  1. engine serial # is on Passenger side and will read L24 0r L26 or L28 with a space followed by the serial #'s
  2. on the engine block above the starter is the engine serial # beginning with either L 24, L 26 or L 28... ie L 28 is a 2800 cc engine. You have the good early round top SU carbs..and appears to be of 1970-71 by the gizmos on the balance tube and the exhaust manifold appears of the same vintage
  3. Hot Rods... I thought Boyd Coddington had the only franchise for such things to clone !
  4. upgrade the GNZ to some electric door locks, air conditionig and more comfortable seats and modern headlights and let your imagination run wild.......

  7. The TV show hit home in Oregon... A guard at the federal Correctional Facility in Sheridan, Oregon abducted a youg halfway house worker and took her to the woods some perverted R & R on his day off. He left her for dead and unsuceesfully buried. She stumbled out on a logging road and was rescued by a forest worker. From the time spent with him, she was able to give a rather accurate composite drawing. He was arrested on the job at the prison. He was arraigned in court on the same day, he was to be sentenced for choking another woman. Warden Charlie Daniels allowed this sick bastard to work knowing about his former assault conviction and pending sentence. I will try to find the website and post about this incident. Keep in mind a guard's duty is to control inmates....seems this creep was getting on the job training as a stalker. I went in this "place" with one guard blowing his brain out in the parking lot and left with the pervert awaiting trial. Go to post # 62 (Lady Bug) and click on news web page http://www.webbsleuths.org/dcforum/DCForumID38/18.html#62
  8. I would also agree to sleeving one cyl..... Are not all ZX blocks equal or basically the same??? with the internals and head slightly different....
  9. Mike ..your list indicates that you have not frozen the car yet. You need to dismantle the entire car and rotate each piece through the freezer compartment of the refrigerator after saying two hail maryz
  10. on the front there is the large strut mounting insulator followed by a thrust bearing and then a rubber bumper....and the rear should be the same order
  11. Good luck and be your nicest and sweetessssssssst in court at mediation
  12. Extended the stock gas filler by cutting the top off one stock gas filler tube (gas cap twist piece on top of filler tube) and welding it to a exhaust pipe reducer (small end). I cut and angled the the large end of the exhaust pipe reducer to effect a bend and placed the angled end over the top of the unmodified stock gas filler and welded it on to finish the extension .....see pictures http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/larryjohnson97438/album?.dir=/8223&urlhint=actn,ren%3as,5%3af,0
  13. Congrats !!!!!!! Jared..... Nothing more frustrating than fussing with butchered wiring in a car. HINT ...You can use the camera cell phone and open a Yahoo picteres account to post pictures. I use a lttle "disposable" camera no bigger than a folding pocket knife to take pictures and post http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/larryjohnson97438/album?.dir=8223&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos
  14. This business just got started. Ocbaar figured up after the $3995.00 initial price, the accessories would run $11,000.00 to dress the kit out. Too bad abiut the business being sold.
  15. In Eugene Oregon, the big pick and pull has the business and is now raising prices. I began going elsewhere where my business is apreciated. The a** holes still quote a lower price on the phone than at the yard.
  16. That was the former vehicle, Elvis Presley used to transport himslf between Graceland and Heaven until Jerry Springer did a special on "Elvis sightings"
  17. A bad ignition switch will cause the headlights to dim while applying the brakes
  18. Jon.. do you have any pics of your slotting modification ? Your instrucrions were quite detailed but I am only rememberig .000000005 % of what I read these days. I moved up my pivot point 15/16 ths on the Tomahawk project which required some modification to the lower control arm to ride that high. I removed the whole sub frame to relocate the pivot point. After completed with sectioned struts, lowered and tires the control arm (tranverse link) was positioned in a horizontal position close to stock. I would like to try your slotting method on the GTO project. I have some camber plates (Tomahawk project) for a later install since they woulfd drop the car another 2 inches.
  19. Mike.. weigh yourself on the bathroom scales, put all that crap in a back strapped to you and re-weigh yourself and do the math.. With condensor about 70 pounds. The condensor will hit close to 20# and the water in the heater core accounts
  20. I once bought a junker of a Datsun 620 pick-up for parts that had another cab roof tacked on it and the rust in the radiator was like red mud. I drove it home and noticed that the engine was tight. The odometer showed 15,000 plus miles and the body showed multiple wrecks. Other than body damage..no wrench had ever touched that pick-up before I dismantled it...the engine and running gear were like new. The low mileage was accurate though the former owner never drove it and did not make this claim....I figured that after so many accidents, the pick-up never saw much of the street or mileage..
  21. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/larryjohnson97438/detail?.dir=8223&.dnm=ab81.jpg&.src=ph I have a set of Qa1 12 inch progressive coilover springs (130/250 front and 175/350 rear). I intend to install these on my 78 280 Z / 250 GTO project with 2 inch sectioned struts and temporarily KYB GR2 cartridge struts prior to Illumona's. I have the complete Energy Suspension bushing set and plan to install 2+2 sway bars. Absolutely no track service for this car. Has Anyone used progressive adjustable coilovers ? Any opinions ? http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/larryjohnson97438/album?.dir=8223&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos
  22. Looks like the dual purpose ultra rare 3/8 mm negative offset pre G nose "bread and baloney slicer" hinges. Could be removed from the vehicle for dellcatessen service.
  23. The NOS bothers me and with the engine mods.. why a bottom output 600 CFM Edlebrock carb...Looks JTR.............Moon roof.value dropper..... My gut reaction is see this car in person for a thorough inspection.....somthing screams .."had the holy piss ran out of it"!!!!!
  24. 12 inches ..great! Were your struts sectioned???? I can eyeball your set-up to visually locate the spring perch for my 12 inch QA1 progressive coilovers. I have done 10 inches but decided without the chance of using modern FWD wheels on a classic GTO 250 there was no need for 10 inch. I plan to section my struts http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/larryjohnson97438/album?.dir=/8223&urlhint=actn,ren%3as,1%3af,0
  25. There is a website linked to the e-Bay auction....seems interesting and apparently their technology has now been adapted to the Z car besides other vehicles. Someone check out their website and interpret for me and others who do not know much about fuel injection
