    Seat swap list

the cloth 350z seats. I'm 5'7 and had to add 3 of the spacer washers to raise the seat high enough (about an inch), and I still have plenty of headroom with my helmet on.

e definitely won't see everything. Even after 12 hours there last year, I still saw other peoples pictures and didn't recognize half of the stuff!!!!
  6. my powdercoating business. I think sometimes I work more at it than my full time job as an airline pilot.

Awesome to hear, I really can't wait!!!!! Thankfully, we fly free with my other job and are able to just cruise around the country/world at will (space permitting).
  8. Can't recall the temp for hi-temp powder, but I do know its not high enough. We just had this discussion on a powdercoating forum.
  9. I do good, but the more I make, the less I seem to have! Its funny though, with all the students and fresh grads who can't wait to spend it on their cars, when I graduated college and went into the military, my plan was to stay single, live in the Barracks and buy a new Z31, pay it off, then trade it on a MID-4, if it ever came out, then get a ferrari. Its funny how life has other plans!

Bill, You need to be in the industry. My wife and I are flying to Boston to see VanHalen on Oct 30/31st then flying straight to Vegas on the 1st and going to the show on the last day, the 2nd.
  11. ouch!!!! I hope it was a tow truck operator and not the owner!
  12. bubbleguineau helped me a couple weeks ago and then I just had Eddie Radatz do the final touches and finally got it back on the road. Went from Eddie's shop to Forged Performance in Marietta, GA (350z shop) and had teh new engine broken in on their dyno dynamics load based dyno (we call it the 'heartbreaker', as it consistently puts down 10-12% less than dynojet dynos). Changes: L28 - swapped dished turbo pistons to domed nissan motorsports pistons MSA stage 2 cam Fidanza Flywheel 5speed 83 trans. centerforce clutch xr-700 I think thats about all. 136hp on the heartbreaker, which should be about 150-160 on a dyno jet. Next I need a 3.90 rear end, as it feels kind of slow still, but my daily driver is a C6 corvette, so I think its just in my head. Here it is with the hood and front bumper finally back on after a whole year off and with a fresh wash! Taking it to little Talladega road course on thursday, can't wait!
  13. like Patzky said (fellow naval aviator here myself, although now I fly for Delta), talk to the guy. If you can't work it out, ask for a new instructor.
  14. hampton inn, southern pines is nice and where I always stay.
  15. Isn't that the truth!!! (Of course, I upgraded the brakes on my C6 to Z06 brakes, but I admit, it was just for looks, and because it was only $1200)
  16. of course, even the base 350z brakes from the 03 do a fine job of stopping the car, so maybe they don't look special, but I think they would do a great job on a 2200 lb car.
  17. Phil, if you ever make it out to atlanta, or I make it out your way, I'd love to run you in my soon to be blown C6!!!!!! the blower is in my garage, just not yet installed. seriously though, good job!
  18. sure wish that was closer to me! I would love that screw compressor, they are supposed to be virtually silent!
  19. single piston front, single piston rear, nothing special, other than the brembos. same as on other nissans. don't know of anyone who has swapped them.
  20. anything from harbor freight is one time use only.
  21. only that its a bit too small for a larger person like myself. If I sucked my gut in, I could fasten it, but I replaced my belts with aftermarket instead.
  22. my firsthand experience. I had a 350z with a stillen (magnuson M62) stage 3 supercharger I also installed 2 Vortech superchargers on friends cars, a 350z and a G35. I really, really liked the performance of the stillen, although the total output and performance potential was a lot lower than the others. I got about 340 rwhp while they got around 420, but I had 90% of my max torque and hp at 1800 rpms. It was perfect for track days. So, I would say that for a daily driver, track day type car, I would go with the maggie again. For drag racing or just bragging rights, the centrifugal or turbos. The maggies just aren't real upgradeable. All of this being said, I just bought a Vortech kit for my C6, but thats because 1. it was on sale in a group buy for an unbelievable price, and 2. my 240z is my track car, or will be as soon as its running properly again.
  23. the good thing is, its running at least Taking it to Eddie tomorrow to let him sort it all out and tune it properly for me, plus check over if everything is ok with that blowby issue, etc. Hopefully, its normal, but I worry too much, so I'd rather find it out now. Worse comes to worse he has in IT prepped 2.4 liter I've been thinking of buying for some time now.
