  1. must be officer's discretion....cause unfortunately I can say I've had them walk up to both sides. lol. But I do also try whenever possible to move over for vehicles on the side of the road.
  2. Every review of the car i've seen says it defies the laws of physics. Guess that's proof right there. Also pretty cool that it breaks necks. haha
  3. As much as i love my blue, I really have to agree. ^^
  4. ummmm....you do realize that the Nissan GTR is a 4 seat right? aswell as the STI, M3, Evo everything, etc. lol not to thread jack, but just to clarify. anyway as for the color of the car, i thought Top Secret at first aswell, but looking more closely, the top secret gold seems a little more of a lighter tone than that. could it maybe be the 350z sunset yellow? or whatever its called?
  5. well, i suppose if they could engineer it, the cars could drive it. lol.
  6. ^^ that one always trips me up...people talk about '240's' and i always think 240z. Then i realize, "ohh....240sx."
  7. darn it! I was out at the track this weekend working my first corner ever (i'll post pics/videos later), and missed one of my favorite races of the series!! hopefully they will have a re-run. Anyway i noticed those covers before on earier grand prix's but it was only on some cars...now they all have them?
  8. only in japan.... wow. i could only watch half of it, but i have a strange curiosity to finish it....
  9. a friend of mine thought she saw me driving around town, except it was actually a 350z. Said it was the same color and everything, just looked a little 'newer' for some reason. LOL
  10. I wonder if that 350z is actually running something like a V-mount...or if its just show. Looks like a performance oriented car though.
  11. did you know that Lamborghini uses Z32 headlights turned sideways on one of their models? Can't remember which one. I've had my car called a Z28 before...ugh. Yup. Japanese camaro right there. Also had the Porshe treatment. that was fun explaining it was a 30 year old Datsun. guy says "My Dad had one of those...I knew there was something I liked about it!" LOL I've also been told that 1973 was the first year 240z's were imported into the US. lol
  12. there are actually a few cars out there with the same body styling and color as the infamous devil Z. Personally, I will be going with many styling cues from it including the zg flares and fender mirrors...but thats another story. If you look hard and long enough you can find some pictures of look-alikes, aswell as the rare picture or two of the SSS car. (atleast i think it was the SSS car). I'd give you the pictures i have but i can't find them anymore. There are some good pictures of look alikes out on wmexpressway.net oh and for the record, as far as i've heard from anyone, the actual SSS car is no longer in existance....aswell as the shop.
  13. if u ever want any help, im usually free between early morning and late afternoon.
  14. WHOA!! you know that Jul 7th was exactly a month since my wheel came off?? Derek u better be checkin your lugnuts...looks like you're next Seriously though, Its good to hear that everyone involved was ok, and the car is still ok. I was lucky, i suppose with my wheels, as they are the mag-style wheels, and have a thick plate the lugs go through. No damage to my wheels, and I wish i could say one way or the other for you'rs Woldson. Looks ok? but obviously deformed..
  15. well I don't know about the 'awards' thing. I kind of agree with Woldson in that it really isn't about a popularity contest or what not. However I would like to figure out a way for all of us to show our appreciation to those (admins or not) who have put in the extra effort around here to make this site incredible. On a related note, I think something we might be able to pull off, reminds me of a simillar award i'm familiar with.... When I instructed snowboarding on Mt. Baker, at the end of the season they had what they called the "turkey award", which was given to the person who had the best story of something they did during that season. The year before i was there, someone was jumping the roads (basically build up a jump on one end of the slope and cruise right over the road to the other side)....missed the other side and hit dead center on the wall. And the car coming up was the director of the instruction programs. LOL Since we get a lot of threads about our little screw ups, or funny storys, or whatever, maybe we can have like an honorary award for that? lol just an idea...
  16. there's a good trick that was taught to me to give me a feel for how my car reacts under extreme conditions. Basically find an open parking lot, and put your car into a tight 360* turn...keep the turn radius the same but start tightening it by adding more power...then when you feel like its right on the edge of what it can handle, mash the gas and try to react. Another version is to let go of the gas and react. This little excersize helped me a bunch when i first started driving my car and wanted to get a good feel for it. (Also teaches you how important it is to be smooth, and not to mash the gas/brake etc)
  17. he could always put the shifter in the transmission, and shift it through the gears? Even a stick might work...
  18. i've seen that one!! almost turned around to follow it too.... thanks for making my day! And by the way if you're ever out in these parts again, hit us up. It'd be awesome to get a little hybridz meet goin on here.
  19. He'll be in my prayers out here. Hope he has a speedy recovery! Let us know how it goes eh?
  20. missing the orange tip actually that would be pretty hillarious to do for a gun like that.
  21. it also depends on what style of drifting you are tying to get into. I would highly recommend searching for "the drift bible". In it Keiichi Tsuchiya, the REAL drift king, shows techniques used for two different styles of drifting. Basically a "show" difting style as well as a more competitive almost "racing" style of drift. You can have the same car do both, but it might help you to understand more clearly how to best set up your own car. I would try to get some seat time in an S13 somewhere first just so you can get a better idea of what a drift car feels like. Granted, a Z will feel way different from a 240sx, but the S13's are such forgiving drift cars, that you should be able to pick up on cues that you can figure out how to make work for your Z. Good luck! I'd love to see some more sideways Z's
  22. I'll tell you guys what though...you want crazy semi truck drivers, go to the mountains in Mexico. Thats a trippy drive. I did't even see the motor there until i read it. HAHA. well whatever works i guess.
  23. I have been in this situation. My fuel pump stopped working, among some other things, and at the time my car was at the bottom of a hill in our neighborhood. It was parked on the side of the street which has no houses bordering it, but was still notified that it needed to be moved within 24 hours of when it was parked, otherwise it would be towed. (someone complained). I just pushed it to the other side of the street, and that legally gave me another 24 hours. I ended up getting a tow back across town to our garage. I'm pretty sure they have to make sure that you got the notice, and that it has been more than 24 hours. I would fight this. But don't lose your car either.
