I don`t think that repair shops or anyone affiliated with them should be allowed to perform these inspections. regardless of whether they are "honest" or not. It is too easy for them to do the things that you`ve described. Inspection stations should be only that, and should not even be allowed to refer you to a shop for supposed needed repairs. There are way too many dishonest people out there looking to bend you over.

I`m not sure that "no money" could really be considered a cure. It`s more like "remission"

frame ties will help some, but I`m not sure how much. since the body has already been fatigued from previous twists on launch. They may not help as much as they would have if you`d put them in earlier

what is the most displacement that you can get from a 455? from boring,stroking,ect? Do they offer good flowing aluminium heads for it? Also, what about steel cranks? If I`m not carefull, the lure of easy cubes is gonna get me

Grog,Nice site, I`m already too far along in the SBC swap to even consider going to a pontiac though. Have you considered going to a 455? I could be wrong,but I`ve heard that the 350,400,and 455`s were all the same size. I also noticed you`ve got a Hyundia elantra in the background. I had one the same color that was totaled. if you`re interested I still have the rear spoiler and american racing wheels from it.

I can`t help with the availability of sub frame connectors,but I would suggest putting them in along with a roll bar or a cage. Both would help to stiffen the body, and if your running the hell out of it, the added safety wouldn`t hurt any Does your car have t-tops or is it rusty? It`s hard for me to imagine that much body flex if not. The zx`s were heavier and should be more rigid than the earlier Z`s
