  1. joe, great to meet you and amy. had a nice lunch and got to talk about cars nearly the whole time! hope you both had a great time at niagara falls!
  2. shoot me an email and we can meet. one_tuffz@yahoo.com also, i'll be at the japanese car show at hoselton on july 12th. many from zccr will also be there. dp
  3. i'm a little embarrassed as to what i paid. almost [kind of] felt guilty. total shipped from down under to me in upstate, ny was $250. i know of no way to remove those pesky spring steel circular retainers, so i've always used a pair of side cutters and simply cut the center tip for the chrome molding. you can then place the lights in the sun to gently warm them and slowly and carefully separate the lens from the housing. to remove the chrome trim from the lens, you'll need to clip all 3 tabs or points. to re-install them i've used double stick tape-but as tony stated i'm confident that clear rtv would do the job as well. tony, i was thinking of something that would stay 'tacky' like the original white sealer they used. it seems to have the consistency of gum-even after many years. i also think that if i used rtv it would be pretty tough to pull them apart again if need be. tony, your thoughts?
  4. found these one late evening on fleabay. a guy in australia was cleaning some old z parts out of his shed. saw them about an hour after he posted them, made him an offer and they now have a new home! spent about 3 hours to; dissassemble, clean & polish. my question, who has been successful finding a suitable sealer to re-assemble the lens to the housing?

  6. i'm betting that the intake sound will be intoxicating! oh, looks great as well!!
  7. nice job indeed. i have a couple of q's. do u have a pic of the other side of the tank, showing the fuel lines in/out? eliminating the vapor tank, has this caused any problems with filling/emptying of the tank and where did you route the lines from the tank [i believe there are 3] to?
  8. myron, you got skillz! perhaps you could take your jig and arms to a local fabricator and have them quote the job...i'd be in for a set.
  9. you've now experienced an attack of the mysterious and illusive tercelerossa!
  10. nicely done tutorial! and yet another reason why hbz is part of my daily reading:icon6:
  11. phillip, next time i'd look to post a question like this in the parts wanted section. anyway, the e-brake cables are no longer available from nissan. i do have a used one. if you're interested, email me directly. one_tuffz@yahoo.com

  13. you inspired me-cut the roof off my parts z today, figured someday myself or someone else would need it... come to think of it, it might be driveable-a targa top z car! z going to the crusher on thursday-anyone need anything let me know quick.
  14. my most recent parts z. heading to the crusher this week...
  15. i love the simplicity of your design. ok, i'll be the first to ask when they go into production?
  16. stuff i do for hdpe's. thorough tech of your car before heading to the track bring spares-alt belt, brake pads, etc. tools-that you commonly use in your car torque wrench-torque before each day begins snacks & drinks-leave the caffinated products at home-a sports drink or water work fine. minimize alcohol the evening before-it dulls the brains ability to efficiently process the stuff you need to drive safely end a session early if you are fatigued [i've done this before-better safe than sorry]. even had an instructor ask why, told him i didn't want to get 'behind' the car and was tired ride with another instructor, ask an instructor to ride with you [if solo/advanced] to gain a different perspective on varying apexes, braking & entry points, etc. always the student! i have a list of items i pack for each event [simply created a word document], that way i hopefully don't forget anything develop and maintain a good scan [pilot stuff from my military days]. scan between gauges, mirrors, far in front & behind your car and closer to your car. this will help you to avoid potential problems and give greater reaction to others-also will help you be safer on the street earlier someone said-'leave the ego home'. this is very important, you are there to learn and improve your skills-NOT to race [yes, i've been guilty of this-so this finger is pointed as well]. patience, if there is too much traffic-pull into the pits for a minute to let the 'train' go by. you're only going to become less patient and more prone to an incident if you don't. practice 'off-line' turns. the perfect apex doesn't always present itself and learning an alternate way around the corner will come in handy some day [advice from a great instructor i had] when lapping, i always keep in mind that i want to drive my little z home in the relative same condition i arrived there in [helps me to reign myself in when needed] even if you think you know [whatever it is they're going over] the content of the drivers meeting-pay attention as if your life depends on it-IT DOES [i gaffed this once and learned the hard way...] hope this helps! re-read this sticky before you head to the track each time. we all forget and this is a great thread to help.
  17. i skipped the ceramic coating they offered for 2 reasons wanted to clean up any of the [inner] welds in the collector as well as port match the header with a die grinder have used swaintech thermal barrier coatings since 1989 and never had a problem-have nearly 9000 miles on the headers...you guessed it with no problems my 2 cents. when i took the headers to swaintech, i met with the owner [dan swain] who is a corvette guy. he asked what the headers were for, told him an ls1-he says, why not some long tubes-then i explained what the engine was going into...he gets this big smile on his face!
  18. new rubber door lock gasket pads for the s30 cars. pliable, seal nicely and are precut to fit the door locks precisely.
  19. congrats, also bringing back my own memories. first wings were at ft rucker in alabama in 1986 as an army rotary wing aviator [i was an army reserve medevac pilot] then the 2nd time as a marine aviator, flew kc130's. loved pensacola and the seville quarter as well as time in corpus thereafter. if i had to choose between fixed wing and helos i'd go with the latter. for someone like me [can't sit still] the helos offered up a place for both hands and feet that always needed to be occupied and doing something! fun, challenging and rewarding! nothing like noe [nap of the earth] flying in upstate ny-especially in the spring & fall. you'll love the sikorsky, great helo platform! remember, there are old and there are bold pilots but there are no old, bold pilots...[spoken to me as a young army warrant officer from an old chief warrant officer who would occasionally take me aside and pass his words of wisdom].
  20. cool, glad it worked and you're back on the road. got my d/s back last week. did the same thing-took them the q45 d/s and he said-unservicable u-jts, but measured for the diff flange. it's a spicer unit that is rebuildable. mine ran me $160 complete but i had my old d/s with me that connected the t56 to the r200 diff.
  21. jeffer949, if you look realllllllly closely you'll see my front tires pointed slightly to the right in a countersteer as the rear was pitched a bit to the right.
