  1. And what do these statements have to do with the fact that intercoolers aren't needed? Yes N/A is easier, but once you get to a certain threshold, you either need more displacement or a higher piston velocity to achieve higher power levels. The nice thing about a turbo, is it's ability to compress air into a cylinder. Now some people are lazy and don't want to build some all out stroker that will only net a measly 300WHP Especially when 3-400WHP can be made for less money with a turbo. hell, an average vg30 is putting out somewhere between 3-800WHP on a stock long block, Where is you're N/A is easier now? You are basing your opinion as fact and trying to push it on people.
  2. Because of this: And this Do a little (lot) more research on this and actually understand and comprehend what you intend to do, as when you say "I'll just graft on new subframes after I beef up the non existent frame" tells me you know nothing about what you actually plan on doing.
  3. Alot of the newly manufactured snap tools I have come across say made in china on them, while the packaging says made in the USA.. I'm talking newly manufactured within the past 3-6 months, not the new stuff that has been collecting dust in the snap on truck/warehouse.
  4. You can do all that with a 3.54 diff.
  5. There is no need for a "modern" suspension, when the s30's suspension has proven itself to be just as good. I suggest you go and read through the suspension section and see what people have done in the past with suspension swaps. If anything, the only thing that really needs to be improved in the front suspension setup, but even that's pretty easy with a little ingenuity.
  6. Go read every one of Tony's posts in that thread and you will understand why an intercooler is not necessary.
  7. Why the need for such a tall gear?
  8. TBH I have had more snap tools break on me then any other tool brand minus matco and pitsburgh. (I don't want to know what kind of quality it is now that snap on is made in china)
  9. Amazingly the harbor freight tool selection has tremendously improved in quality the past couple of years and now offer lifetime warranties, do I am never going back to sears except to exchange stuff I broke.
  10. If you plan on doing any sort of decent paint job I would take it down to bare metal, especially if the paint is cracking and chipping off.
  11. Don't forget a shock sensor that will kill the fuel pump past 2.5 G's or if the car rolls.
  12. The best antivirus is not getting a virus... I haven't had any sort of protection since 2007 and haven't gotten anything close to a virus. just pucker up your free ports and make is so any program other then ones authorized by you can't access the web/you unless you say they do.
  13. He's working as far I know.
  14. Alright, I know there is no difference between an N/A and TT MAF, but I recently pulled a MAF from a 93 z32 N/A to use on a 90 z32 TT, but the pins are different, the TT MAF has pins on ABCDE, while the N/A MAF has pins on BCDE. Now the TT runs fine on the 4 pin MAF, but this has me kinda curious.
  15. Don't forget the mojave heater option if you don't want the stock stuff.
  16. The three tools required to do the swap... Everything else can be done using the feature known as the "search button"
  17. Speedwaymotors.com go with the speedway brand, they are either afco or tru-cool radiators in a different box.
  18. Yeah, I just realized that. But my point is still that running ATF through a factory heat exchanger and then through a external cooler is useless, as you aren't really cooling the ATF when it goes through the heat exchanger you are merely getting the ATF closer to the water temp (usually heating up the coolant) and it alone has more con's then pro's, especially when mated with an external cooler.
  19. Don't run the stock internal heat exchanger, it will do nothing but reheat the ATF you are trying to cool down and will cause your coolant temps to rise.
  20. spend your money in the correct places and it will be as reliable as any car with an Ls1 in it. (assuming the car itself is in decent shape) If you don't spend money in the correct area's of the swap, then you need to know the ins and outs of the car/motor and keep a small set of tools/spares for when the car breaks down.
  21. Do some research on turbos and turbo conversions and get some general knowledge on cars and do some research on those chinese turbo kits as well.
  22. Dealer. Supposedly it's an r230, but I have heard there are differences between the z32 TT R230 and the q45 R230.
  23. Get seats that are power from factory.
  24. I have no idea, I buy 50 foot rolls from speedway motors and a local hole in the wall supply shop carries the same plastic in flat sheets. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Colored-Plastic-Rolls,44968.html
  25. That seems fairly useless, since the exhaust sits right under intake.
