  1. Couldn't be to bad could it. I don't know of any Nissan engines that just suck. The price is proublably right to. I want to do the same thing your doing with a roadster.
  2. Good idea!! Thats what I was think of only easier....
  3. Why is it giving me X's? I tried to copy and paste the URL but, it tells me I'm not authorized. Whats up?
  4. I know he redrilled the flywheel. I think they are 250mm from what he told me. IF you do a search on Dial-a-clutch you can see what I'm running. It's rated at 103% greater than stock holding power for the 82&83 turbos. Right now I'm at about 330 crank HP and I love it. Easy to drive and very firm feeling. The test I use is if my wife can drive it. With a lightened flywheel and this clutch she has no proublems with it. If you can get the flywheel lightened while your at it. You'll be glad you did. I personally don't recommend the puck style clutchs. Yes , they hold the power but, they suck for everyday driving in my opinion.
  5. That had to suck!!! Anyway, If you can make stand or soemthing to put the engine on and put some wheels on it so you can move it around if needed. Cover it with heavy duty contractor trash bags and let it sit till you can decied the right thing to do with it. What about making a air compressor out of it? Just a thought
  6. I think the clutch disc that Lockjaw uses has a better "more grippy" surface. If I remember right it's off the 88 turbo. According to him it's held upto some major power and should have no proublem with 12 psi. He's getting close to 120 mph in the 1/4. Thats alot of power for a ZX.
  7. http://www.gusmahon.org/ Heres the site.
  8. I believe it's Gus Mahon's site. He passed away last year but, his site has been kept up. He has a ton of good turbo info on there. Most of it is begginer type info but,it's intreasting and helpful. I'll see if I can find it again.
  9. Gator from Papaduex is my favorite. Also Deer is very good when cooked like chicken fried steak.
  10. Just couldn't wait for something else to hit 500 post. So I'm going to do it here. 500th post
  11. I've had two before without T-tops and they are much stiffer as the miles roll by. I gotta get a set of those rims.
  12. Well, I got it done. I haven't even driven the car yet. Wow thats a job for one person. I wish I had called my brother over to help out. Also I didn't know you had to change out the flanges. I had to make a puller beore I could finish. Why is there ALWAYS more to job then you think there will be? I usally prepare pretty well but, I tolttlay forgot about the flange thing. OH well it done. Now for some drive time and less burnt rubber.
  13. Nice ZX. Sounds like you've put some time and money into it. If you can some more pics would be good.
  14. So your telling me that less is better for the additive? Does adding to much additive reduce the effects of the limited slip? I got the LSD today and hopefully I'll start on getting it installed on Wednesday. That is if I actually get some of my day off that I'm supposed to have. Also is this a one man job or what I've never changed one out and this thing is oretty heavy. Any pointers?
  15. I agree that with the stock HP or not to much more the stock brakes that are working to thier full potential work great. I have managed to over heat them though on a few occasions and let me tell you it's not a good feeling when you think of the speeds involved and the "OH CRAP NO BRAKES" factor. I've since steped up to some higher HP #'s and the stock brakes are just not cutting it anymore. It's just to easy to get into the higher speeds that take maximun braking power when you not expecting it. The larger brakes help you to be able to repeatedly have maximum braking power not just one or two stops at a time. I'll be stepping up to the larger kit as soon as I a few other small things done and get the OK to spend some bigger bucks on the car. Until then I'll be avoiding the "OH CRAP NO BRAKES" factor.
  16. A possible reason it does it now is that the turbo is spooling faster than it did before even with the same total amount of boost. The crazy goose sound is the turbo back peddling. Anyway do as the other guys have said and plumb in a BOV and make sure it is adjusted correctly. If you are unable to adjust it correctly you might seek the help of a shop that has the tuners that can help you out with your setup. There are always cause and effect issues when you change as many things as many of us have done on your cars.
  17. I should be getting my LSD on Thursday if Fedex delivers as estimated. I've been wanting one for years but, never had the money when one was avaible or there was never one avaible when I had the money. Somehow everything lined up this time. Anyway, what fluid should I run in it. I been told Royal Purple 75/90. Do I need any type of additive? By the way it's the one out of an '87 model. Thats the one I want right? I hope so since the moeny has already changed hands.
  18. I can't do the mirrors out there and some more clean up of the body and that would be the dream car. I really like that.
  19. I get the "Porsche" comment quite often. In fact the other day I was at another store and my wife drove up in my car. I heard the guy at the counter exclaim "Wow check out that Porsche or something" What i don't like is when I hear "Nice RX-7" Not sure why but, that one bugs me.
