  1. why not run it in above the wheel well, run it under the carpet, then have it exit out with the main harness through the firewall?
  2. I was thinking more along the lines of, getting car jacked/stolen/stripped, car wreck, hurricane, earthquake, random urge to send it to the recycling center...etc
  3. heres a vid of it running on 8 cylinders.
  4. i would highly recommend taking off the bob sharp stuff, cleaning it up and putting it in a box, I've also got one of those bob sharp valve covers stashed away, there bitchin.
  5. lol, man dont you know that ink costs money?
  6. It started out as a simple buy it, make it reliable, make it fast, make it easy project. Well we all know where those go. So now I am in process of acquiring a newer miata rear end and either the front suspension from an e36 or e30. as well as finishing up the body work and finishing up the wiring up the scratch built wiring harness. so here is a pic of the car in the for sale thread. well, lets just say the pictures where a bit deceiving, as the wiring harness has been rigged, beaten, hacked, burnt, melted and used. The body looked ok until you got closer, then you would start to see things like massive waves in the body lines, body lines being wider and smoother then they are supposed to be..etc atleast there isnt any serious rust and all the damage is reversible. recently i started to strip certain area's of the car to remove various spoilers and to prepare for bigger flares and paint, only to find out there is about a 1/4 inch of bondo on the rear quarters and that the molded in spoiler was a cheap hack job. spoiler ends in process of being removed. (keeping the center of the spoiler) bondo magnet is happy! and now the other side. this improper way to eliminate emblems, that it fiberglass, they smoothed it out with lead and bondo. look what i carved out of bondo! a 240z quarter panel!!!! (litteraly used a chisel and hammer) bondo magnet is happy once more! gonna finish taking the rear to metal and then i get to re install the subtle z rear flares and or install IMSA flares. now here is the motor, nothing spectacular for a SBC, but is built just right for this car, plans in the future are yellow ls6 valve springs, flat tappet lifters, chromoly rocker arms with stud girdles, aluminum/electric water pump, high torque mini starter and to get those hooker headers s30 sbc conversion headers cleaned and coated. so now lets move on to the interior, nothing special yet, autometers..blah.blah.blah other then that its stripped. stock s30 dash puked its guts out when i pulled it out. And thats it for now. (ran outa pics) my album is here, if anyones interested. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v353/hoov100/v8%20240z/?start=120
  7. lol, who would carry something like that around? especially in the NYSE?
  8. i am a devoted fan of the paint stripper, it works awesome and it makes it easy to remove large areas of bondo. but it still sucks when it eats through your "chemical resistant" gloves and gives you second degree chemical burns on the hands.
  9. does that plenum flow enough, to not make a choke on the system?
  10. are you running an HEI distributor?
  11. get a drop base if you dont already have one. that should lower it about an inch, i just cut a hole in my hood to accept the 12x4 airfilter with the flat base.
  12. if one from a 73 works, i have a spare laying around.
  13. if this is for a z32 and not a z31, i would recommend a TT long block an AFC and a procharger type supercharger, mounted in the only place that there is room in the z32's engine bay.
  14. mine ran off the + side (or the one labeled "tach" on the dizzy)
  15. i have the stock tach out of my 73, that worked with HEI on the sbc. $40 shipped to your door, pics on request.
  16. diff is up to you, but the open long nose R200 has proved itself more then once. usually when it comes to the driveshaft, rule of thumb is to bring them the front and rear yokes and give them the length and they should be able to build and balance a new driveshaft for you. (atleast thats what I've done on the 30+ driveshafts i have had built.) (also are you in socal or Az?)
  17. aux, this is the biggest fail, since the kid who tried to sell a SOHC valve cover for a b20 with "vtech" inscribed on it.
  18. 87+ z31 NA GL steering wheel?

    Cargo Straps

why not find a set of stock s30 non retractable seat belts and use those?
  20. lol, I'll get video one of these days of my 4.22.1 run..
  21. i kick crazy in the nuts and drive my own path towards my own damnation...
  22. so i went through all of your videos and have yet to see anything qualified to be called crazy driving wise?? did you delete the video or something?
  23. ahh ok, didnt see it there for a second. if you can afford it, i would go with some aftermarket mechanical gauges (speedo, tach..etc) they work really good.
  24. not the best pictures or the best bulbs, but the stock s30 gauge lights are in the tach and the autometer light are in the three in the center.
  25. what I'm going to start doing is just have a little external hard drive in my car and just have the video record whenever the ignition is on, for those times when you wish you had a camera.
