big-phil
Check this out, I got a set of bf Goodrich comp Ta's ZR 245/45ZR-16 for $225 off e-bay about 45 miles from my house. The are about $175 each new. AND, they still have the nipples on them! less than 200 miles on them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290087048105&rd=1,1 They fit with no spacers, no rubbing. I had to grind off about a thick washers worth of material off the front wheel hub axel. Then hammer in the wheel bearing cap so that the cap on the wheels would fit and not pop off when the wheel was mounted.

I can see Phil singing, "The wheels on my Z go round and round, round and round," with a big smile on his face as he walks next to his car rolling, I mean ghost riding the whip...lol! New2TheZ2006
here here, one more vote for Phils awesome ride. Me too soon, need wheels but anyone got info on what clears a stock suspension setup with the rims in the group buy?

Thats what I got, the sportmax group buy. 16x8 I have stock susspension and they just barely clear with the 245/45-16.

I'm a little confused by that.
Mikelly
Looks good Phil... Drop it an inch and it'll look Peeeeerrrrrrrrrpheeeeecccctttt! Don't forget to trim the bumpstops about an inch when you lower it! Mike
big-phil
Do you have pics of what you had to grind off in order to make these fit? I'm a little confused by that. picture this, if you take off your front wheel. You can see in the center of the hub the little round cover that covers the wheel bearings. If you take that off to expose the wheel bearings, and axle that the bearings, and brake rotor slide onto. Well that axle sticks out JUST enough that when I bolted the wheel on the center cap (of the tire) popped off. So I took a hammer and tapped in on the dust cap that covers the wheel bearings, but it was not enough. So I grinded off a "weee" bit of the axle so that the dust cap could be tapped in a "weee" bit more so the tire could be mounted and the center cap on the sportmax wheel would not hit the dust cap on the car and pop off. Make sense??
cygnusx1
Looks awesome! So I gues with the 245's on there we will have less, "Second gear at 30mph slideways videos." I cant wait until the darn ice melts and my car gets out of ice prison.
