iaconsultants
I vote for a LS motor with twin turbo's and a Corvette transaxel. All wheel drive would be slick also.
dr_hunt
Those buick V6's are something!
rudypoochris
Depends what the car will be used for? I think a rotary would be cool, but ultimately the SBC would make the best cost and performance. If you stop at/before 500hp then go with the SBF 5.0L. If you are really daring though, Audi 5 Cylinder. With or without the AWD.
Boobala
Either LS__ or RB26DETT.
zero
ooooh what about a megasquirted 327 with individual throttle bodies or a 1uz-fe with the same.
olie05
mmm itbs on a v8. that is the sex. I could see the airhorns just poking out of the hood...
WickedWild
Something different. Buick V-6 SII N/A with 250-shot. 750RWHP @ 8500 and that HP level will barely get that engines attention. Throw a Glide behind it' date=' slam it up against the firewall and watch people giggle when you pop the hood then scratch their heads when it goes low-8s (assumes 2500#) and you put air in the ET Streets and drive it home. Since you are not going to turbo it, it should be much cheaper & stronger than a SBC at that power level.[/quote'] The more I think about it the more I like this idea. With a stealth N2O system completely hidden you would confuse everyone.
260DET
RB30 block with a RB26 head, GT35R turbo. Its a Nissan 6 engine so the heritage is there, 3 liters capacity ups the torque so an excellent daily driver or competition car. Just remember to change to better rods ~500hp, the stock ones start to bend Hybrid engine for the win
RaysirX
I vote for an LS2 stroked to 427cid and add a magna-charger supercharger on it.

buZy
Aluminum SBC all the way! How about well tuned carbed LS2. Now that would be cool to see how it is done, the right way.

materchan
junkyard sbf with a big single turbo running megasquirt. just get a big diesel turbo and there you have a $2000 500hp/tq that if any part breaks, off to the junkyard you go. this is coming from a cheap person so your ideas may differ. Twoeightnine
Because of the camp that it is comming out of.....TT SBC!
Alex_V
VQ30DE, strong as hell, and cheap and every where. I think there good till about 450WHP or so in maximas. Alot of guys are putting the 3L and 3.5L VQ's in s13's and S14's (im putting a 3L into my s13 in the next few weeks). You have to use the z33 oil pan and tranny but its a 6 speed and they are cheap. Oh and the 3L and 3.5L bolt up the same for trannys, IM's and are the same external dimensions pretty much. TT the VQ30DE and have some fun! It may have 10:1 comp but they love boost. Plus the VQ30DE weighs about 75lb or so less then my KA24E, and its shorter. My weight is going be in the middle of my car:) ~Alex
