  1. Okiedad, I think you have a great car there. I'm a die hard turbo guy, but there is just something about a big blower sticking through the hood of something that you can't beat! Nice stance on that thing too, you and your son are doing a great job! Ls2v8miata, you just became my new hero! (sorry JnJ!-you guys are still my fishing heroes though! although Doc Hunt's fishing buddy is starting to edge you guys out...) I think that might be the best vette I've ever seen, even if it is yellow!
  2. I think it would be pretty cool if somebody extended a 2+2 out into a full wagon...This car is coming along really well though, keep it up!
  3. Auxiliary: I like to call those types of girls sorostitutes. There were a bunch of them polluting the curriculum in my art program at USF...guess they thought it would be an easy "A".
  4. Then get there, Pop! Join the darkside with me and Chewievette!
  5. Olie's right, we've gotten off topic. Everybody get your game face on, OTM, back to work!
  6. What crazy fuel rail is that? It looks like a camshaft almost...
  7. That shouldn't be the case. You need a code scanner that is OBDII compatable, and then after you've read the codes, all you have to do is hit the erase button to clear them. Disconnecting the battery doesn't always reset OBDII codes, it depends on how the computer is set up. In order to get a radio reset code for a Honda, you have to pull the radio out and get the serial number off the back, then call the parts department and have them get one from Honda. I worked in parts at Acura for awhile, and this happened all the time. Historically on Honda's, if you pull the hazard light fuse for 30 seconds, it would clear the codes, but I don't think that works on newer ones.
  8. There is no harm in going from normal to synthetic, synthetic to normal, or mixing normal and synthetic together. I have personally done all these things, and it even says right on the synthetic bottle:"compatable with ALL conventional motor oils." The only thing you can't do with synthetic oil for some reason is seat a new gasket. It will just seep right around it. That being said, synthetic oil is probably not going to solve your problem. A lack of oil will cause the engine to get loud, but probably not shake. I'd check your motor mounts since this is the easiest thing to check (besides oil level-have you checked that, by the way?) and won't cost you anything: Open the hood, put on the e-brake, have someone you TRUST give the car a SMALL amount of throttle with the regular brakes applied (car must be in gear-and you must be off to the side so if the car jumps it won't take out your legs) and see how much the motor moves in the engine bay. If it looks like it moves significantly, or you hear any clunking noises, it's time for motor mounts. Also, a 1999 is OBDII, so almost any electrically related problem will throw a check engine light. If that's the case, you should be able to have the codes scanned, and see what the car thinks is wrong.
  9. Hey Doc, that's a very sensible choice in fishing partner. If there were ever too much vigorous fishing pole related activity on the boat, and it capsized, you've got some built in floatation devices right there!
  10. That's so hot. Anybody seen the new Import Tuner? (I just read it for the soft porn, not the articles) Got a camo integra on the cover, I was so proud until I realized it was a vinyl...I'm telling you, it's coming back! Everybody jump on my bandwagon before it's too late!
  11. Gearheadstik, I do like the paint. Search the body kit forum for Camo ZZZap! to see what my $15 dollars from wal-mart got me. JnJ, you guys are so hard core, that reminds me of what Samuel L. Jackson would say in Pulp Fiction: "I never thought about what it meant, I just thought it was some cold blooded sh*t to say before you killed somebody" or something like that. I was thinking about putting: "Knowledge is power. What have YOU learned today?" on the back of the camo zzzap. I figured I'd wait until it was actually fast though...
  12. Un-believable...I still have the key for my 77 that was cut from one of those blanks...I stumbled across that auction under a general "datsun" search (yes, I scroll through ALL 5 million pages just for something to do at work) and thought it might be nice to cut a new one. I didn't notice the bids at the time!
  13. I only paid $200 for mine, and it's driveable...
  14. No, that's why I'm discounting them to $450, if they were clean I'd sell them for at LEAST $100,000. But without the center caps, those are in a seperate auction...
  15. Sweet! By the way, did you check out the rockin paint job on that 1040hp guy that's challenging JnJ at SEZ7? That's probably the only time I've seen a tiger stripe paint job look good!
  16. Where's the plenum for that turbo? That looks like the www.twminduction.com setup to replace the tripple webers with fuel injection throttle bodies...
  17. Not to sidetrack the discussion, but I just wanted to say to Paul that the BRAAP-mobile is everything I thought it would be, very cool car. As for which management system, I chose the megasquirt because a good friend of mine is using one on his 95 SC2 saturn to the tune of 330whp, so I've got access to some proven (to me anyway) tuning prowess for no extra charge. It's compact, and full of features, and very inexpensive. I had him build it for me since I've never soldered anything before, and didn't want to learn on a circuit board. I'll probably be doing the install this week sometime.
  18. I've got a set of 5 of those wheels I'll sell you for $450...
  19. That's a nice paintjob-JnJ you guys need to put some warpaint on the monster to let him know you aren't intimidated!
  20. You don't want the kit, but you do want all the hot suspension parts...Seeya wants the kit, and I want the fascia. And I still want Seeya's whale tail, but that's neither here nor there. I propose THIS fabulous course of action: OTM, you're the closest, since me and Seeya are both here in Tampa, almost 500miles away, so you should call the guy and find out what it would take to get him out of the car. Then you should relay that information to us, and then amongst ourselves we can figure out how much it would take from each of us to compensate you for both parts and labor. Do you concur?
  21. Well, I guess if the price were right or not is all going to depend on our good friend BobBarkerthanme, and whether or not he is actually going to go through with it or not. We await your convenience, sirrah.
  22. The car at 2:00 minutes, is that a Jenson? What was the car at 2:37? I didn't recognize that one either. Man that group B audi quattro and the group B lancia were SO awesome! I love that era of rally cars. The two Lancia stratos's were great too, one of my all time favorites.
  23. Yeah, me and OTM got some history...this secret information is like taco, and burrito, but nachos! (get it? OTM is the taco, I'm the burrito, and the secret info is nachos=not yours....sigh....once again my humor goes un-appreciated...I need some new material...that was SO funny in like 5th grade) I just wish it was closer to me, or that somebody would buy it, and be willing to ship me just the one part I need on the off chance that other people would buy the rest and recoup the investment...or maybe just see if the guy would be willing to part the car out, and be johnny on the spot for those less fortunate who aren't able to wrench on it themselves...I'd be much more inclined to buy the whole kit if it didn't require the installation (and purchase) of steamroller wheels and tires.
  24. or run isolated plenums for the front and back cylinders in an over and under style (wasn't somebody on here talking about doing that for awhile?). I like Brad's idea better though, like the 5.0 HO mustang or the RB25 skylines, or the 7m supras, or some other performance motors that I'm not familiar with.
  25. I can't believe it's still there after three years...they must not move too many cars from that junkyard. Every time I find something cool in the junkyard, i never have the time/money to do anything with it, and when I go back, it's always gone or stripped...I just stopped going to window shop. Now I can't find anything I want...
