jmark06
Has anyone tried this fan or have an opinion on it for a stock turbo radiator to fit ic piping? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8058785556&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

nienberg.11
I've never wanted to upgrade from the belt driven fan, but if something that cheap could do a better job, why not.
olie05
You won't find a better deal on a new fan. I picked mine up used, for less than half of what you're looking at. Mine is also smaller though. It will definitely be an upgrade from the stocker.
blake culp
I have a 14" electric fan on mine and it sticks out about three inches, as far as IC piping the main thing is a electric fan removes the stock fan shroud , that really frees up a lot of space. Im sure that fan would work good. Blake
BillZ260
I've got the 16", moves alot of air off the battery charger. Don't have a running car so I can't attest to the actual cooling abilities but it's cheap!
goodoldjam
How many amps do you guys think that draws?
Austenp405
I ordered one to replace mine that just went out. It should be here by Friday and I'll let you guys know how it goes.
dapiper
My 16" Staul (??) pulls 18A.
Hugh
Thats a darn good deal, and it looks about the same as the one I'm running in my car. I know mine was like ~$70 at the auto parts store. Can't beat $35!
Guest ZFury
I have that same fan. It works great. Really is prolly' more than needed. It will pop 20a fuses from time to time, but not 30's. Will also melt average switches. My guess is that it is just below 20a when running. Here is an old pic of mine.
sims76
I also ordered one, thanks for the heads up.
wigenOut-S30
if you put a relay on the fan / switch that should solve any switch burning problems as well as fuse popping Issues. it looks like a decent fan. I run dual hayden 12" fans. through a relay and remote switch. They were great.
Guest ZFury
Yeah... I just finally got a heavy duty switch, works fine now. Though I was thinking about using a relay.
cygnusx1
I've got a VERY similar Mr. Gasket fan 16" on mine. I have Intercooler/OilCooler/AC Condenser/Radiator all stacked up front and the car tends to run cool even at 15psi boost and in traffic. That looks like a great deal since I paid $80 for mine. Mine came with an adjustable temperature fan controller and relay though.
goodoldjam
Well i Bought one to the other day. Man jmark that guy should of gave you a discount with all the business you gave him by posting lol.
sims76
I got the 16" one from this guy. I hotwired it to a battery just to test it out and it almost sucked my shirt off my chest into the fan. Yikes. These things move some air.
goodoldjam
Got the fan today. You were right i hooked it up to a battery box in the house and it almost knocked over a chair. Only bad thing mine got a crack right under one of the mounting holes. Since its a clean crack ill just use contact cement or something, not worth shipping it back. Bartman
Mine should be here next week. I was using a Taurus Fan, but now I need a little extra clearance and this one should give me what I need. If I still need more cooling power I'll add a couple of 12 inchers between the AC Condensor and the radiator. I wonder if fabbing up some type of shroud would make it work better? I know that a shroud forces air to be pulled through the radiator, but when the fan is mounted directly to the radiator is it necessary? There are a couple of posts where people talk about the Taurus Fans working better when the shrouds are sealed to the radiator.
Marc280
I've got one of those fans on my 280zx and it works great! Pulls a lot more air through the radiator than the stock setup and gets rid of that annoying noise when you give it a rev. I used a Davies Craig Thermatic Switch as well which means you can control exactly what temp you want it to come on and off at too. Would definitely reccomend it.
