Mikelly
Those cars have pretty decent aerodynamics. Not great, but not like a Datsun Zcar either... Mike
Polarity
Did I miss the part in the video where it actually showed proof he was doing 199 or are we just going by the fact that he says 199 on his youtube video? -polarity

Here's the video of Frank Pompilios Mustang I was talking about: This was at Toronto Motorsports Park, which is about 45 minutes from me and where the pic in my avatar was taken. There's also others on You tube from other races and tracks.
Polarity
I've never gone anywhere close to 199 to have any idea what it would look like, but on youtube I can find videos of a chicken playing the harmonica if I looked hard enough. I don't really believe most of the stuff that is on there. -polarity
Mikelly
I've been over 185MPH several times in my 650HP Porsche 911 Turbo and that Camaro "looks" to be running pretty damned fast... Mike

Mikelly
This is the most realistic and accurate post in this thread! Data is what it's all about. If you can't "prove it", then you didn't "do it". Mike Hi I have a standard 1983 280zx 2+2, non-turbo, 3-speed automatic, wheels cooper trendsetter 195-75-r14, rear end standard R-200. Chaparral2f
The best speed I managed was 108 in '78 Kenworth in 1985. Verified by a nice man in a Wyoming highway patrol car. Don't even ask how much that little bit of stupidity cost.

Mikelly
That there be 145mph??? Mike
Chaparral2f
Fifteen double over? jt KTA600 Cummins, with a "4" button (fuel pump return pressure mod) It made about 700hp 5spd overdrive main box, 4spd overdrive brownie so it was a true "double over" It would pass anything but a fuel stop
8DC
I hit the cut off in my Cadillac CTS at 148mph. I've had my Dodge Magnum R/T up past 140mph and it was still climbing steadily when I backed off. Not bad for a 2 ton brick. ...the 280z? 80 or 90 is the most I've braved with the condition it's in. lol Edited March 15, 2012 by 8DC
GOTHALOSISM
In my lt1 swapped zed I go so fast that my speedo stays at zero! Maybe I should get it connected for once?
