  1. hmmm, anyone else . I think "maybe" I will buy the clutch set for a 89 camaro since that is what the tranny came out of... sound reasonable to me I have the old pressure plate and disk from the camaro... the pressure plate bolt holes do line up with the new flywheel and the disk seems to fit fine. hmmm
  2. hmmm, I want to buy my clutch set but i'm not 100% sure what to buy. Is the question too stupid? maybe i need to reword it... basic ? is: 68 327 w/ 89 wc t-5 ..do i buy a clutch set for a 89 camaro? I am assuming I do but not sure, thanks, bob
  3. ok I bought a new flywheel off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2439356541&ssPageName=ADME:B:BN:US:1 Now... I need a clutch set for the 327 with a wc t-5 1989 out of the camaro. so should i simlply go to the parts store and buy a clutch set for a 5.7 1989 camro? I am looking at this one http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDetails.asp?SourceArea=&SourcePage=SEARCHRESULTS&MfrCode=ZTR&MfrPartNumber=MU561&PartType=244&PTSet=C Has anyone used the Perfection Hytest brand ? ANy good? thanks, bob
  4. strip down to bare metal, fix all the dings and whatever rust u find, two days imo would be a neat trick. Plus if u are not going to paint it in a short time it will rust because primer is porous. So if u only have two days I would not take it to bare metal, just sand it the best u can and fix whatever u can tape it off and prime it. Then when u have way more time go at it...
  5. I haven't noticed any problem. Just bought a flywheel today and some other stuff a couple days ago and everything seems smooth.
  6. ok thanks don, so does this mean the nip on the passanger side that has no (or little) vacumm at idle but comes up with rpm goes to the distributor?
  7. 72z w/ 350 chevy and edelbrock 600. I was adjusting my carb with a vucuum gauge and noticed there is a difference of vacumm in the two nipples coming out the front of the carb. The one on the drivers side has vacuum at idle and all the time while the on on the passanger side has no vacuum at idle but does if I rev the motor a bit. Is this normal? And if this is normal which one goes to my distributor and which to my th-350 tranny? hmmm, thanks, bob
  8. hahahahaha...240mph ...hahahahahahaha
  9. friggin stupid, what do they think is going to happen.
  10. pretty funny..hmmm, i kept waiting for the funny part. I thought it was not funny at all. Now if that fat ass bitch would have got knocked out flat on her fat ass at the end of the clip that might have been a little funny. Whatever, I thought it was just stupid.
  11. Im in ca. my z had not been on the dmv record for 15 yrs. After we were done with the v8 swap they said i had to bring it in for a inspection at the dmv, I was sure they were going to do some masive inspection. I wait in line outside in my z, old dude comes out looking like one of the zombies out of night of the living dead. says.."open the hood" looks at the chevy 350, then looks at the vin under the windshield and writes something on his clipboard. Then says "open the drivers door" looks at the vin on drivers side and writes something again. Then hands me a paper and says"take this inside" Thats it... did not even check anything..just the vins..hahahaha
  12. sounds like a loose u-joint to me. I would check them as soon as possible to see if any of the nuts have come loose.
  13. bastaad525, did u do what I suggested with the flashlight and foam strip?
  14. maybe but the idea is good and works. Sorry i offended you Nic-Rebel450CA. Anyone else feel offended?
  15. better yey put a slut in the back to watch for the light... "crawl in back and watch for the llight slut" ....hahahaha
  16. dont rip it off yet.. do what I said first with the flashlight. Use the real thin foam, (not 100% rubber, its to stiff) Put it on the underside of the hatch. This way you keep your 150$ seal and it looks stock.
  17. bastaad525, Even though U replaced the rear hatch seal it is most likely the cause of the fumes. Do this: park in a dark garage and throw a blanket on the rear window. Crawl inside the car in the back and have someone with a strong flashlight on the outside of the car go along the hatch seal...you will see light where the seal is not sealing properly. Now: get some thin foam (the kind u buy at a hardware store with thay is self adhesive) and put it on the underside of the hatch where u see black caused by the hatch seal all along the bottom and about a foot up both sides. If the hatch wont close take a little of the sides. see what that does, it worked for me and i was crying
  18. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH....HAHAHAHAHA..HA
  19. yes, why are you the one that beat me out on the bid? hahaha.. Have you done business with them before?
  20. this 327 may have been out of a vette.. I bought a 72 vega for this motor and the guy I got the vega from said it was a vette 327. When I look up the #s it says "Passenger/Chevelle/Chevy II/Camaro/Corvette " but when I try to find the numbers on a vette site no matches so I'm not sure. I dont have the block number on me so I will post it tomorrow, maybe someone can help.
  21. ok cool.. one more question the description says "Two piece Seal Crankshaft design for early model Chevy with internal balance" My question is how do I know if my motor is internally ballanced? The motor is a 1968 327 from a 68 camaro. All the flywheels I have looked at say for "internal balance" thanks again
  22. Thanks John for the information... What are the differences between the Steel light weight flywheel and the aluminum flywheel. Are the steel 16# flywheels good quality? Bob
  23. What are the benefits and/or negatives of a "Steel light weight flywheel" Here is the description of the flywheel i am thinking of buying for my 68 327 / wc t-5 for my 73 for Chevy small block and big block standard transmission applications with internal balance. 153 tooth design for lighter mass with outstanding Quality and machining. Light design used in Dirt Track and Road race applications where weight is a plus off the corners. Faster acceleration is made by using this 16.5 lbs flywheel. Two piece Seal Crankshaft design for early model Chevy with internal balance. 10 1/2 Clutch will fit this flywheel.. The flywheel is manufactured from high quality 1045 steel and has ring gear that is made manganese carbon steel . This flywheel is machined on CNC machine center to guarantee it's accuracy Thanks, Bob
  24. thats cool... but one thing. The small block changed from 2 piece to 1 piece in 1986. Are you guys using a early pre 86 camaro flywheel? If so maybe thats why it fits..not sure..hmmm now im really confused
  25. hey, I have a 68 327 and sunday I picked up a wc T-5 w/ bell housing and flywheel out of a 89 camaro that had a 350 in it. Question is will the flywheel from the camaro work with the 327? I have been told since the 327 is a 2 piece rear seal and the camaro is a 1 piece that the flywhell will not work...but I thought I better ask you guys to make sure. thanks bob
