  1. If i get my college money i will be finishing up my bachelors degree in human biology and might go to school for neurology so work will always be on my side! japan would be cool too, but i dont feel like learning a new language.
  2. exactly, anything to keep me from being a carpetbagger.
  3. hmm i want to stay as far away from ND as much as possible...
  4. alright, theres one suggestion, come one people this massive think tank wont move itself!!!!!
  5. maybe i should just move to Australia and "live off the land"
  6. i dont think i have the mentality to retire, plus where would i get the money for the z's?
  7. if i can survive north LA then i can survive anything.
  8. lol, i dont know what CHP does other than pull people over and arresting me on my bike.
  9. I have been in the army now about a year or so and certain problems have led to me being chaptered out with an honarable discharge. Now all i need to do is choose between two jobs, border patrol or CHP now i love deserts and off roading and all of that, but at the same time i also like being able to cruise around on the streets and would love to take some ricers down, but now i must choose. so what do you guys think? BP or CHP?
  10. for hitting a light pole at probably 60MPH that car looks in pretty good shape seeing as the driver probably walked away.
  11. what part of hollywood are you in? i think i have seen that car before.
  12. I wasnt saying completely redo the xmember, just re do the center, right where the oil pan would be, ive done it on quite a few race cars using stock front clips when we set the motor back. specifically for oil pan clearance. i was planning something similar for my z32 before it got canned.
  13. alright, the spindle program will commence as soon as i get paid. (march 15'th)
  14. could you reshape the top of the bell housing? or you could always go aftermarket. I dont think you should toss out the idea of a tubular x-member though, as it would solve almost every problem and wouldnt take nothing but a couple days to design and build.
  15. looks like you would have to replace everything but the vin plate
  16. My friend has a set of chevy "pink" rods that he has been looking to get rid of, dont know the price, but PM me a reminder and i will ask him.
  17. Alright, let start off by giving you the plan. s13 front spindles and coilovers, z32 front calipers, hubs and SS AN -4 lines with the appropriate adapters, HOWE rebuildable screw in lower ball joints and the weld in sleeves, subaru PS rack with HEIM joint outer tie rods, wilwood dual M/C brake pedal assembly, custom hard brake lines up front, proportionion valve for the rear. Alright, this is how i want to do it. FLCA: take a stock 240z FLCA and reinforce where the ball joint bolts on with some steel plate, then cut out a hole where the sleeve slips through, then press the sleeve into the hole, weld it, screw in new ball joint, grease, install new bushings. Done..... spindles: ream out existing hole for stock ball joint to required specs of new ball joint, ensure theres enough material left on the spindle after reaming for safety purposes. Done.... subaru rack/HEIM steering: already mounted to crossmember, aquire two HEAVY duty circle track spec steering HEIM joints and steering studs, screw together, then onto the rack, grease. Done... After all of that it should bolt together and one nice product would result. I still have almost no idea what i am going to do about the rear brakes and driveline, but it will probably end up being the MM billet stub axles with an r230 and the AZC billet rear mounts and control arms. So what do you think?
  18. i think 240sx spindles are going to be my best bet for this, thanks to all.
  19. how well does it clear a stock hood without the air cleaner? and nice work! i hope to be blown soon.
  20. hmm, braap is right. And i have always liked getting the response "you beet me with what?? and you built it that cheap????" But i would do the AWD z32 for more of an awe inspiring swap, but fabrication is easy for me, maybe i should just toss a cage in the s30 and stick with the z32 suspension, i loved the way my z32 felt on a track, very nuetral and responsive and you could physically feel when the car was about to gooout from under you. and this was my last project, that blew away everything except a new porsche 911 driven by a fellow racer, a built 96 impala SS that has everything except a cage and a Ferrari challenge strenali. this is what i am competing with, it was built for under $3k and in one month from start to finish. now its either gonna be multi link or floating 9" with 4 link and a panhard bard and some nice 10-12 inch slicks.
  21. basically i am dealing with a restored rust free running and driving sbc 240z, that i want to put s13/z32 front spindles and coilovers, with a subbie rack, with a complete z32 rear subframe, then toss in a z32 dash, center console and door panels with seats, then cage the car. this is what i have planned for the chassis thus far. now i was actually about to get another z32 before i found the v8 240z and saw the price, but i still have my z32 sitting next to the house with a blown motor, and considering all of the things i want to do to the car, it makes me wonder if i should just pull the driveline out of the 240z and toss in in the z32 and call it a day. but at the same time i have always loved driving the s30's and they are just a sweet car, but a bunch of little flaws in their design just add up to one huge mess, which the z32 fix's and then some. my second option would be to just the the s30 all together and get an AWD rb26 and convert the z32 to AWD as it would be fairly strait forward, but the problem being is that the front diff sits a little far forward for my liking and i would have to build a custom radiator support and make a angled radiator setup. my third option would be to LS2 the z32, which would again be fairly simple as i woud just fabricate the firewall and trans tunnel and set the motor back around 6-8 inches... I have no idea what i want to do anymore, i want a sweet road racing z and to me putting all of the z32 stuff into the 240z would seem a little pointless as i could just simply drop the driveline into a z32 and call it a day and not have to worry about the chassis ripping itself apart or having to worry about driving wrecking it. Anyone have some advice for a kid with too much time, creativity, thought process and money?
  22. I need the size of the fattest part of the taper on a z32 front lower ball joint, also i need a picture of the spindle where the ball joint slips through with a tape measure next to it, if anyone has one laying around.
  23. i love the NSX, do it and drop in turbo VH!!!!!!
  24. i have the crank to one of those sitting in a bag in my garage!
