  1. CARB officials are probably loving this thread..
  2. It's not so much as the manufactures themselves who are marking up the price, but more of the sellers and distributors, that are marking it up because it is brand name. Z1motorsports.com is a good example of this, if you go into off the shelf aftermarket parts they have. (also there shipping charges)
  3. Lol, I thought you wanted 260/280 lights on your 240.
  4. If you go to the interior section, we have a multi-page thread on weatherstripping.
  5. I have an especially clean 73 roller for $800 if you don't mind arranging shipping.
  6. Did you even try to research this?
  7. What are you asking here? are your tires hitting the fender, which is limiting your turning? or are your tires wide enough so that its limiting your turning? did you cut the fenders when you installed the ZG flares like you are supposed to?
  8. And none of this means anything, because no drag strip has a rolling start, the same car you beat, could get a launch on you and beat you. And there are SO many variables, driver experience, car condition, road variables, tire variables, reaction times..etc..etc unless this is in a controlled environment, the results you posted mean absolutely nothing, other then bragging rights.
  9. If thats the case, the shifter itself sits outside the trans and is mounted to a U-shaped bracket, which is held to the trans with four bolts. my guess is that the bolts on the right side came loose, or the bolts holding the shift level to the bracket are loose.
  10. Have you attempted to solve your problem, before posting the question on the internet? Have you even looked at the shifter to determine if anything is askew visually? google image, z32 shifter and compare how your shifter looks compared to others. i may sound like an *******, but it sounds like you put more effort into making a thread, then solving your problem.
  11. Ended up just using a big hammer and alot of brute force. I guess I should consider myself lucky that they where upfront.
  12. Datsun did it from factory, just find an early 260z!
  13. Normally, I would just pull the hub and beat the studs with hammer until i give up or they come out, but thanks to the z32 being so special, I have to (according to the fsm) pull the knuckle and knock it out. Now what why is it a bad idea to leak the knuckle on the car and beat it out, like you would if it was out of the car?
  14. More along the lines of it's "if not in the rule book its not a rule" there is no interpretation of the rule book, there is what is written and what is not.
  15. A little update on the cars current condition. we took third over all in the last auto-x (two weeks ago) broke a couple lower ball joints, and had an e-fan relay issue, but overall did good. During the last few runs of the day, we ended up breaking a stock pushrod. After 6 years of hard hard life on the race track with average peak RPM's of 7500, it finally gave up. so hopefully we'll have a better valve train in it next time. We might also be swapping over to a purpose built chassis in the near future as well.
  16. Someone ripped the clock out of that car (literally) but i don't know if they cut the harness or not.
  17. Why not drop in a vg30e? all you would need are custom mounts, exhaust and a couple other small things, they are torque monsters out of the box, you will be losing about 150 pounds of the front of the car and they will get great mpg's if you keep your foot out of it.
  18. I would check them, before even removing or replacing anything.
  19. If you wanna go a step further, why not make your own brake lines? speedwaymotors sells a dIY kit for $100 with just about everything you need.
  20. they have been racing circle track for over 50 years and we manage to get away with stuff like that.
  21. Whats so hard about making one from scratch?
  22. Honestly, if you machine off the numbers of the cylinder head, they will never be able to tell the difference, unless they put it next to a stock one. Do any of the scca techs have a source of info for the z motors? or is it based on there call?
