  1. I would think to lighten the Z at the front and/or rear.Weight and strength on a Z in the center is never a bad thing...
  2. Good thing noone got hurt is right.Possibly a suggestion, but I took my steering column apart, wasn't particularly sticking on me or anything, but the steering shaft inside the column appeared to be lubricated from the factory, mine was obviously old and dirty,so I cleaned everything and relubricated, and it seems 10x smoother to me.Might want to check that out...
  3. Are the spot welded metal tabs (two on each side,) on the floor a couple inches in front of the front seat mount to hold floor mats in place? 71' 240Z BTW...
  4. If that textured undercoating is anything like Herculiner in terms of texture, good luck keeping it clean.I'm thinking of reblasting my engine bay and starting over since the roughness rips apart sponges, and attracts dirt, dust, and grease like a magnet....
  5. Anyone have photos of the above mentioned post or something similar to this front suspension setup?Sectioned 1.5",10" springs,BZ3099 Illuminas, etc.Possibly a photo of the upper isolator, spring seat, etc?
  6. Now you have to change your 3 sig photos at the bottom!Looks sweet:2thumbs:
  7. I have a '92 Charvel Fusion Deluxe, and I'll never get rid of it.24 frets on a maple neck,Jackson pickups,Floyd Rose locking trem. It's sweet if you've got small fingers since the neck is rather slim.the body is a little beat, but the neck is straight as an arrow, and the action is incredibly low with no buzz, making it extremely easy to play.I'd recommend a Charvel, but are getting rare.I've been eyeballing a Gibson Studio at my local shop though...Whatever brand you get however, make sure the neck is straight and true, and have the shop 'set it up' for you(raising/lowering the action,checking/adjusting intonation, that type of thing.
  8. I just recieved my coilover set from MM,(10" 225lb.front,10"250lb.rear)and I'm running Illuminas from the MR2. I've searched, and there were a posts about using the MR2 front strut bearing. With the stock configuration, the upper spring seat fits the ID if the stock bearing.Since MM comes with the alum. spring seat, with no provisions to fit any ID of any bearing,I'd like to know what the install procedures would be?Do I use the stock bearing and modify the stock spring seat to fit the mm alum.spring seat?Should I remove some rubber from the isolator so the alum.spring seat is inside the isolator resting on the bearing? The MM coilovers came with a bag of washers/spacers that are the same OD as the bearings and the same ID as the Illumina strut shaft, any opinions, links to old posts I may have overlooked,or information would be appreciated!
  9. Looks good.:2thumbs:Do you have any pics of your mounting fabrication/framing for your fuel cell from the underside?
  10. For all you guys from Chicago...One of my favorite sayings was when I was a kid,my grandpa used to say, 'borrow me $50 until Milwaukee Ave. staightens out'.I never knew what he was talking about for years, but now, think it's pretty funny.See if you guys can figure it out...
  11. Is that a Uflex Nisida steering wheel?
  12. Brian Setzer Brian Setzer or The Stray Cats?
  13. So how did he do in the race? That red TA looks pretty fast...
  14. I'm a plumber on usually residental jobsites, and you would not believe what the woodframers chuck in the dumpster. If I dumpster dove for a year,I easily would have plenty of lumber literally to build a decent sized house,no joke.
  15. Haven't seen it yet...Is Smokescreen in it?
  16. Lines flow quite nicely. IMO,it looks like less wheel and more rubber to fill those flares would be the way to go,possibly a 15" w/ a 50 series tire,IMO.But,I'm only saying that anyway to get you to post more pics!Build up pics would be sweet as well..Nice Z w/o a doubt.
  17. Very nice indeed.I'd like to see a shot of that molded rear spoiler. That puppy is gonna look wicked.
  18. Dan's has always been one of my favorite Z's here at HybridZ.Very cool to see some recent photos. Are you still running the TPI setup?Any chance you could share or PM some photos since I'm planning a similar install? Or any more photos for that matter.... Nice rides,fellas:2thumbs:
  19. "Wanted Man" by RATT deserves a few of my speeding tickets...
  20. Hehe.Awesome.Tell your passengers they have to bring their own diaper,so when they ♥♥♥♥ themselves, they won't ruin a nice pair of pants.More pics!
  21. I've got a fairly rusty Z,but most of the seals(tail lights,turn/side marker lights, etc.)are in fairly good condition ,and I'd like to reuse most if possible. No dry rotting, but are starting to get a little stiff. The question is,are there any techniques, products, etc, for cleaning, and softening for these rubber pieces without damaging them or drying them out?Any tricks of the trade? Thanks!
  22. That is basically what I needed,but that microfiche is so blurry,I can't really see much.Anyone?A photo,another site/download?Does the shop manual(or does the Haynes manual)have a schematic drawing possibly?Help!
