  1. The curve would make it damn near impossible to install and still look good. But, that's not to say it can't be done.
  2. Hmmm... I wonder how many government lists you would end up on if you brokered a deal selling a decommissioned spaceship to a foreign museum? You might be able to make a pretty penny!
  3. So my daily driver; 1991 S-10 Tahoe Blazer, 4.3L 4x4; Was chipping teeth on the flexplate. Over Christmas break I went about pulling the motor and replacing the flexplate and starter. I got everything back together and it won't start. Everything powers on when the key is moved to "on" and you can hear the fuel pump prime. It cranks over fine and you can see the injectors firing. I pulled #1 spark plug to check spark and there was a nice bright spark when grounded to the body and engine both. I thought it might be timing but I set the motor to TDC and set the distributor to cyl. #1. I got some stumbles but nothing convincing. Put a timing light on it while cranking and set it to 0deg without the electric timing thing plugged in (followed procedure on a sticker in the engine compartment). Flipped it 180 just in case but got no stumbles, changed it back and set it to 0deg again and still nothing. I'm absolutely stumped Anyone have any ideas?
  4. Thanks for the suggestions guys. Sounds like I'll just go to a couple places and check out prices/ selection. I have Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. all local so I'll check them out. As far as the "tool trucks" I know they're in town, but if you don't work at a dealership or shop is there any way you can contact them?
  5. My S-10 Blazer DD was chipping teeth on the flexplate, so having more time than money or sense I pulled the motor to replace it. In the process, I stripped the gears on two el cheapo ratchets which got me to thinking... I should invest in some tools that will last. So, what brand of tools would you recommend? I've heard mixed things about Craftsman, but there's a lifetime warranty of their tools right? Any places online to look? Thanks Ben
  6. Haha, I thought I knew Spanish for about 6 hours after my knee surgery Hope everything's well and good luck with the PT!
  7. There used to be a store through CafePress but I don't think it generated enough interest to keep it around? Maybe one of the Mods can comment.

    Avatar 3D?

I thought it was pretty good. The 3D was pretty cool but by half way through I didn't really notice it anymore, until I saw something on TV when I got home and it looked very...flat. Like others have said it's a somewhat predictable story line, but still a good story and good story telling with many very cool/unique parts added in to keep it interesting.
  9. Merry Christmas! It's a nasty blizzard here, 30 mph sustained wind with 50 mph gusts and 12+ inches of snow in the next day. Stay safe to those who are traveling.
  10. Very nice! When'd it turn purple? It used to be red right?
  11. Ok, it's finals week in school so I finally have some time to work on the motor. Took the oil pump apart last night and cleaned it up but I noticed some pretty good score marks on the top plate (where the pickup is). How big of an issue is this? Can I get the face milled flat again or should I just get a new pump? Thanks Ben

  13. When I used to be into RC cars, I know SuperBrightLEDs had a good reputation. I've never dealt with them, but they've been around for a long time.
  14. Yeah, a buddy of mine was shooting somebody else's 10/22 with a el cheapo banana clip this summer. The first shot he took the mag fell out of the gun and split in two. Just buy a couple of the Ruger mags and load them all at once, then just pop one out and the other in.
  15. Hahaha, FTW! Whiskey is also an acceptable man drink. So is hooch, but only if it's in a mason jar or some other random container (I have a great story about that, not suitable for the forum though ) Oh yeah, back to the original point. You might want to check the local game laws. Here in Nebraska if you have any firearm with you in the field you must have a hunting license and stamp, etc. or you're guilty of poaching.
  16. Yeah, the University in its infinite wisdom has made today a half snow day, so all classes after noon are canceled. 10 inches of snow isn't anything to get worked up about after all. Not to say I would have gone to any of my classes anyway
  17. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=131990&page=4 Doc ran into some problems, mine are going to the machine shop before I put them on the motor.
  18. Keeps embers from flying all over the place when the wood pops when it burns. I've melted a couple spots on my girlfriend's carpet from forgetting to close the curtains on the fireplace
