  1. Looking good dude! Thanks for the updates.
  2. Received an email back from this company last Friday. They said they don't have anything but to keep checking around. They said this is something they would have to make from scratch, so it sounds like if you have the funds and are ready, they may be able to come up with something.
  3. Sucks that your Trans Am isn't 1 year newer. You would already have an LS1 ready to swap into the Z.
  4. Awesome work so far. Making great progress! Keep us posted!
  5. I had the same opportunity. My brother's girlfriend had a 96 trans am with a 6 speed that I could have had for cheap. I decided to be patient and pass on it, because I knew what I really wanted was the LS1. If you are building the car you really want, I would encourage you to be patient and stick with what it is you really want. You will be much happier in the end in my opinion.
  6. Looks pretty good so far! Will look even better with the seats in.
  7. If safety is your MAIN concern while being on the road, (which is a smart choice given your age) the S30 is not the best choice. They are not death traps by any means, but the technology provided in newer cars is something to take into account.
  8. MSA sells mold on flares but they aren't very functional. After searching for days, the only other option you really have is wide body kits offered from a few companies. Or get custom fiberglass work done. I plan on using the BAMF Wide ZG flares and having the rivet holes filled then smoothed over and blended to the body.
  9. Speaking of cooler air... I remember a mechanic telling me he used to race his trans am, and between runs they could put blocks of ice on the intake manifold to help cool the air going to the motor. Supposedly gave them much faster times.
  10. I do sales and marketing work for a company in Livermore, CA. I bought my first Z when I was 17 I believe. A 1990 300ZX. I loved it and is why I have stuck with the Z cars. I then bought a 2003 350Z and owned it for about 2 years. Fast forward to now, I am 24 and recently purchased my 1972 240Z. This car will never be sold.
  11. That's 4chan for ya. The darkest place on the internet.
  12. Yep! Make sure to not cross thread the holes on the head. I had to re tap those holes on one of my old Mazda's. I was lucky that all the metal blew right through and out the tail pipe. Was VERY scary when we fired it up haha.
  13. Spoke with Todd at Wolf Creek, and he said they only make CV Shaft replacement kits for all the long nose diffs including the R200 long nose. He didn't have any knowledge regarding the Q45 Diff. Here is my question. Is there a way to order Todd's R200 long nose CV shaft kit and get them to work with the Q45 diff? Maybe swap out parts from the Q45 CV shafts onto his long nose R200 CV shafts? Thanks for your time.
  14. I had an exhaust leak coming from the manifold due to one of the bolts being stripped. Was a similar sound but much higher pitched (could be less exhaust was leaking than yours if that is what the noise is,) and greatly increased when the RPM's increased.
  15. What all is needed for the Wolf Creek Racing CV's to install onto a Q45 R200 Short Nose? Thanks.
  16. There are TONS of places you can go. Most of the best shops around here will require THEM to do the body work if you want them to spray it. What type of project are you looking for? I would HIGHLY recommend California Reflections in Livermore. One of the best shops in the East Bay.
  17. One of our members is currently working on a long tube header/head pipe set up. This will allow you to customize the exhaust from the diff area back, with whatever mufflers/pipes/tips that you want... http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/95480-who-is-genuinely-interested-in-buying-lsx-long-tube-headers-for-s30s/page__p__898131__fromsearch__1#entry898131
  18. All of the big power (1000+ HP) Supra guys simply have the air filter clamped directly onto the turbo. Just food for thought.
  19. I use the solvent tank or simple green for everything.
  20. Nice work. My father in law's garage was turned into a booth for his 67 Firebird, and will be turned into a booth again for my Z. If you do it right, you will have zero problems with dust/bugs/whatever. Looks good so far!
