  1. Good deal . Odometer reading will be different , accumulates more miles than actual .
  2. Oh , I forgot , I didn't use OE sensor . I just used signal wire to the speedo and GM sensor . Nissan sensor is a photo sensor , you can make your own reluctor wheel out of whatever .
  3. Good job . Looking forward to your progress . I'm kinda doing the same . Running LS1 w 6 spd. trans. . I bought Dakota Digital converter but i just can't slow down the pulse enough to get a correct reading . I'm getting about 40 to 50 % off . I'll try it your way to see if i can get it to work .
  4. Check your clutch hyd. system , either master or slave cylinder is bad . If one is bad , rec. you replace both . Good luck .
  5. Finally , got my 78 Z back on the road after ten weekends of LS1 conversion . She's now joining her sister , the 83 ZXT with LS1 and 6 spd. , which will get a 6.0 turbo as soon as i can find a good used block .

  7. So , PCV valve sucks from pass. side . Which side does fresh air go into ?
  8. I was thinking about doing the same . But by pluging the rear hole on the valve cover on the pass. side . And have the PCV valve sucks from the driver side only . But i found a Y vac. T from a Ford ( from a repaired job ) that has correct size fittings . Lucky me . LOL . As Sunny Z stated , I'd plug that hole .
  9. I had the same problem with PCV hose . When the motor was in the Z28 , i had intermittent high and surge idle . Saw a cut at the Y boot when i pulled the motor . Repaired it with a Y vac. T ( new assembly costs $100 plus ) .
  10. I just got my project running two weeks ago . I bought my radiator from an ebay store , Champion 3 row . It looks different than yours . I'm using single fan with dual speed and i mounted it in OE Z shround .
  11. Just got my project running two weeks ago and still much detail work left to do . I mounted my PCM where bat. used to be , relocated bat. to where spare used to be .
  12. My project LS1 Z almost done . I resused the wrecked 02 Z28 shifter . My Z was a standard car . Going to reuse shifter boot , like others have done , to give it a standard look .
  13. Well , mine seems to be ok without PNS hooked up . Check to see if your pcv hose has a crack . Mine cracked at the Y boot , caught it before i installed the motor . It did surge and high idle when the motor was in the Z28 , at times .
  14. Actually , i'm doing LS1 w/ auto . Almost finished . I'll let you know if the PNS will make difference . Will the motor surge in park or neutral ?
  15. Not sure if this is related . Did you hook up park/neutral safety switch ? This signal tells ECM what gear position you are in .

  18. Well , i'm installing an LS1 with auto . Motor and trans. is already in the car . I'm keeping the pedal assembly , too much trouble to remove it . Looks like you will be needing a lot more . Too bad you are not close enough . I wouldn't mind helping each other out . I have a shifter from my 87 ZX , but would rather have the OE Z shifter .

  20. Trying to find the ohm spec. for water temp. sender ( thermal transmitter ) for my 78 Z and 83 ZXT ( dig. dash ) . Can somebody help me with this ? Thanks .

  22. Let's see . I dropped the LS1 out of my 02 Z28 , bought it from an auction , on 11/17/12 . Pulled the Z motor and trans. out on the 22nd . Dropped the LS1 in on the 23rd . Reworked the fact. harness and installed it back on the motor , mounted the ECM , installed Vette fuel filter , mod. both dipstick tubes on the 12/2/12 . Now , i'm waiting on headers .
