  1. Oh I was thinking of the rb26 . You're right.
  2. Why not canada? I know for a fact that they have r32s. Would be cheaper on shipping.
  3. I don't have a RB, so I'm no expert. But I think you have to add more piping with that IC with a RB engine because the exhaust and intake are on opposing sides. I think that would be more Ideal for a L6 turbo though, since the intake and exhaust are on the same side, But I do also think it will restrick air flow a little because the air circulation has to move so abruptly to move 180 degrees.
  4. Thanks I found it online a while ago (I don't take credit) I did make my own CG version but it wasn't as good. Well for the dyno the person I discussed about importing was an IM ref and said that it would be for recording HP but I don't see why they would need such info, except for insurence stuff.
  5. I modified the stock rails to have a ford f150 seat fit. That seat was freakin heavy and only did it so I could drive it home because there was no driver seat, and moving the pass seat over to the drive, the trans tunnel got in the way of the reclining latch from locking. fit pretty well though, but my head was 2 inches from the roof, I'm short (5'6").
  6. Where can I get some ZR? No one in the state sells it, from looking at the retailers on ZR's website.
  7. yeah price inflation that they were charging was riditulous. I know some people in canada and they were saying that the r32 cost something like $7,000 CND used, but the problem to owning one were the insurence premiums. I've been told, as far as immissions go in alaska, that you are legally allowed to drive one if you have a "summer use only" pass on the car. This would mean that you wouldn't need to go through immission and just need a dyno run (for some reason) and that yuo would only be able to drive it from april 15 through september 15 (what a shame, AWD and can't drive in the winter).
  8. Anybody try to make there own seat from the stock pieces or a none reclining one? Or modified the stock ones? I am considering it because getting race seats shipped up here is gonna cost an arm and a leg to alaska and I feel warry of ordering seats that I've never sat in before.
  9. I guess you're right. I think that that smog exempt article I read was a bit out of date. But if the items you are replacing has a carb 0E number then that mean its a legal replacment. I've actually dicussed this topic in refference to a RB swap with a IM reff, who also transfered me to a cali IM reff, and they both stated the as long as it has a 0E number then its ok. That part of the reason why a skyline cost so much to import. They swap most of the immissions stuff with one that are US legal, on top of shipping to and from texas and labor cost (from my understanding).
  10. All you have to do is ask them, by what rules and regulations for everything that they point out, even ask them to bust out with the regulation book and say you can wait. If they can't state anything in accordence with the book then they can't do anything. If they're being jack*** and still persist on giving you a sitaction then just start saying the CARB 0E number for each of the parts that they point out. They probably won't know what it means but then you can explain to them what it means and show them you know more about whats "street legal" then they do. Only thing that I can see that would stick on the civic would be the intake manifold because os smog stuff, maybe the tail lights because of needing red reflectors but thats nothing. Plus in california, theres a bill that says that any car 30 years or older doesn't need to be inspected. I remember because there was another bill to change it to 45 years and everybody made a big fuss about it, that bill didn't pass.
  11. Lol I saw Datsun wrist bands at Hot topic a while ago.
  12. I like how they added a little bit over the area where the front side markers are, but that grille gots to go, whether or not it was for lights IMO.
  13. Did the turbo have any play to the shaft? Pretty sure that it needs rebuilding. Good luck on finding someone to balance it. (Up here, there only places that balance desiel turbos and all others have to be sent to texas of all places, $$$$)
  14. Glad I live in Alaska lol. Gives me some insight on how to cover up some things to, lol. That blue hose is crap. You can easily so that, that what pepboys had to replace a vacuum line (If you remove the breather). I doubt that any of them would know the engine layout, except the basics on a datsun, plus most of that would help smog legality on a dstsun lol.
  15. Are you talking about the sound deadener? If so, its been discussed before. Dry-ice, paint scraper, and a hammer.
  16. I've just noticed. On the wind tunnel pic, they are only testing the area fromt he leading edge upward and not testing the lower portion.
  17. The leading edge of the front of the hood isn't really a U shape its more of a right angle. I think you can make something light that from some angle alluminum from like Homdepot with a little grinding.
  18. Ouch. So are you goning to have to replace the preasure plate and flywheel? So what clutch are you going to rreplacing it with?
  19. calculateing MPG are ball park numbers anyways. It can change due to how one drive the car. I think your numbers are pretty valid.
  20. I think if you get some channeled alluminum and stacking it, you might get the same effect.
