  1. SWEET INTAKE!! I'm glad to hear that the injector issue was resolved swiftly.
  2. yep, that'll work, but I wonder, when you are making 400rwhp at 20+ psi of boost, would the injector furthest from the FPR starve a little for fuel. i understand the pressure should be constant across the rail, but I still wonder...hmmm... I have seen many carbed L28's run that way, but the fuel demands/pressure aren't as high as with a turbo car
  3. Pic of the manifold please!! I am waiting for mine as well It sounds like you may have the wrong size injectors for the rail. The o-rings should be a tight fit. My Pallnet rail is a very tight fit for the 550 inj's that I currently run.
  4. I run my wastegate open as well. It makes no difference in sound until you are building enough boost to open it and then it just sounds NASTY (in a good way). If someone offered to route it back into the exhaust for me for free and give me $50, I would say no. I like the sound of the open wastegate. It is all business. BTW, I ran the 2JZ wastegate open as well, even if i haven't been able to use it yet (another gremlin story).
  5. A little more info please. Have you verified cam timing? What year efi or standalone? Do you have a timing light to verify?
  6. I'll agree with you Garrett. I would have to see some concrete evidence.
  7. Very cool Chris. Any internal mods? What fuel were you running? I really need to put my car back on the dyno too... maybe next week...
  8. Nice run. I am sure he was surprised
  9. I should be available some time in there. I do not know my schedule until the night before however ... (Delta connection Academy flight school). I'll send PM w/ my #'s Mike
  10. Here's a set of turbo pistons and rods. The auction ends later today, so you gotia hurry. Just put these in your block and viola "turbo bottom end". http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8005665539&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
  11. There should be 2 brass washers. One is under the bolt, the other is between the bolt-on-flange and the oil line.
  12. upgraded turbo, bigger injectors, intercooler, good engine management, a fat wallet and a little patience
  13. I'd call Les first. http://www.classicdatsun.com He just got some in stock last week, so he should be able to ship right away. If he is sold out already, then call MSA and make sure you ask them if they have them in stock. They'll go check on them for you and tell you if they do.
  14. Condolences and prayers from me and my family...

    VLSD info

I too am running the 88 VLSD. Joel also has run it as well. We both had the same axle setup as James T did though. The problem is that the outer CV tripod is SUPER HARD to locate. The better way to run the 88 VLSD is to use the 88 VLSD shafts (specific to the diff), turn around the outer bearing housing (shortening the shaft), and then using Ross' adaptors. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=46 I will be changing over from the AMC/280zx setup to the latter at some point as I have all the parts to do so...
  16. See if you know anyone that has a wideband they can put on it. That'll help inform you if your are running too rich/lean...
  17. I have seen racers pull the alternator belt on old muscle cars to eliminate one drive belt at the drag strip and such. You could run an electric pump and then eliminate any belt driven accessories. There is one made for the L-motor now, thanks to Jeff P
  18. Wow Jamie, Mike, you can't pass up that offer!! I ordered a manifold from http://www.lonewolfperformance.com back in August. I did have some special requests like 1.65" inner diameter runners to match the intake ports on the head I am going to use I also sent the fuel rail, 720cc injectors, and a template of the head so that the runners can match up to the intake ports. I am looking forward to the finished product. James (spork here on HybridZ) has given me updates whenever I request them and quick replies to my emails. The 1.65" ID tubing had to be special ordered which slightly increased the cost, but they were able to do it. It should be ready any day now.
  19. Very sweet ride... And welcome!! What power/times are you intending to run? I look forward to following your progress, so don't disappear on us
