  1. Lol, so we just won fastest time overall and got fastest time in our class and I scored second place in my sisters stock z32TT. Well a day later we started round number 2 of weight reduction. The entire firewall is going out and maybe the stock floor as well. We are going to make a single seat pod in there place and go from 2800 punds with a driver and 22 gallons of gas, to 2500 pounds with driver and 22 gallons of gas, as well as push the motor back another 6 inches.
  2. Ladies, please excuse me why I post this.
  3. So you are basing your opinion on one possible scenario? If the road is that strait, why not drive a little onto the should to look ahead of the truck to see if it's clear? why not fall back enough away from the truck to see next to it and then move over to see if it's clear to pass? The only way a RHD car, or anything is dangerous is because you make it dangerous.
  4. I don't know if you can still do this, but pull the motor, trans and seats out of it and ship the chassis over as parts and sell it. If you could get a couple cars in a container and then ship another container with parts you could make a decent profit after shipping.
  5. A properly setup dry sump system consists of a scavenger filter for every pickup line in the pan, an inline filter before the pump for each line, the pump, the tank, oil heater probes and a ton of line and AN fittings. Also the 911's have an internal chain driven dry sump pump inside the block, similar to how the vh45 is. Machining down the crank pulley is 10 minutes on the mill/surfacer if you choose to do that, the other alternative is to stack washers behind the mounting bolts on the accessory mounts. you don't need belts as the pulley sizes didn't change.
  6. Because dry sump systems are expensive and need alot of maintenance, plus they are driven externally by a belt, plus you need drill and tap new holes for the oil lines, block off the oil filter, build a new pan, plumb a dry sump tank..etc dry sump components are by no stretch of imagination cheap. all of the scavenger filters, inline filters and main filters will set you back a few hundred easy. Add an extra couple hundred for custom AN lines and you are at $500 for just filters and lines, not to mention you have to machine the crank pulley to accept a new pulley, then figure out how to drive the water pump, PS pump and alternator. I have dealt with dry sump systems before and they are no where near economical for street use. Typical service life for a dry sump pump is to replace the drive belt every 500 miles (6-8 races) and to rebuild the pump about every 1500 miles (one season or about 12-16 races). The TT and N/A block are the same, what extra set of holes are you talking about?
  7. There was two options on the table, one was to machine a spacer, And one to cut out and re-weld the hub. The stud is not really that big of an issue as a longer grade 8 stud should be pretty easy to get if not make. as for the pump, we where discussing filling in where the edge of the pump was with something and drilling and tapping new holes. As for the accessories, you could just machine the crank pulley down, or put spacers behind the mounting bolts on the accessories. The question of easy is relative, as finding the info and gathering everything we have posted is the hardest part for me, everything else is a matter of money. Of course though someone contemplating doing this is going to have an idea that this is no real walk in the park and that you are going to have to do some serious research. (which we have have posted)
  8. What the general idea was, is to run the TT crank and oil pump in the 33's block. Spacing the cam gears/tensioner is the easy part to all this. If funds become available to me, I'm going to be doing this route.
  9. I've had two 5 speeds and one auto and they all had two connectors, the same as every 87T+ I have seen. Also the TPS is not a potentiometer..
  10. If all I had one my 89T was the three wire TPS, then why has every 87T+ z31 I have owned had a 3 wire plug on the TPS body and have a separate 3 wire connector? very similar to 83+ nissan turbo cars?
  11. It's inside the car behind the dash.
  12. Don't be fooled, turbo cars have a tendency to make you think it's making more power then it actually is. I would bet that if the graph is that flat the trans would be slipping or the tires would be spinning.
  13. Dude, he was just asking a question. You are the only person here interpreting or implying something.
  14. I wish I had this post back when I joined. \ Here are the rules for another forum I am on. 1. Pay attention to spelling and grammar. You look like an idiot when you spell wrong. Don't use text-speak either. You're not paying by the character. 2. If you ask for advice and we give it to you, take it. Don't tell people you're going to do it your way anyway. The collective knowledge and experience here is immeasurable. 3. Learn to resize pictures! MSPaint is already on your computer if you are using Windows. 4. If we flame you it's probably because of #2. "(1) read before you post (2) take what you get (3) MAN UP! (4)give what you can (5) be willing to take some non lubed lovin once in a while intrade of all the tech, answers and and support the I.H board has to offer. because that far outways the tender brown eye"
  15. I'm still curious as to what that orange stuff was between the block and the head.
  16. Yes, after I t-boned an expedition at 60mph in my z32 and me and my passenger walked away without so much as a bruise.
  17. Sounds like you are using to much throttle when you let the clutch out, or you are letting the clutch out to fast and not slipping it.
  18. Keep up the good work! I would at the same phase right now if I had the guts to tear apart a clean 89 z31T
  19. Voltage should be .45-.52 at the TPS when closed. I don't know of the wiring is the same as a z32, but there should be three wires on a gray connector coming off the TPS, one should be carrying 5 volts when the ignition is on and the white wire in the center should be you need to measure. I would almost bet though, that you have a bad/wrong MAF.
  20. Agreed, It's like a legitimate 4 seater z32 with some fancier options and a smoother ride.
  21. You noticed something like that to? It's most likely just an R32 that's been rebuilt after a front end wreck.
  22. The issue I have been seeing with newcomers over the past year or so, has been the lack of effort on their part to find the answer before asking. Although this issue has been getting smaller recently it still happens. Let me break this down barney style... Say you are lost in a crowded subway and need help finding the bathroom. Scenario #1: you walk into the middle of a crowded place and yell "I need to find a bathroom" You will get a lot of looks, but people will just ignore you all together, be sarcastic, be a smart ass..etc Scenario #2: you walk into the middle of a crowded place, find someone and ask gently "Excuse me, I have been looking all over and I can't find the restroom, can you point me in the right direction?" now generally courtesy shown firstly will be rewarded with courtesy shown back. Anyone catching my drift? You wouldn't walk up to the pope asking him a question on the bible unprofessionally and expect a professional answer, would you?
  23. Thats the thing, it barely outlined the absolute basics of selecting a cam and constantly quoted a 3'rd party. I know the best cam is one that is custom ground to the motor and conditions the motor is used in, but they could have atleast given more detail into what it takes. /rant. Maybe I am expecting to much from people now days..
  24. What's the point in having power if you can't use it? Also quit trying to instigate things.
