  1. Any noticeable difference in performance?
  2. OK, your 280Z should already have dished pistons, so you won't really need anything to do with the engine itself, although the P90 would probably be aa nice addition. You will need a 280ZX Turbo ECU, not the standard 280ZX ECU (manual or automatic, doesn't matter - the ECU has nothing to do with the transmissions in these cars. You will certainly need the 280ZX Turbo manifold. 280ZX Turbo injectors, not standard 280ZX injectors. Not sure what you mean by larger oil lines. Do you mean for the turbo? If so, you just need the turbo oil pan, and the feed where the filter goes off of a turbo engine.
  3. The prices seem pretty high for most of the cars listed...
  4. It's getting ready to roll over to 10,000.
  5. Looks beautiful! I love the paint scheme! Excellent work.
  6. Man, I sure hope the front end of that car as destroyed in a wreck...
  7. It probably depends on your choice of pistons. Flat tops or dished. With flat tops, it's possible that you may have over 200whp, but I doubt it is anywhere near 249 at the wheels...
  8. Those are really boring cars that don't handle very well.
  9. I'm not really interested in 240SX's at all but I think the swap sounds really neat. Do you have any pictures?
  10. If I was a police officer I'd arrest that guy and then forget about him in the holding cell. Problem solved!

I think that engine is more similar to an RB series engine.
  12. I will take a look at this tomorrow afternoon! Thanks for the advice! I don't think this part is the problem because it has been set up the same way since I bought the car and I have had zero problems with them so far. Thanks again for the suggestions.
  13. You don't want to put this cam in your L28ET. If your L28ET really has a P90A head, you have hydraulic lifters which will not work with the L26 cam. Also the L26 cam profiles are not ideal for a turbo setup.
  14. I'd appreciate some troubleshooting guidance and suggestions on a problem I'm having with my round top SU's on my stock L24. I replaced the head gasket on my motor, which was running (blown gasket) when I started the teardown. It was running normally the previous day - an overheating condition (never boiled over or died) tipped me off to the head gasket. After reassembly, I have no start. Engine cranks fine, I have good spark, and I did not do anything that would have changed the timing. My helper and I are pretty sure I have a fuel problem within the SU's. The mechanical fuel pump is putting out a strong flow, and the bowls are getting fuel because they drain fuel when the line is disconnected. When I crank the engine, it spins freely and sounds good, but shows no sign of combustion. When we spray starting fluid into the intake and crank it over, the engine fires. We pulled the plugs after failed start attempts, and they have no fuel on them at all. One person suggested that I try replacing the carbs, but I have a hard time believing that they would have gone bad in between the time they were running yesterday when I pulled them, and today when I put them back on. Any and all help appreciated!
  15. You should probably take all of the brakes off of it.
  16. Only if it is a metal head gasket and it is in good shape.
  17. I wouldn't say that. It would probably go for about a hundred dollars if you included the carbs.
  18. I LOVE the dash swap. I definitely miss the interior of my 300ZX. Do you have pics from when you were doing this swap? I'd love to get more info on the dash swap for sure.
  19. I don't believe that the turbo pistons are stronger, they are simply dished and have lower compression.
  20. http://home.aanet.com.au/nistune/ That is a link to Nistune, which makes most Nissan ECUs fully programmable. This is the system I will be running on my L28ET that I'll be swapping in soon. Very cool and much more simple than a MegaSquirt install.
  21. Once, when I had my 300ZX, I walked out of a store into the parking lot and saw a nice little dent on my car, and the car parked next to me had red paint from my car on the edge of their door! I pulled out of the spot I was parked in, got out of the Z, walked over and kicked a big dent into the side of their car. Maybe a little bit over the top, but if people don't want to respect my property, I don't want to respect theirs either. I swear, once my Z is repainted if anyone so much as touches my car there will be hell to pay!
  22. Sorry, but I've never heard of somebody doing this on an S30 before and I was wondering if you could explain to me why you want to have shorter windows.
  23. Apparently she does not know what a Maserati is then.
  24. Weeeellllll, next Wednesday the junkyard L28ET I bought for my Z is going into the machine shop to be rebuilt with forged pistons and a slightly ported head... at the tune of $3500 out of my pocket. ouch.
  25. Cool, what are the power goals, and what do you expect it to spool at?
