  1. Congrats on your marriage:icon45: Tools and parts disappearing around you, (even if you have not moved an inch), is very common. It is just Murphy having fun at your expense;)
  2. For some reason my rear tire breaks loose around corners. I will also try to maintain speed limit around corners I tend to also to have some kind of tire screech up my driveway, I don't know what causes this, but my tires seem to have excessive ware.
  3. Ok now I'm confused again, please post a pic of this fan.
  4. studded tires for ~6 months in a row cause it, not heavy vehicles This debate has been going on up here for a looong time. I will say this, I talked to a road engineer that was out doing road density tests on a new road. He said that the ruts and increased road ware was from the increased big rig traffic of an unexpected amount of 35%. I'm not saying that it is the final word on the problem. Also, out in the evening, out of the city, you can see duel tracks, just that the inside tracks are deeper. Last thing, they keep tiring to tell us that non studs are just as good, so the public does not need them, however, the cops always run them, guess they have not gotten the memo;)
  5. I may need to call the suicide hot line, but I'm afraid. I should have noticed the area code.
  6. Witch, which, no problem I thought it was wrong, been having some problems, more then normal with common words, working on it;) Just the way you describe the problem I was scratching my head a bit. Have you considered going electric? Do you have operational a/c?
  7. encased in a black rubber protective sleeve I have no reason to not believe Braap, I will say this, all mine will become oil soaked and slide off, even so I've never had a failure, knock on wood.
  8. Yes a narrower tire of the same tread will improve traction More then you might think. Without adequate downward force, the design would start to fail. I might add this will be specific to applied car due to lift at higher speeds, or more downward pressure at higher speeds. There would be a lot of math in order to calculate effects on just one car with tons of variables, i.e., headwinds, tailwinds, amount of water to be moved, areo of car, dynamics of chosen tire, up hill, flat, down hill ect....ect... Overall one might stat that a narrower tire will give better results, to a point. I dought a bike tire will give good results, however, swamp racers have very narrow tires.. Those things are sooo cool!
  9. Somewhere there is thread about lightened fly wheels and potential dyno differences. It talks about how much differences might be tallied base on less weight at greater circumferences, it is really a good read burninator. As far as I know, no one ever tested a "spin out" on the flywheel.
  10. When somthing goes pretty much perfect, no blood even spilled, I tend to worry alot as well;)
  11. Regardless, only 30 PSI on all cylinders means something is VERY wrong! Cam timing is VERY off, (was the head removed and reinstalled?) Braap Check timing marks, also is the cam stock?
  12. You seem to have quite a few fire bugs around you sir;) On subs we had small heavy metal cans for rags and such, with a lid that is always shut unless opened.
  13. My slob (saab) has similar set up. Mine will kinda suction itself onto splines due to the grease and O ring. Not sure if that will help, but there you go;)
  14. Pumping the hoses work pretty good. If you see the needle move down wards, that is probably the thermostat working.
  15. Teehee, honda rods in a datsun... I have no problem with it, kinda funny. This has been a outstanding thread, that guys for the information!
  16. Problem with throwouts going bad is they can explode, causing damage all over. It just may get worse untill you know there is a problem.
  17. Unless....... Most rules can not be refuted however, most rules can not be proven, this does not mean there true,,,,just not wrong..teehee.
  18. My 83 ZX works quite well with r134 after conversion this summer. Mention this due to condenser, which is stock. Yes, r12 would have been better, however, it was for my wife and it is satisfactory.
  19. I'll try to post some of the projects I'm working on that is related to body work. If you asked me a question about body work no matter how stupid it is. I would give you an answer. not everyone have the ability even after searching the thread to figure out everything or have the equipments to measure as 1 fast z mentions. Allllrighty then.. Look you are missing the precepts of HybridZ. It is dedicated to extreme building of Z cars! Of course there is relaxation of some of this main rule, if there was not, well it would be tough to grow. If you would want to give out any advice on body work, you can. Believe it or not, if you spoon fed to much you would get into trouble, why?, you ask? You would be doing a disservice to newer fellows that join the forum. How, you ask? Simple, "easy" is a motivational killer, it decreases ingenuity, reduces analytical skills and re-enforces laziness. Overall it lends it's self to enforcing stupidity. (stupidity: having ablities and refusing to use them. (kinda like my joke at the end of this post)) Since the site makes no bones about who and what they are, your argument is predicated around what you might want, not what is. At this point you are on thin ice, just calm down, think it over and come out the other side a little wiser. This site is full of those that have achieve a higher level of peace/ dicipline........the ones that have not, there names are in red,,,,,be careful of them.....teehee. Tid bit of levity to enlighten and uplift.
  20. Got it:) There is some irony to this....teehee...
  21. I'm going to throw caution to the wind and say you may need more than rings.....
  22. Mostly stock l28 is going to run out of "breath" at 5500. With what I've done, (lighten fly, electric fan, little richer, more open exaught (man I hate spelling that word)) mine poops out around 5700/5800, depends on the day;). I've never had a problem with valve float on stocker springs, even old ones, up to 6500/6800 rpm. In my older ZX with a cam, I ran it up there all the time. I do mean all the time! One time on my older ZX I missed a fast shift to 4th, I saw the tach pin! For that split second the engine shook kinda violently, and you know what ran through my mind. Pampered it for a few miles, counted my blessing and continued to flog it until retired. On a side note, with a balanced/ lighten fly and pressure plate I can be a 4000 grand plus and not realize it until I look at the tack. It is so smooth it feels like a honda 4 banger, however, if you tell others I will deny I ever said that.....
