  1. My favorite welder is the Miler Dynasty 200DX. I used one in welding school for several months. I also used some synchrowave 350 machines. I am looking at purchasing a synchrowave 200 for my personal use but would get the Dynasty if I had the extra funds. The main difference is that you can't pick up the synchrowave 200 with one arm and put the strap over your shoulder and walk away... not happening. The dynasty machine weighs 45 pounds! plus your argon bottle and then accessories..
  2. Won't someone just pull out the bathroom scales? Good grief...
  3. Then you will love this thread...just filled with videos... Group B rally video thread
  4. Before I left for college in the fall I put in about 200+ miles on my mountain bike on pretty good technical trails. Not the insane stuff but enough to get your heart pumping... But then I go riding down a bike lane and break my jaw into 4 pieces...lol
  5. From the album: Z car sketches

Got bored during English lecture...what can I say...

hahah... I bet the guy at the oil change place is going to have fun takeing off that oil filter when you drive in...lolJ/K!looks like it is coming along well!
  7. The highest MPG I have seen with a Z was 30mpg on an L28 with absolutely perfectly tuned SUs and a ZXT 5 speed. That guy was an older gentleman with a lightly modded Z. He knew his way around those SUs!!! I get about 16-18 MPG with my 9.2:1 L26... but most of the time I am getting about 8mpg because of that pesky ultra-lightweight pedal...or is it a heavy foot?
  8. and I can get most any of those holsets for ya... everything you need in 2 posts...
  9. Once you up the compression a little and a decent cam the SUs will start to limit your power... I can feel it on my L26 that around 5500 it wants more airflow but the SUs are limiting it. Soon I'll have my MN47 on my L26 (39cc chamber) and hopefully I can find some triple carbs to allow a bit more flow that the restrictive roundtop SUs. I hope to be making 160hp @ 10.2:1 CR with the normal internal and bolt-on mods. That should be good for the time being.. It makes for a FAST little street motor... I get through first gear from 2000-7000 RPMs in about 1.2 seconds with a stock tranny and 3.54 rear end...
  10. I found this paper that Nissan put out about the 280zx's aerodynamics. interesting... http://www.sae.org/technical/papers/800141 $14 for the whole thing (unless you are an SAE member) but you can read the abstract.
  11. How about running a holset that should fill your wishes? They work pretty well (spool early) and bolt to your stock manifold... Just an idea...
  12. VERY cool guys! Awesome progress!!! Can't wait to see the results! Some of this info has already gotten me excited! I have already built an undertray for my Z and soom will have the airdam sealed. I was thinking that the radiator was going to be the major factor for a big aerodynamic change. So what to do with air that goes through the radiator to send it over the car? Here are some pics of an L6 Z from japan that I think did a god job at sealing off the radiator and venting out the hood. I guess the holes on the radiator support could be sealed a bit and the top of the airdam could be sealed much better.

    13 crates...lol
  14. cool! Looks just like Austins car but without the red caps on the watanabes..lol That is completely Awesome!
  15. HAHA...lol I did the same thing...lol just take a bicycle shifter cable and remove the steel braided cable from it and cram it down the output tube until you knock the screen off... Then run at least two fuel filters with one before your electronic fuel pump...
  16. hmm... it looks as if that could be the answer to the LD block vs. stock hood problem... Darn now I need one of those hood vents...
  17. wow looks awesome!!! good luck with the progress!!!
  18. Click on my blog link and see the powdercoating Mike did on my block and valve cover... Very cool stuff! The wrinkle black is cool too! Looks great ktm
  19. Sweet...I won't go to a Hooters so next time I guess...
  20. Mike, sorry to hear about all of the trouble. Pull-a-part still has that 80 280zx and they also have a 71 240...if you want one of those...Their price is like $120 for a 6 cylinder engine...
  21. Cool! 2003z(Mike) and I are both near MikeKZ in the southern Gwinnett county area. Now is a good time to buy as house values are stating to jump up pretty good... I know of MANY hybrid Zs around home that aren't on HBZ. There is at least one RB20DET powered Z, a couple SBC powered Zs, and a couple unmodified Zs that are daily drivers... There are at least a 3 other high performance L6 guys beside myself too. All that on the East and Northeast sides.
