So are the L26e's mentioned above equipped with fuel injection, or twin su's like other 260z's?
  2. Maybe you need shank style lug nuts that pass all the way through the wheel so they stay centered?
  3. Looks pretty solid to me, hard to tell what's under that undercoat, but it looks pretty good. Look at the front frame where the t/c rod mounts, I've seen those rust out here in Florida, and that's no good. Also the underside of the hatch (not a deal breaker, new hatches are out there). I'm amazed by the condition of that battery compartment...
  4. I wonder if that's were b_sosick's car got it's magnum z.i. scoops...I don't mind sending in some sketches, but they're going to have to get me at LEAST one of those robotron front fascias OTM found and a whale tale for my time and effort if they are expecting to charge in the multiple thousands for my intellectual property... Driftn280zxt: maybe this would be a good opportunity for you to get your kit made for cheap or possibly free, you've got a ton of great ideas too.
  5. That is a really clean car. I'm not overly fond of the wheels or that spoiler style, but I do love the front end. I like the little bumperettes.
  6. My vote for the car behind it is an early ranger or a bronco II. Definitely a truck of some kind.
  7. I wanted my exhaust to exit out of the license plate area, but even with the fuel cell, I don't really have the space. I was going to move the plate down, and cut out that part so I could have two round, rolled tips exiting there side by side, or over and under...
  8. Those look more like R32 tails...I wonder if nobody is using them, and we've all fabricated this memory of having seen them on a car because it seems like such a natural thing to do and there are cars with similar setups floating around...Kind of like the memories people have of seeing the thunderbird photo of the giant dead bird with all the cowboys standing in front of it (this is a big cryptozoology mystery: people are more interested in finding the source of this photo rumor than in looking for the supposed large bird, since it's almost definitely a fake, but there are so many people who remember it, or had it at one time. If you google "missing thunderbird photo" you should get some good hits)
  9. I'm almost positive somebody has those on a z, I thought it was 280zforce, but I just checked his album and it wasn't...I can't remember who it was but I know I've seen them on a z before.
  10. That engine is so shiny I can't even tell what I'm looking at in a picture that small...
  11. If you are going to do flames, true flames are the way to go! I'd put my vote for having them come out of someplace that would make it look like the car was actually on fire, like the cowl area near the vents and inspection lids, also on the sides behind the wheel well. I'm all for in your face paint schemes, and besides, it's only paint, right?
  12. There is a military surplus store here in town that has kind of become a paintball supply place over the years...on the counter they used to sell camo condoms, the slogan on the box: "So they can't see you coming!" I thought that was genius, evidently so did they because they cost $2 a piece...
  13. Now was that so hard? The car looks great, good luck with campaigning it! I'll be the first in line to give you a high five, even after giving you such a hard time.
  14. So are you still married? My wife of almost one year can't stand the "other woman" out in the parking lot. Seems like I need a letter from the pope to buy something that costs more than $10 if it's destined to go on the car (but $1000+ is a perfectly reasonable amount to pay for a cat-go figure)...Other than that, being married is a lot of fun, just have to keep your sense of humor.
  15. I was thinking about that one too, but I think most of that paint job is pinstriping, isn't it? All the hood details and stuff? Come on Chewie, we've got to convince OTM to do it, I can tell he really wants to deep down...He's such a closet case...OTM, why don't you paint your engine camo, that way you can represent to everyone that gets under your hood, but you don't have to wear your colors in polite society for everyone to see?
  16. I don't think it looks like photoshop so much as somebody who had one of these motors going into something else, and decided to be funny with the integra that was getting an ls/vtec swap or something. You can see the original honda motormount up on the strut tower in the right side of the picture. Those twin superchargers would make for a pretty funny sleeper though if this is a real swap... As for that ford focus swap, supposedly that swap is a bolt in affair, with no cutting or welding of anything. That's because there is a version of the focus that is sold in europe that's all wheel drive and turbo to homologate it for WRC competition, so the unibody already has a provision for the drive shaft and rear end. I don't know that first hand, but I've heard more than once that that swap is easier and less invasive than it sounds. There is a transmission made by G-force that will allow you to run your Honda B-series engine in RWD configuration though. Those motors spin the other way from traditional motors, that's why it's so hard to make them RWD, but this transmission supposedly compensates for that. No price on the website, I guess if you have to ask, you can't afford it.
  17. Here you go Terry. The "photo album" link is below the member's garage on the main panel.
  18. My biggest problem with that body kit has always been the square wheel wells.
  19. That bearing doesn't look too hot...Aren't you supposed to have dish pistons instead of flat tops anyway? By the way, nice surveillance photo!
  20. Usually it's in the underhood fusebox. I'm really not sure if that's going to work for you or not on a model that new.
  21. The 2minute car is an Alpine A610, knew I'd seen it, but not quite right with the Jensen...
  22. I'll be following this one, I'm curious how you are going to go about it. I'm doing the ghetto turbo option, everything used/fabricated. I'm more concerned with being functional than pretty. So far I've got my pulsar GTiR intercooler ($40), Garrett t-04 ($50), and SSautochrome wastegate ($100), and I bought a t4 split inlet flange from ebay to use with the header flange I cut off an old header to build my own turbo manifold. I've got my stock unknown mileage n42 block with a slightly newer P79 head that just has new gaskets and seals. Hopefully my megasquirt will go on this week and I can get my fuel injection sorted out before it's time for boost. We'll have to compare notes on the manifold design, I've got some ideas, but I have to balance my poor welding skills against my lofty fabrication goals...
  23. I'm sure that would work great with a turbo-after it's finished. I see in the picture's address that came from the projects section of www.speedshopthagard.com, so it's probably a work in progress photo. Looks like really high quality stuff. The intake in that picture is the 6 holes in the middle there. It's eventually going to get an enclosure to seal them up so that it will hold boost. I've heard tons of good stuff about that shop, I guess for pricing you could just go to the website and see what they are charging...What I'm curious about: is that a second fuel rail up by the valve cover? That motor looks so serious...
