It's a 1908 model retooled per 1938 spec, the production date is 1943. It's a K.Kale edition. I think the bore on it is toast as well, because when it did shoot, I couldn't hit targets for ♥♥♥♥ Then again, it could've been misaligned sights. I'm going to take it to the range when my 91/30 is ready and test it out at the same time.

i tried yugo 70s ammo, 50s turk ammo, egyptian 60s ammo, etc. same result. i have dismantled the bolt completely and cleaned it and reoiled it. There's no cosmoline left anywhere. I think it's the firing pin protrusion that's causing the problem, and I haven't checked the headspace yet - don't have the tool for it anyway.

I'm having problems with my mauser... I think the bore is shot (no pun intended) and the firing pin is either ground down from use, or is not the right part. Only half of my rounds actually fire, the other half get a nice dent in the primer, but do not ignite. I've tried this with various rounds from different eras, same results. The guy at the range tried my rounds with his yugo48 mauser, and didn't have a single misfire.

yep. while MSA offers almost everything one needs for any Z car, their prices are at least 30% higher than average cost for reference, I ordered a spring compressor set from them for $30. This was a harbor freight piece that sells at HF store for $8.

should be done processing bg check and picking it up in a week: Going to order a monte carlo stock, ati-type mount for the front sights and turn it into a sportster/scout (although, barrel is a tad long for a scout, but you get the idea). Total cost should be about $250 including the gun itself. Bore seems good, and the receiver/bolt/firing pin are in very good condition. Apparently, some big5 stores don't care if you disassemble the bolt right on the counter.

put that Z out of its misery. The owner should be paying you $300 to get it out however, the fan on that engine leads me to believe it's a 1970-early 71 Z. still not worth it. for giggles, get the VIN

i take a razor to mine and cross hatch cut it. that way, you can't peel it off

if you're going to be doing ZG flares, you probably want wheels with more negative offset so they fill in the flares correctly. You may want to do some research on the flares here, and see what you come up with. 0 offset will fit stock fenders, but flares stick out another 2.5-3" or so.

i see the buckle, and i see the possibility that your framerail is slightly bent. measure the distance between the framerails at the firewall, and at the radiator support. see if the numbers differ. if they do, this means your suspension geometry is a tad out of whack also. Your driver's side wheel may have more toe out than passenger, unless it has been compensated for

well, obviously we'd including AU/NZ, canada region, europe we have a z guy in iraq, even. i put texas separately because it's easier and there are a lot of z guys in texas. easier than just identifying them with "south" region.

guys, I think we should have regional forums listed: west, northwest, midwest, north east, south east, texas, etc this would make it easier to schedule group events, local bartering, info, etc. For example, let's say I need to get a bunch of spare steelies to roll my car around. It'd be easier for me to voice this in a regional forum rather than in the general motorsports or non-tech board
