  1. You know it's funny how a place can seem so beautiful and fun when you visit, but for those of us that live here, it's not all that great...BTW, here's my roof rack... It's a universal mount, locking Thule roof rack with a set of RV-Innov locking surfboard racks on top. Works awesome and it's not going anywhere.
  2. Nah, swaps can and quite often are reliable. I know a guy that's been running a 400 sbc in a 240Z for years now as his daily driver. Awesome car.
  3. Hehehe...I'm not a swap expert so I don't have anything for you other than...HELL YES!!!! All the reason in the world to do the swap is in this forum. Now for sad part. Most of your mounts are probably gonna be custom pieces, but by no means let that stop you. We've all had to one off something just to get the Z back on the road. It's what makes this site what it is.
  4. There aren't too many posts by BRAAP that don't deserve a sticky...lol
  5. Well, if you searched on the forums then you already know that the E88 cam should be a 260Z cam which should be stamped "C" on one end. Given this knowledge you should also know from searching that the "C" cam is the best of the stock grind cams for street performance. As for the accuracy of your port measurements, I have no idea. A good street "bore" I suppose differs greatly from person to person as everyone seems to have an opinion. And where did you get a 64mm throttle body? I know of the 60mm KA and the 90mm BMW/Mustang throttle bodies, but I've never heard of a 64mm.
  6. Oh so true. And never assume you have a clean ground just because you don't hear it in the speakers either....
  7. What about IAC? Need something to control your idle.
  8. Search the forum for brass shifter bushing
  9. I'd give it 2mm just to be safe, but really they're both static to each other so in a perfect world you could have a ♥♥♥♥ hair worth of clearance and it'd be fine.
  10. Hahahaha.... I'm always afraid my DD will break...But I guarantee it's no where near full potential.
  11. My 77 had an E88 on it when I bought it. Damn that was a nice pulling engine. It's soon to pull even better though. Yes the E88 would be good on the N42 block so long as you take the proper precautions for the EFI. I would also see about having the valve seats replaced with steal and the valve stem seals replaced. Then it would be great...
  12. Control the temptations to turn up the boost....At least for now anyway. As far as your traction problems...I suggest some wider tires and rims and a coilover ground control kit. After that a few runs around the backroads for therapeutic reasons.
  13. Curious, is the TPS a must have for megasquirt to run properly? I would have though if it was making proper corrections based on the MAP readings and the O2 readings then the TPS shouldn't be a big deal. Unless it has to have that signal for immediate accel enrichment...
  14. Well, if you had to have the glass cut to fit your window it would be more expensive. Ready made replacements are much cheaper then cut to fit.
  15. Thoughts, yeah, good choice on the swap ideas. Twin turbo and a 5 speed sounds like fun. Look around for an earlier model Z if you really want to have some fun though. Something 70-83.
  16. Yeah, my wife thinks I've gone insane when I come up with something new for the car. They just don't understand.
  17. I say make her pay for the repair work needed to bring it back to what it was. Or make her pay for it to be better than what it was.
  18. Lucky bastard... My buddy got one with a straight body for $200. The interior and all was toast, but the body was decent. Doesn't run though. Looking at the plethora of parts and the plugs in it I'd say it was running super rich, but I haven't taken the time to get it going yet and see how it's going to run for us. It's been sitting for the last 6 years at least, so I know there's much to be done.
  19. It's just like yelling at people on the road for driving stupid. Doesn't do anything productive, but it does make us feel better....lol
  20. Oh damn....I bet pissed isn't the word for it....Ouch...
  21. Hmmm, or better yet, how about getting a stub axel puller?
  22. Nice work. Car looks and runs sweet.
  23. Not sure if anyone has seen this yet, but it's a nice alternative to the DIYAutoTune IAC box. Looks pretty straight forward and clean. http://www.clewett.com/news/IACpress.pdf
