  1. i've searched and searched but can't find this mysterious relay. i do have a haynes manual but it doesn't give a very good description as to where it is. can somebody please show me some light and tell me where it is? it's the only thing keeping me from starting my z!!! p.s. pictures are better
  2. how big is the lip on the 9.5's? my lip on my 9's is 2 3/4 inch, except i went with the darker black version.
  3. aaaarrrggghhh nooo! don't buy them! i've got them on my z! i can't stand it when somebody else has the same stuff as me! .....jk do it! they look awesome, especially the 9" rear wheels with the modern motorsports spacers, they look pretty sick from the back. edit: but for any reason if you do decide to not use flares and go with just the honda to z adapters, make sure you dont use anything bigger than a 35 series tire cause you will rub
  4. i'm using complete 240 suspension on my 280, subframes and all. how much shorter are the perches? jw
  5. according to maximum boost by corkey bell the old rustic looking one is far more superior for one, the reason stated before, wastegate placement. and for two, each cylinder has it's own tube until the collector. the newer, darker colored header will build up much more heat due to the way cylinders 1,2,4 all collect into the same tube before the collector.
  6. nik...thats a pretty general post. first, set your power goals, then worry about spool time etc.
  7. http://www.atomicspeedware.com/ariasnissanpistons.htm those are the pistons i'll be using in my stroker build
  8. and the sroke of one of these so interesting H30's is...?
  9. the fade wont look that good trust me, i work at the best body shop in the city and our painter can't even make it look that good. it'll either be to quick of a fade or too slow, unless you get a world renowned painter goodluck.
  10. after reading this thread i got to thinking today about my drivetrain. this is the first i've read about an adapter to mount the z32 tranny to the L28 block. with the adapter what mods need to be done to the tranny to make it work?
  11. i'm going to have to look into that lol, i don't think aircraft mechanics is gonna cut it next year
  12. you are my new row model. any vids yet? really, what do you do for a living? if you don't mind me asking
  13. nevermind...i found it, i wasn't paying enough attention to the piston specs that were right in front of me. but, for those who are interested, the arias pistons i was looking at have a different dome cc from the SOHC and DOHC. SOHC = -11.5 and DOHC = -30.8
  14. alright so i've been doing some searching concerning which pistons to use in a 3 liter stroker tubro build, i have read only good things concerning these pistons. i plan on using arias's forged pistons and i had just one more question, is there a difference in SOHC and DOHC pistons?
  15. you are going to have to be wwwaaayyy more descriptive in what your talking about.
  16. i've been working on my current project for about a year now...motor swap, body work and paint is all thats left for the appearance of it. god only knows how long it'll be before the turbo motor goes in. it's good knowing there is guys my age on the board, i was starting to feel lonely....anyway nice car man thats pretty close to the color i'll be painting mine.
  17. can anyone give me a straight answer on what the deal is on the VG30 pistons? i searched but found conflicting answers, can they or can they not be used in a 3 liter stroker turbo?
  18. i work with a guy that'll sell his sr 240 for about $10K or so. but, i might be able to talk to him and see if he'll sell just the motor and standalone system with it. if your interested send me a pm
  19. were not actually thinking about paint now are we? well, if you are give me a hollar man, a guy i work with will do it on the side for cheap
  20. those are the pistons i plan to use with the stock l28 crank, but if the stroker crank is stronger then i'd rather use it, not for more power reasons simply for the thought of running a more sound motor.
  21. ugh, dave your killing me. i thought i'd have my turbo motor built and on the road by now but it seems like thats far off, probably end of summer or so. i have a question, you'll all probably laugh but i'm young and don't have half the experience you guys do, but what is the advantage and disadvantage to a stroker turbo motor?
  22. thats why i always thought it to be sought after by many, all the local z guys find out i have one and immediately want to buy it or trade haha. thanks i appreciate the help. edit: i'll be shooting for the neighborhood of 375-425, so it sounds like thats the diff for me
  23. i don't mean to jack your thread but i have a pretty stupid question. i'm completely oblivious to gearing other than the obvious stuff, but i would like to know the advantages to having a 3.36 R200...i've got one and plan to use it on my turbo setup, i know it's rare and sought after but quite honestly i'm kinda lost as to why. thanks
  24. i always have problems with MSA they sent me that spoiler when i ordered a different spoiler that cost more. they sent me a messed up head gasket. and they also sent me a dented exhaust system
