Aluminum Radiator with electric fan shroud
Domzs replied to Mace.un's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
I have my fan turns on low at 15'F, hi at 20'F and off at 5'F above the thermostat temp. . I'm running 180'F T-stat . Don't like the idea that you have to activate your fans with a switch , it's a good idea if you are using it as a back up or by pass . I've seen a few cars in the our shop where the customers rigged up the fans and forgot to turn them on . Don't see a reason to have your fans come below T-stat temp. . Fan motors would last long with low temp. setup . I even use A/C press. activate switch for my fans , in my 91 ZX ( converted to electric ) , so they don't even come on at hiway speed .- 19 replies

Depends on what engine combo you are running , the on board ECM controls fan function .- 19 replies

Check with Speedway Motors . They have adapters for temp and oil press for LS motors . Think they are cheaper and fast shipping to boot .

I don't think it's a good idea to have the O2s after the cutouts . If the cutouts are opened , the ECM won't have any feedback from the O2 sensors . That's just my opinion .

I'm using the Z check valve . It has good braking just the way it was before . Since it now has an auto trans , seems like more effort on the pedal to keep it from creeping at the stop . I don't know if auto Zs came with 10 in boosters and standard with 8 in . With 10 in booster , pedal effort would be less , my thinking .

Brake sys is good . Worked fine with standard trans , no load like auto trans . Bought the car a year ago and it was sitting in the gargage for 5 + yrs . I already replaced wheel cylinders , master cylinder , and flush the whole sys when i got it . It takes more effort to hold the car still . Just wondered if anyone upgraded to 10 booster and saw a big different . This car definitely needs big brakes upgrade .

I have a question about brake booster . My car is a 78 which came with standard trans . Now has 02 LS1 with auto trans . Noticed the brakes kinda weak to hold the car at idle , really have to press hard on pedal to keep it from creeping and it idles only at 600 rpm . Brake sys. is stock with 8 in booster . Thinking about installing a 10 in booster . Question is has anyone done this and how much improvement will it give ? Thanks .

Battery shorted on fender. What are the consequences?
Domzs replied to KROz's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
Well , if all fuses are good . I'd would check all ground wires/cables to sure they are not melted . -
Might have to pull the trans. out to see what's binding . What year turbo motor ? My 83 came with T5 trans , different flywheel ?

Just got my done . Using 2 V-bands . I tacked the whole system all at the same time , a lot of tacks . Then dropped the system for complete welding . Moved around a lot to prevent warpage . -
