  1. VERY VERY NICE!!!! What engine you have in there???
  2. On your website, I noticed that you builted a semi-tubular sub-frame out of the original one, how come you're not talking about it here??? One other question, what brand is your friend's bender and does it work good??? Great job BTW, keep us posted...
  3. Hi, anyone on this site that has experience with first gen. Rx7s?????? I may have a deal on one but, wanted to know what critical points to look for on this particular model, aside from the engine, which I already know has been rebuilt, before I buy, to know if it's a DEAL or not... Thanks.
  4. :lmao:That would just be awesome for me!!!!!!!!! Stay home all day and work in the garage with all the cool tools my WIFE bought for me. HAHAHA!!! HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!
  5. I always wanted to do that when I had my sentra and wondered how much work it would be... Now i know, not the kind of swap that you do in the back yard... That thing is just awesome, I love it. THAT's a sleeper in my book.
  6. Wow, I sure would love to move in the U.S. of A.... Techs seem to be making good money on your side of the boarder... The guy said he's a Honda technician??? Did you see the house, the f$*king huge boat and all those toys in the driveway??? It's not with my little $20 an hour I could afford all of this for sure... On second thought, he must live at his parents.
  7. :lmao:They really thought people would fall for this?!?!?!?
  8. I can't see it, the page stays all blank, me computer illiterate, please help, what do i need to do to see it, I don't want to be the only one left out...
  9. Same here, I think it's just plain sad...
  10. How about an electro/hydraulic valve system that doesn't use cams at all. You can run the engine on any number of cylinders you want and have the "dead" cylinder's valves open at all times for a true multi displacement engine (unlike Chrysler's) Plus you can tailor timing for each specific cylinders and variable valve timing controlled only by electrons instead of complex devices like V-tech, VVTi or vanose... I know BMW is coming with something like that but, i think that the main problem is that they are waiting for the 48V. systems to come out for it to work properly...
  11. The only thing I would consider cutting off with a sawzall would be the roof. You cut a the very bottom of each A, B & C pillars and keep the whole thing. For the rest, I think there is no better advice than what greenmonster proposed...
  12. I'd wish to do an M6 style carbon fiber roof skin... Anyone in the know thinks it's doable?????
  13. I think most everything off of the S13 is a near bolt on endeavor, we have a local drifter here in Montreal who was selling his very nice, street S12 and he stated that only the shell was S12, he had an SR20 and all susp., direc. and brakes were from the S13...
  14. Question about those wheel dollys, are the little casters sturdy enough to roll a car outside on, less than perfect but not too bad asphalt??? It would be nice for pushing disabled car in and out of our shop while we wait for parts, I'm just tired of pushing cars with a floor jack that sinks in the asphalt and breaking my back. Thanks.
  15. LOL!!!!!!! Now that you mentioned it, I DO see a resemblance... No offence nscason, it's still a cool looking or soon to be cool looking project you have there.
  16. It's an 85, it doesn't have an IRS, it's a solid axle. The IRS only started on the FC in 86...
  17. It looks like that thing has been sitting there, never been finished, for ever...
  18. He is talking about an 750 "il" here, there is NO way the 5 series will have near the same amount of room as the 7. As a BMW dealership mechanic, I would advise against such a purchase, at 130K miles, the engine is reaching (if not already passed) the end of it's good service life (poorly serviced cars are WAY lower than that...) before a rebuilt. Just think about having to buy 12 BMW pistons, 12 rods, 16 valves and so forth, plus the time consuming task (if you do it yourself) or the money involved (if you have it done) to remove this complex piece of an engine from the car, open it, measure all those parts, reassemble, put back in... It's not worth it, sure you can get a 12 cyl. for $500 at the junkyard but, odds are that it will be in worst condition than yours... Like I say to everyone who asks, people come in to see us all the time with a big grin on there face, all happy about there new toy they just bought from a private garage, looking to get it inspected to know what it NEEDS and (no joke here) many of them start crying when we tell them they have about 10 to 12 grands (which is about what they paid for the car) to put in the car, to bring it back to it's original glory. They are very comfy, always broken cars with a lot of bells & whistles that can go wrong and are pretty expensive to fix.
  19. I'm sorry if this is going to sound rude but... what does the kind of suspension you're going to use has to do with the engine swap???? Read a little bit, suspension setup is related to what you want to do with the car, not what engine you put in... I mean, start by putting the engine in and make sure it runs properly and ONLY THEN you should start worrying about your suspension components or go the other way around and setup your suspension right, learn how the car behaves and then swap the engine for more power, you just can't dive in the unknown and start changing everything, it's going to end up all wrong... My $0.02
  20. Is it worth anything handling wise or is it just a collectible???
  21. Any of you guys heard if you're going to get the turbo diesel version in the U.S.??? Here in Canada it's still a big MAYBE...
  22. Wow, you just beat me to it, I had just found the same thing and was coming back to post it but... Thank you very much...
