  1. Thats a model. Could be based off a manga. I would be all over that. The site is korean
  2. 77 as in stated model year or production date? This might help. http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/enginedesign/
  3. I have a vacuum unit it if you want it. still works, minumal (sp, I'm tired) rust, easily taken off with a wire brush. PM me if you're interested.
  4. I assuming you have a L28et with MAF and z31 ecu. If i recall two of the injectors should be switched from the order they are on the z31, I don't remember which ones though.
  5. In short, the engine you have now would need a engine rebuild. I don't know either why the flat top carbs are unwanted, I just get that impresion on almost every post about the carbs, maybe because all the L26 engines came with them, and then through association. I think you can get the most HP with carbs than EFI without that many costly modifications.
  6. To give you an idea. I paid $400 for my 76 280z. It needed body repair, little rust and was an automatic. i wouldn't go any higher than $700.
  7. I was offered to buy a 944 non turbo for $1,500. It need a engine rebuild so I said no. they are ok cars but cost for parts is a pain. I would rather do an engine swap with something non porsche just to off set maintainence cost, regaurdless of HP after.
  8. I have no idea about VA emissions but I've read that the cat thing is a federal law, but only applies to the engine. So a engine swap from one with out it (most federal model) wouldn'r need it, but it is supposedly illegal to do a swap with an engine older than the car, but with these cars I don't think anyone cares.
  9. Actually the 240z su round top carbs can go for a pretty penny. I suggest you rebuild the carbs, and a oil change if you haven't already. See if the head bolts need to be retorque. Wiring is totally different between the 240z and 280z if you want to go EFI. the L26 uses carbs but is bogged down with emissions crap. If you do want to do an engine swap with a L6, then I suggest you get a L28 non turbo engine and take off all the EFI stuff (basically all the stuff mounted on the intake manifold) and mount the carbs on there.
  10. the maxima head has the casting number N47 even though many people on here call it the MN47. the chamber design it much like the P79/P90 heads and if I remember reading it correctly, its a little taller than the normal L6 heads.
  11. I would still grab the wiring harness anyways. Its not like the wreckers is going to have much use with it without and engine and it will help with wireing refference.
  12. Just hope its just the head gasket (which I assume it probably is).
  13. I have a N42 head that came with steal seats (unleaded). I guess less work for me .
  14. I've also read somewhere that the throw out bearing would have to match the model the clutch/presure plate were made for.
  15. Not bad. How about some cadillac tail lights. What I mean is to 2 sets and rotate them 90 degrees. See normally they would be verticle
  16. Honestly I don't think it will look good, because the proportions are off. the F1 is such a low and wide car, compared to a datsun. It would look rather strange IMO. I hope you prove me wrong.
  17. Sorry I think I miss typed it. I'm tired.
  18. He said that it doesn't crank. So one of the problems is electrical. Try getting new battery terminal and cables, clean the connection to the starter and test to see if the starter is good. And I think replacing the starter relay would help, it probably needs to be replaced anyways. edit: you can get the starter tested at NAPA, schucks or any of those types of places. don't know if they charge for a test.
  19. Thats also why i carry a tape recorder. Thinking about the cop in Zforce's story, that cop was an idiot, not because of the all the idiot assumptions he made but that he made that asumptions when he had the registration in hand and didn't check it with the VIN and started blurting out assumption (as Zforce tells it). Normal Cops I don't mind, but "quota cops" I dispise. They don't really do anything but sit there in there "secret hiding spots" with there radar guns in hand.
  20. Good thing I asked, lol. on there homepage it siad that they weren't mailing there products inless it was a retailer or somthing like that, thats why I asked. JC whitney is always having some sale. When I went there they saying FREE SHIPPING then for purchases over $75. But I think its going to cost the same for me either way because the extra shipping charge to alaska.
  21. So what would you guys recommend for us less knowlegable people? Would you recommend resurfacing the flywheel or just replacing it? I would like to know before I start rebuilding one of the two L28 I have.
  22. No its off a game. lol. Although not a very good game but its has a turbo 280z . I though the video I posted was down, I guess they put it back up.
  23. Moral of the story is, Don't be a ricer. lol Zforce you know that you could of disputed the sitation at the inspection since they had pics of the engine at the time the sitation was issued. Proves what I stated earlier (at least in this case). That guy might have been a "quota cop" where they have to issue a certain amount of tickets per month. You can always tell (at least up here) because they all procrastinate and they always patrolling at the end of the month.
