  1. Sorry to be so dense but I just posted in "my projects" and it seem to come up as more of a link to my galleries. I copied the pic from my galleries and pasted. Getting closer though.
  2. Hopefully I have figured out how to post pics correctly. This is what I am working on right now . Check out my super light weight exhaust, guaranteed never to rust.
  3. Well I know it can be done, but that doesn't show me how!!! Good looking ride though LOL.
  4. I am wondering if I am not doing something right as far as posting pics in a thread. I am able to upload pics in members galleries but if I try to attach a pic while posting it says the file is too big. So is there two different parameters for galleries and posts?? Is there a way to post pics from the gallery. When I post pics from my computer at CZCC I have no problems. Thanks Steve

  14. I am trying to fabricate a dual exhaust system on my 240. My knowledge of exhaust assembly is limited and i want to order piping to put together my system. In what circumstances would a person use a flex pipe like this. Is it meant to allow for twisting of the engine.Does anyone know where to find a X crossover pipe in 2". I have found 2.25"(inlet) but don't know if I can make that work with 2" pipe(O.D.)
  15. I just finished installing a BW 5-speed in my 71. I thought I would post this short cut to my thread from CZCC so it would be available for search results. It may have some useful info for folks as far as modifying the crossmember with lots of pics. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25178
  16. I am using a r200 moustache bar. The FAQ says to flip around the front mount. I can't remember what the original positon was. I know that when I flip it one way the mount is off by a couple of inches, the other way it is off by a bolt hole. There is only one r200 moustache bar isn't there?
  17. I am installing a r200 in my 71 . In order for the diff to line up with front diff mount I have to pry the diff back about an 1/2". Is this correct? When I do the search I can not seem to come up with a definitive answer. In Carl Becks r200 swap page he talks about two different mounts, but MSA shows one part# for all Z's thru 78. I have made a Ron Tyler mount based on the stock mounting point of the original mount since I am still running the L6. So was I correct in ASSUMING(I hate that word) that this small change in the postion of the diff will not effect anything?
  18. I am mating a bwt-5 trans to a P-30 engine and I am using the Turbo flywheel that came with the trans. I noticed the torque values for the flywheels are different for different year cars. Are the torque values mated with the crank or the flywheel. The p-30 has 101 ftlbs values while the ZXT shows 80lbs,which one do I use??
  19. I get to drive the one of the biggest, most powerful machines on the earth. I usually have the throttle of 10,000 to 15,000HP and 250,000lbs of torque traveling 60mph. The best part is i get to blow the horn:biggrin: Class1 locomotive engineer
  20. Beautiful engine bays guys, but how do you go about hiding the wire harnesses. I would like some ideas and direction for doing this to my car? Also the brake lines, where are you running them?
  21. I guess I was going off of memory instead of a tape measure. I'll look at it again.
  22. I guess I will build the mount on the car with the stock mount installed and tack it together. This way I am assured to keep it in the stock position. I am guessing that adjustment is done by spacing the polymount with washers?? I didn't quite figure this out by the posts.
  23. 3.54 might be your best bet and there are alot of them around. Like I said I think the "long time getting thru gears" is the nature of the beast with a bwt5 trans because it was set up for a turbo motor. If you go to turbo or stroker that has more low end then the 2.4 the car will excelerate much better .Don't forget to check the driveshaft yoke set -up before swapping diffs. The driveshaft is special for the bwt5 so parts are swapped somewhere!!
  24. I guess I don't understand your answer WIGEN-OUT. It seems the pics I've seen with this mount installed show the front of the diff significantly lower or maybe they were adjusted lower with the mount? Are you telling me that the original mount is left in place and this mount sandwichs the diff?
