  1. Hella tall fools in here. I'm only 6'1" but you'd think I was a midget in this thread haha.
  2. LOL. I sometimes wish my fiance was the type who loved it. Some girls just don't get it. At least she's down to get her hands dirty and wrench on the Z with me though. I've been told I'm lucky in that regard
  3. Trust me. Get a ratcheting wrench. With you left hand pull the bottom of the body panel out, it will flex enough to get your right arm up in there. With your right hand/arm, reach up in, slide the ratcheting end of the wrench over the bolt, start wrenching and you're done. I thought I was gonna have to drop the tank, but after realizing I could get a wrench on it, I went to my tool box, grabbed the ratcheting wrench and it came off in minutes.
  4. Go buy a ratcheting box end wrench and boom, done. Take like 5 minutes to get the bumper off.
  5. Just be patient. I highly recommend searching the classifieds on the LS1tech forum. You can find insane deals on there.
  6. Proper insulation of the firewall, tranny tunnel, and floor is key. Wrapping the exhaust manifolds or headers will help some too. The LS1 isn't an abnormally hot running engine, with the average operating temperature being between 180 and 210 degrees. Also, the motor doesn't sit any closer to the firewall on our cars then it does on the Camaro or Firebird... It's all about insulating that cabin. Get on it!
  7. Most of the time when your CV shafts need to be re-greased or the bearings need to be re-packed, it will make more of a quiet "clicking" or "ticking" sound than a loud clunk. I would check your diff.
  8. My work in progress build for reference. This does not include very detailed information, just a list of things I am doing for my build. My build budget spreadsheet which contains all of this information, plus MUCH more detail oriented information currently totals out to $30,065.
