push it down when you want to enable flood clear mode. I liked MAP based because my throttle is really touchy and sometimes the car would buck a little. Switching it to MAP based stopped that. Mario
  12. Cool cool, I already have a bunch of Z people on my aim. AIM: Maf00se MSN: supermar10 ( at ) hotmail.com Yahoo: mafoose_zxt I've helped quite a few people with MS over aim Mario
  13. It's in a 240z right? What are you using for the fuel and return lines? The original carb'd source line is too small for some applications, most people swap the source and return lines. Mario
  14. I think NISMO offers the longer studs. Replacement intructions should be in any of the repair manuals, probably in the archives as well. I think it's the rear ones that are hard, but Tony D has (or had) a pictorial on how to do it on cardomain.com. It involved drilling a hole in the backing plate so that you didn't have to disassemble the whole thing. Mario
  15. I've hit 28 mpg with the STOCK EFI on my 78 280z (early 5 speed swap with a 3.54 rear). Bumperless, lowered, and only seats and a dashboard (plus luggage cuz I was moving into my dorm) probably cruising 85mph. With the 4 speed, I've gotten 22-24 highway cruising at +4.5k rpms (I really want a 5 speed again!). City I've gotten low 20s before, but now my driving style and the 4 speed keep it around 16 city I think 1 fast Z has hit ~30mpg (maybe more) with megasquirt and ITBs running very lean at highway cruise. I think Tony D has posted about some nice numbers from webers either here or on zcar.com.
  16. Ooops, I was wrong. http://www.nelsonracingengines.com/videos/turbo/427SBTT06HIGH.wmv It's on the engine dyno. Jeez I've watched too many videos... Mario
  17. I'm not gonna lie, that's what I thought you meant originally. I remember when this video originally came out in streetfire there was actually oil dripping from somewhere at the end of the run. Still, 2k horsepower?!?! Mario
  18. I was probably one of the ones that said a local parts store. This is a LOCALLY OWNED store that has a lot of truck accessories. The flaired fitting was the right size and the length was almost perfect, just a little longer then stock. I suggest you shop around, it only cost like ~$10 if that, and it looks completely stock. Mario
  19. That was cool! Does anyone know what show the clip was from? Mario
  20. The indents on the front are what he's talking about I think, and they look silly unless the car is so low you can't notice the bottom valance's indents. I'd get a front lip along with the bumpers for a more complete and stylish look. Mario
  21. Tim-may!!!!!! Nice looking and sounding Z! Mario
  22. That was awesome! Talk about some quick shifts and close calls! Mario
