  1. About things talked about earlier on the thread, a lot of turbo dodge guy's run the BOV on the hot pipe before the IC. That's how I have mine on my ZX with no ill effect. I have the RFL and its a lot a fun to set off, but I wish it had the high pitched wistle some of the bov's have. On the thing about the recirc, I think it has to be plumbed pre-turbo and be directed at the turbine or something. On running rich, that usually happens on AFM and MAF systems. I have MS, which is map based and I don't run into the problem. On the stock turbo ECU people generally have a black cloud exit when they shift or the car falls on its face. Mario
  2. Sweet! What manifold (both intake and exhaust) is that? Mario
  3. Depends on the price, being a poor college student and all.... But yea, count me in! Mario
  4. Complaing about noise in the garage??? Come on! Just check to see if the complex has quiet hours or anything like that, and also, at least in my hometown, anything before 8-9 that us THAT noisy the police don't care about. We had the cops called on us at 5pm because we were having a barbeque in a friend's backyard and playing some music that was all that loud. The cop just came, told us about the complaint, laughed, and left.... I hate those kinds of neighbors.... Not to thread jack, but where in Chicago are you? I'm in Evanston, but sadly with no Zs. Mario
  5. That looks like it'd be either insanely fun or insanely scary to drive.... Mario
  6. What we need to work on is getting it subtitled! Hmm, I wonder if one of my Japanese speaking friends would be up to it..... Mario
  7. utorrent is the best. Not a resource hog and fully featured. Mario
  8. At my college they only teach Unigraphics, which hasn't even been mentioned here. Is it that bad?? lol Mario
  9. Yep, they are powered. Meaning if you had no cat (maybe muffler too) it could go in the way back. Can SDS not use a WBO2? Mario
  10. I think they are fixing that. I hope so at least for $150.... Mario
  11. What's your plug gap? How are your plugs? Plug wires? Maybe ohm them out, check for damage. Mario
  12. Go with MS-I, that way you can run MegaSquirt'n'Spark-Extra, which has more features then MSII. You can make the harness pretty easily. You tune MS with a laptop, and you can monitor it too, but the laptop is not required to stay in the car. Once it is tuned, it runs by itself, the laptop is just for instrumentation and tuning, as well as diagnostic. Please search, there is a wealth of information in the MS section here. Good luck, Mario
  13. Read a lot about it, and even saw the Top Gear episode. That thing is a beast! Other facts I picked up from Motortrend: 1) Audio system is worth $30k 2) With the TCS off, it will spin ALL 4 tires in 3rd gear. I want to see one in person, there are a lot of cars out there that look much better in person, and I believe this is one of them. Mario
  14. I have no personal experience with this in particular, but I know the 280z tach are triggered from the (-) side of the coil. But then again, they've been known to be inaccurate. Why not replace it? Someone on here got a smaller tach and placed it in the stock location. Looks great and is accurate. Just my opinion, Mario
  15. I think the Nissan sensor that works is the 240sx tranny one, I don't know if it requires modification or not. Regardless that way seems good, I can't wait to see the Z "finished". Mario
  16. I have the Exedy clutch and PP and I don't know if its lack of break in (only about 300-400 miles on it) or the fact that my car isn't making stock power anymore, but it doesn't seem like its going to hold up too long. Sometimes it slips, sometimes it doesn't.... But anyways, isn't it the PP that creates a stiff pedal? Mario
  17. When I reassembled mine on my 280z, you could actually hear the rear adjusters clicking when I pulled the parking brake handle. My handle comes up quite a bit, but the parking break holds good. Pedal feel is better then my ZXs, but the fronts squeal quite a bit. I also need shims and I need to regrease them. Mario
  18. Nice project! With that WBO2 setup I doubt you'll have much trouble tuning it. As for it starting right up, Tony D mentioned something about that before... Intake looks awesome, as does the minimalistic engine bay. What are you thinking in terms of suspension? I'm restoring the suspension on my 78, but I don't know whether to go coilovers or just springs and shocks. Good luck on the project! Mario
  19. http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/setup-msns.html Scroll down to: Dumb modules / VB921 IGBT - preferred method That's what you need to do to build it. This method requires no HEI module, yet I beleive only one person on here has gotten it to work, and the spark was weak. I'm gonna try this for my board, but this won't happen till the summer when I come back from school. Mario
  20. Try this, put the lever like if the right turn signals are on, and then push on the back side of the switch. If its like mine, the right turn signal should turn on. I've tried quite a bit to fix this, including complete dissassembly and cleaning/adjusting of the mechanism, but the only thing that seems like it will work is to build a backing plate that will put pressure on the center contact of the switch. Mario
  21. Does the ZXT have the stock ECU? If so, it won't work, since it needs to be locked (no advance) if its an 81, or in needs the CAS inside it if its a 82 or 83. If you are putting a turbo dizzy on an NA car with stock electronics, it won't work since it has no mechanical or vacuum advance. Mario
  22. What's your plug gap? Moby's map is pretty good as far as spark I think, I've only retarded mine a bit in the higher boost part, but nothing major. Mario
  23. LOL They are 15x8.5, but with a custom offset for GTO replicas. I was hoping to use them but it looks like I won't with some serious body mods, so I think they're up for sale The fronts don't have as much of a dish, again, these wheels were offered by VR engineering for their GTO kits. Any ideas on what they're worth? All four have never even had tires mounted, they are still in their original boxes. I'll include lug nuts and a set of locking ones too. Thanks, Mario
