  1. SWEET! I love my 04 frontier! nice stiff suspension, pretty good A/C(the colders I have felt was a Ford Explorer's that put out 42 degree air at the vent when it was over 90 outside), crew cab, and big(er) tires... The motor definitely has some low end torque compared to my Z!
  2. wow thanks for all the suggestions guys! I welded a nut onto the head bolts that were broken off right at the block's surface. The bolt broken off on this head is too far down to weld unfortunately.
  3. beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I was at about 6000 RPMS exiting that corner...
  4. I don't know. I guess you could go search on classicZcars.com and find out who's pic it is. Obviously the car is RHD so I am guessing it is in Japan.
  5. yeah the shop did not want to even look at it when I said broken easy out... I got some cobalt bits to help with it. I have already reassembled my E88 today with the straight valves from my MN47 so I won't be using it for quite a while. I'll still get it fixed and do some intake porting and valve unshrouding on it while it is stripped. I'll probably do bigger valves while I am building this thing . I'll probably be getting exhaust studs for this head instead of using bolts...
  6. cutting torch vs. Aluminum head... hardened steel melts above 2300 degrees. Aluminum melts near 1200 degrees... Aluminum has a great thermal conductivity so it will suck the heat away from the bolt until the whole head gets to the same temperature. I used a torch to heat my block to help get off a busted head bolt but the block is cast iron...
  7. You may not need the same intake size but you will probably still need the same size intercooler and radiator as normal. This is explained in the book "maximum boost" by Corky bell.
  8. I started out all fresh and removed the entire wiring system. I am putting my wiring together with the help of my Electrical engineer father...Don't do it unless you know someone that knows about wiring or you will spend a LONG time doing it... I removed my combo switch btw...
  9. Well I figure after I am gone... Someone will be suprised to find this thing in a JY somewhere...Coilovers, turbos, excellent motor swap!
  10. If you look carefully the second one doesn't look like what is in the videos or the manga.
  11. Same one used in Wangan-Midnight! Only 36,000 Yen ($350?) http://page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n15880929
  12. Turbomeister also has a DANG fast car. 800hp I think in the low 9's?
  13. I had a buddy in my welding class that thought My Z was slow. so out comes his 2004 F150 5.9 liter V8 with headers and a 5 speed... I had my illuminas on 5 so there was no launching traction whatsoever. With tirespin I still stayed ahead and hooked into second and pulled a carlength ahead...lol Another was vs. an RX7 with a BRAND NEW +50hp exhaust on it...lol Well we have some fun for a couple lights and then we are coming around a curve (I'm like 3 lengths ahead) and I slow down because there are cops around the curve a lot... Well guess what. When I hit the brakes and get back down to 45 he rockets by me at about 80 and then sees that bumper guard poking out at the intersection... lol The cop follows him for about 2 miles and then fires up his lights. As I follow along slowly and laugh my head off.
  14. I'll add some pics that I got on a quick web search... just to show different cars...some you may have seen before and probably have. Others maybe not. Note: interesting spook on the S30. Gnose, big flares, and big spoiler spirit garage Z: I like this airdam along with the Gnose. more coming... More: Notice the hood is open below:
  15. 3 easy outs later...the bolt is still in there... I'm going to the machine shop in the morning.
  16. Darius's car is gonna be fast whenever he gets the thing finished... But right now? Mike a.k.a. "ZGad"
  17. That is what I thought it[the side skirts] looked like. I had drawn up a similar idea a while back but it got blown off by somebody... So filling the wheelwell with an inner fender like this should help the wheelwell not become a parachute. Thus one of the many things on this car to reduce drag...
  18. So I think that having an open fender may hurt aerodynamics a little bit. Having it vented should provide better flow from the tire/wheel area. That is just speculation and could be completely off... I'll be doing whatever I can to help with the aero of my Z...
  19. So how about a reinforced home depot lip? Held in place by some spring steel... On my car at full down on the suspension my home depot lip (hard plastic lawn edging, not the soft rubber stuff) is about 1" from the ground. I usually run about 2.5" higher than that though to get over normal street bumps and road transitions. I am going to be mounting my belly pan soon to help reinforce the air dam and block off the radiator-airdam gap.
  20. My carbon canister line is just sitting there open...and has done so for the last 3 years... I have gas going in right above the Mechanical fuel pump and the return comes back right above it. The carbon canister is located at the front passenger side of the engine bay on a vertical bracket with a nut welded onto the back. My line is just venting to the atmosphere there. I mounted my air horn compressor to the carbon canister bracket and pinched the vent line closed...
  21. This is a pic I found using stock Z mounts...
