  1. Most of my furniture LOL, no j/k.
  2. Don't want to hijack the tread but, Veritech, that front end of your is looking very nice... I really like the bullet style mirrors specially if mounted on the doors, not too fond of fender mirrors. http://www.alfacybersite.com/ACSTalbo.html Toyota tercel mirrors have been used in the past and it looks quite good. Here's the link:http://mywebpages.comcast.net/pparaska/TercelMirrorMounting.htm Motorcycle mirrors have also been used with good results.
  3. You can also get the GOOGLE TOOL BAR, it contains a spelling checker, that's what I use and it works great.
  4. I mean shipping for free, the dash, I'll sell but, since I payed only $500 for the lot, I won't ask for much, if I can only recoup my money selling a part here and there, I'll be happy, I'm not looking at making money on a fellow HybridZer's back. There is a dent in the dash from being stacked in the guy's garage with other parts but, I can get it fixed for cheap as one of my friend's girlfriend is starting a business in car interior repair and it would probably be good practice for her. The work they do is amazing. She said she could fix my BADDLY cracked S30 dash and nobody would ever know it's been fixed. I'll let you know. I could even ask her if she can stain it the color you want before shipping if you're willing.
  5. Take a look at soda blasting, I read a lot about this subject and IIRC, I read something about WET soda blasting. Soda blasting is neither armful to your health nor the environment plus, since it dissolve in water, you can just wash it away and you'll only be left with what you blasted off to pick up. One nice side effect is that as long as you leave it on the surface you're working on, it gives a good rust proofing cause, rust is an acid & soda is a base so, they kinda cancel each other. Just run a search on soda blasting here on HZ, I started a few treads on the subject. Also take a look at these.: http://www.sodablast.ca/ http://www.natriumsodablast.com/ http://www.sodablasting.com/
  6. Blue leather. The blue is not too dark so, it could probably be stained any color you'd like. I live in Canada so, shipping could get a bit pricy but, I do have "snowbird" familly members who spend winter in Florida so, I might be able to arange something for very cheap, like FREE and just pay gas for the detour if you're far off there path.
  7. If you ever need Z31 parts I have a whole car minus the shell and seats, I wanted the Diff. since it's an 87 turbo and the guy was moving, he wouldn't sell me only the Diff. I have the dash, electric struts, rear sub.frame, complete uncut body harness, engine with turbo and uncut harness. The guy bought a stolen/found car at auction to put it in a 510 but, ended up just restoring the 510 cause it was to clean to butcher up... Anywayz me like Z31s and wish you all the best in your project. Keep us posted.
  8. I'm sorry here but, I think I'm not following... You had a chance to buy what? The guy backed out from what? Me frenchy, me not always get it...
  9. I like ALL Z just happen to like the S30 the most. When I was a kid my grand mother's boyfriend had a black turbo Z31 with the variable struts and leather interior. Let me tell you, I felt like a MILLION $ when he would drop by to pick me up from school. All the other kids would just be WOAH!!!! that's your GrandPa!?!?!?!?! YUP!!!!!!
  10. If you do buy a used one, you better buy a BMW certified from the dealership, as the certified vehicles we sell have the same warranty as a new car. When used bimmers get out of warranty, they are insanely expensive to keep in good repair. Just an example here, a catalyzer for a E46 is about $1500, the straight six has 2 of them, on the E90 335, the turbo comes only with the catalyzer so, if one cat. goes bad, you'll probably be looking at something like $4000 for only 1 turbine/cat., if the two goes south, you're near 10 grands as these variable intake nozzle turbines are out of price. Most people who think that they made a good deal buying there bimmer from the used car lot, often want to hang themselves when they come to see us to get there new baby inspected and learn that they have anywhere between 2 & 10 grands to put in, to bring it back to it's original splendor.
  11. I thought it was 88 LOL, maybe we're all in the ditch here.
  12. Wow, I just read this message as I was out of town for Champ Car in Mt-Tremblant this week-end. I'm really sad to hear about that Ernie, I wish it could be otherwise. I really enjoyed when we exchanged trough e-mail and you support as a friend, even though we never met in person, really helped me pull trough a rough time. Your past life experiences have showed me that there's always light at the end of the tunnel and it's not always a train coming head-on. I hope we can keep in touch. Thanks for everything, good luck in your new endeavor. Your friend, Alex.
  13. May not look all that good but, I'm pretty sure it'll be able to destroy just about anything in the twistys. (in the same price range, except the Elise)
  14. Crap, i just reread your post, seems like you've already been in Canada and left. Oh well, maybe next year... By that time I'll at least have something to show you. Have a nice vacation...
  15. Where & when exactly in Canada will you be??? I live in the Montreal area, there's not much to see about my Z though as it's completely disassembled at the moment, waiting for new floors, firewall repair and RB25 final mock-up. We could at least go out and I'll have you taste Canada's finest beers. Are you driving the Z
  16. I road test the 335 almost every day at work and let me tell you this, NOTHING in the BMW line-up can catch the 335 COUPE from 1 red light to the other. It's faster off the line than M3, M5 and even the M6 until 3rd gear. There's absolutely NO lag from those 2 small snails. I can only imagine how this engine will do in a smaller car... I'll try to find more info, about weight and other specs, from work tomorrow. There's also an hatch back version that looks kind of weird but, it's slowly growing on me.
  17. Thanks for that, I just bought the 4 piece 20,21,22,25mm kit, the female torx wrench kit and the hollow ratchet kit + a set of metric socket that snaps in the ratchet wrench all for $139 tax & shipping included. WOW
  18. If this is an RB25, it's an first gen N/A one cause, there doesn't seem to be a bulge for the variable intake cam on the front of the timing cover nor does it seem to have a cam sensor on the said cover, which the RB would have. + the front of the valve cover seems too round to be an RB and it looks like the valve/timing cover is one piece like a chain driven engine, which the SR is but, the RB isn't. Last but not least, as was mention earlier, the engine seems to start at the shock towers. All of this lets me think that it's an SR and not an RB.
  19. The guy said that $500 is a lot for is college student budget. POR 15 is insanely expensive and to get the whole underside of even a small car like the Z, he's probably going to hit that mark. You say $500 is a lot for you... How much time and money have you spent to get the Z in the condition it is today??? How much would it cost you if you run it off the road or get hit by an overconfident SUV driving soccer mom??? Way more than 500 cause, lets face it, Zs are not renowned for there sturdiness in the even of a collision. Do yourself a favor and brake the budget, buy a beater or otherwise you might and probably will end up with NOTHING at all to drive around. I know the truth hurts but, you asked for advice and this is the best you'll get.
  20. IHow about Mini Cooper side markers??? I work a BMW so, if you need some, I could try to cannibalise some from one of the many smashed cars we have at the bodyshop. You could just cut the vent part or build something interesting using the vents. Orange is not far from red so, it could easily be dyed red.
  21. :icon2:That interior can be found in any S13 240SX, which means 89-94.
  22. Well, if you have time to make it north of the boarder, I can shelter you for a while... LOL.
  23. WOW! The body armor and electric car articles were very interesting. Thanks for that, I'll subscribe too.
  24. Here's an advice from a true rustmaster... I AM CANADIAN and I'm from the province of Quebec, we get the worst winters in North America and we also are the heaviest road salt spreaders. First and best advice is Pop N Wood`s! No matter how much you spend, THE CAR WILL RUST AGAIN! You better save and buy a $500 shitbox instead of investing those same $500 for something that will only SLOW DOWN the cancer. Epoxy primer IS THE BEST base you can put under the car AND everywhere else for the matter. If you use truck bed liner, try to use a spray on instead of roll on as it will give you a smoother finish. It's not a bad thing but as was stated above, you will have to be very meticulous about inspecting the bottom of your car as the thick stuff can hide many things. If you use rust proofing, you MUST use something that runs and drips. The thick crusty stuff is for NEW CARS ONLY which have never seen rust yet. As stated by jmortensen, krown IS THE BEST rust proofing. The sad thing is that rustproofing makes working on the car a bitch, as everything gets greasy and sticky. Wash the car as often as you can but, DO NOT GARAGE THE CAR. The reason for this is that the salt mixed with water is frozen and thus way less prone to get into all nooks and crannys. If you garage the car, this will melt with the heat and will just chew away at your car. Hope it helped.
  25. Are you talking about M-z3 or M-z4 coupe. I can`t say anything other than the Bimmer cause... I work there. But I just love the Z4 coupe, it's shape reminds me of the Z
