  1. Have all the east coasters received their issues? I am still waiting by the mailbox for mine
  2. Unfortunately there is no room in my stable, but I do look forward to seeing you Ivan!! Welcome to Florida!! Mike

  4. C'mon, 30 minutes tops to take the intake off and get all the fuel lines and wiring out of the way. Then removing the turbo is a piece of cake... What size housing are you going to/from?

2JZ'er here, but we would happily welcome an RB'er to CFL!!
  6. Another Ebay story... I won a couple of rust free complete doors from a seller in Rochester 12/10/05. The seller, for various reasons, was unable to give me a total including shipping for some time. I just received a response tonight with a quote for $500 to ship the 2 doors via the UPS store. I figure that that must be the most expensive method you could possibly think of to ship the doors... Anyway, I was hoping someone in the Rochester area could assist me by picking them up from the seller and dropping them off at a local freight company or perhaps Greyhound bus station to ship. I would be willing to compensate someone for their time in order to save a little change. Thanks al, Mike Gadwaw Orlando, Fl
  7. Owen's sig is pretty cool as well... "If you didn't build it, it's not yours..."
  8. I still like the old slogan "When stock just doesn't cut it"
  9. I had an 85 928 for about 6 months. I enjoyed driving the car as it was a real pleasure to drive. What I didn't enjoy was the constant battle with electricals and the price for parts. I traded my daily driver 73 240z for it 2 years ago with a friend of mine. The car had sat for a few years, but all and all, it was a nice car (light blue exterior and dark blue interior) I had to put in a new battery, fuel pump ($250 was the cheapest I could find), injector hose kit from Porsche, along with other various. I had to bypass the automatic anti-theft system (the car would shut the fuel pump off when parked and would not restart). Wait until you see the fuse board under the passenger's side floor board!! There must be 60+ metal/plastic fuses which corrode easily and are a major cause of the electrical gremlins. Finally I needed to do a water pump/timing belt job on the car and parts alone were $400+!! I had already spent too much time and money in upkeep and I punted. I put the car up on Ebay and sold it for a fraction of what I had in it. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the car when I had it running, but the cons outweighed the pros in my case. Would I own another one? Yes, but would not try to rely on it as my primary transportation. Will I own another one? Probably someday ... On a side note, the guy with whom I traded my 73 to, still had the car until 2 weeks ago ... when I bought it back!!
  10. car sounds AWESOME JT!! I agree, the clip was far too short
  11. I liked the comfort of them when they were in my 280zt, but did not like the weight (heavy bastards!!)
  12. I have never seen them before, but I ran across them on Ebay.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8025351528&fromMakeTrack=true I had considered adapting some from another application a while ago, but never got around to it.
  13. You can't go wrong with any of the forged piston manufacturers (JE, ROSS, Venolia, Arias, etc). You just tell them what you have, what you want and they'll make them up $pecial for you;) As far as rods, I have yet to hear of anyone destroying the stockers with a properly tuned motor, so they are good for 400+ rwhp I would say. In most cases, you'll want to have them prepped (magnafluxed to check for cracks, resized crank ends, and then the rod ends drilled and bushed for the floating pins that will come with your forged pistons). An exotic rod (like a carillo, etc) is probably unnecessary unless you are shooting for the stars in horsepower.
  14. I haven't received mine yet either. Being an east coaster sucks!!
  15. I have posted this link before, but it has been a while... 400hp street honda? http://www.sdsefi.com/tech400.htm
  16. I believe the L20 rods are 135mm and utilize the same bearings as the L28, so those meay be a viable option. (Someone correct me if I am wrong). I like the idea of a longer rod as opposed to decking the block. That is just my opinion though... Mike
  17. Turbo blankets, heat shields and header wrap will do wonders for the under hood temps. Would it be possible to add a couple of ducts to the hood above the filter inlets to draw cooler air, then you may not have to run a cowl hood.. just a thought, but anyway, IT LOOKS AWESOME!!
  18. I have found the the line of sight is somewhat limited out of them, and the sight picture is much smaller, but the pro for them is that they eliminate a couple of the "blind spots" the driver has.
  19. I got in a group buy a few years ago when a fellow HybridZ member made a trip to Japan. He came back with 10 new sets of chrome fender mirriors. They were ~ $185+shipping from Cali.
  20. I bid $250, but did not meet the reserve. I will bid no higher, as that is what they are worth to me. Besides I already have a 3.36 R200 LSD. I just thought I'd pick up an extra set, but he wants more than I am willing to spend for a spare. It's all yours guys!!
  21. Yup, a little too high for me as well. Nice rims and G-Luck w/ the sale Thanks Andy, not selling either set yet, but I'll let you know. Mike
