  1. Thanks Jon for the pic, that helps me picture in my head the whole notch process. I would think that my machinist has been down this road before but he is not familiar with these older Nissan engines. Since this isn't a stock rebuild i am trying to cover all the basis with him so we do it right the first time. Thank God there is some great sites and help from you guys. I thought (my memory sucks)that when I checked the original valve sizes that my head had the larger ex valves but smaller in. valves(165). The head was off of a late model 71.So I guess what i am babbling for is I thought the interference would be the intake side
  2. Anybody have a pic of the notching.
  3. I have unshrouded the chambers, thanks. I brought this up to my machinist to look at and I appreciate all the advice. Sounds like the definitive answer is to plop the head on there and make sure nothing hits and then see the advantages of possibly notching. I think I must of read about this in my "How to Modify" your datsun book which the machinist has right now .
  4. I've been searching but can't seem to find a definitive answer.I am beefing up my 240 motor and am wondering about notching my block. I have put the 280 valves in my e-88 head with a stage 2 cam and my pistons are .40 over. Do I still need to allow for relief in the cylinders. I thought I read that if you go atleast 10 over on pistons your okay but I can't find similiar info. Anyone steer me in the right direction. thanks steve
  5. I wish the railroad would give me as much time as it seems you have to mess around with the Z. Its sounds like it gonna a be a killer.
  6. Thanks olie05, I know 200 is very optimistic and I do intend on raising CR to the premium pump gas limit. IF later down the road i put together a stroker with my worked e-88 I wonder what the hp would be for the increased displacement?MAN- i wish I kept that turbo
  7. Okay guys, I know this is small time for you guys but I was wondering if my 2.4 is capable of 200rwhp. I know I should of done a 2.8 and I won't even admit that I sold a 2.8trbo that i had (oops), but I had already thrown money at the original motor before I found the turbo car. I am doing a total rebuild with .40 over pistons and balancing the complete assembly. I am oversizing to l28 valves on the e-88 head with mild porting and port matching. A stage 2 cam, stainless valves, header, electronic ign, dual exhaust, SU's. I know if I was wanting bigger ## I should have gone a different direction but I think 200hp would make me very happy with this car. Maybe the next project I will have the knowledge from all you guys to go for big horsepower.

    deleted ads

so I guess all of this is telling me that the only thing I did wrong was not put a price. I will try again for the third time to put my ad in. I also am not upset as I am confused. thanks for the response administrator steve
  9. I have now had 2 ads deleted for not following the rules of placing an ad. I guess I am missing something. I have read the rule but can't figure out what I am doing wrong. The only thing I see is the selling price issue. But when you fill out the ad submission form it tells you to put a 0 if you don't have a set price. Plus I have several items that don't go together. the rules also say something about paying for the ad but how is that done. I have donated to the club and I have been a member for several months atleast. I really enjoy this site and it is a very useful tool to my restoration of my z, so I am feeling fustrated at this point, can someone help me? steve
  10. Okay, I give up. I am wanting to place an ad in the classifieds section but I do not see how I do this. There is no place to click that says 'place ad here' or for me "click here stupid". I can access all the ads just can't place one. Please help thanks steve
